Giggling at the scrunched up face, Koril took a step back. "You said you would consider it, not that you'd actually go." Self-consciously, one hand did rise to feel along a fin that showed through his hair. Were they that big? He hadn't thought so... "If you did say it... I was a bit distracted and missed it. I want to hear it for sure."

Though it wasn't as evident with his pupilless gaze, Sol's eyes turned first to the ground, then to the side, and generally anywhere Koril wasn't. If he was going to cut ties completely this was the time; he could forget everything he'd done a few moments ago hadn't happened, move on with his life, and head back north, where he belonged.
Instead, Sol took a deep breath and exhaled as if his entire soul were leaving him. "I will go with you to Jauhar, but that's it; after that, you're on your own." It wasn't as if it would be strange for him to go to Jauhar, either; he still had family among the sprawling jungle, so it would be easy enough to dodge questions that would inevitably prod further.
"But first I have business back at the inn to finish. I won't be ready to leave for a few days, at least."

The anticipation was rippling through Koril as he watched that placid face. he had never been good at reading people, and Sol's eyes certainly gave him to help. The long breath made the hybrid's brow pinch, a little afraid Sol was going to say no.
"Yay! Thank you, Sol!" he hollered with a happy spin. Finding a wagon from Jauhar to Matori would be so much easier than Sauti to Matori. And more time with Sol! "I can wait a few days," he assured, calming back down lest he overwhelm the quieter man. "Gotta wait for Flana and Sev to get back anyway. I can't go without Flana." Besides.. as long as he had Flana, he would never be alone...
Clasping his hands behind his back, he peeked around at the town again. "I'm hungry! You hungry? I can buy us a real dinner instead of eating more travel food." He sighed lightly, ready for something he didn't have to dig out of his pack or wrestle with Flana for.

"Shhh! Not so loud!" Sheesh! The whole point of staying in a relatively isolated spot was to keep others from seeing them, not to draw attention! And yet it seemed like Koril had no problem being as loud as he wanted....really, that just about summed up the other hybrid, as far as Sol was concerned.
"They'll be back by nightfall, I'm sure. Sev's usually back by then." It was how he'd trained her anyway, and most days she was smart enough to follow his orders. Kicking off from the rock wall, Sol began to trek onwards towards the little village. He had been hoping to retreat to the privacy of his own room at the inn, far away from prying eyes, and the thought of eating in a public place wasn't exactly appealing. Especially since they were likely to stick out so much...
....and yet, it wasn't as if he wasn't hungry. "So long as you're buying."

He turned to look back at the path they had just come. Hopefully, Flana was being a good girl out there and having fun! She did love playing with others. He turned back and gave a skip to catch up with Sol. "I can buy it, yep. Since you're gonna be going with me so far, I can at least feed ya. Do you need to do business stuff first, or can we eat now?"

Sol shook his head, and gave a tug to his hood, bringing it tighter around his face. Although a good many of the locals knew him well enough without it, there were a great number of nomads who passed through and the less reason he gave these people to gawk the better.
With his hand so close to his face, though, Sol was able to see the grime sticking to his gloves. That gave the hybrid pause. He gave himself a once over, and although he couldn't see the muck as clearly, Sol knew he must look rough. The same went for Koril, really; they had been traveling and sleeping out in the wilderness for a long while now. He didn't even have to sniff himself to know he'd probably do well to take a bath. "Nevermind, I think we should go to the inn first. Get cleaned up."

The mention of getting cleaned up made Koril stop to check his condition. His clothes were rather grubby looking.. and grubby smelling. Wrinkling his nose, he nodded and brushed at his shirt in a futile effort to tidy himself. "Mmm, a bath will be nice," he mused. The more he thought about it, the more he felt the need to clean off.
Oh, wait, the inn.. "If we're gonna be here for a few days, it would be cheaper to share a room," he said, cocking his head curiously. "You can take your bath first if you want."

Sol waved off the smaller hybrids concerns. "We're not paying for a room; I live here, remember? I've been staying in that inn for a few years now. In exchange for work the owner's brother is tutoring me in magic." It seemed to work out fairly well, though he did miss the cooler weather of Zena. It didn't snow near as much in Sauti, if ever, really, and Sev certainly didn't like all the rocky craigs. It was harder to slip in smaller bits of rock with her massive wings, so he rarely went exploring without her, and thus....they spent a good bit of time indoors.
"You can just stay in my room, and take Sev's bed. It'll do her good to stay outside some; she's getting soft."

Oh, right! Koril smiled with relief. "I'll help out with anything if they want me to!" he assured happily. He didn't want to be a freeloader, after all.
"Okay!" Wait. Sev's bed? ...Well, it was technically free, so who was he to complain? "A bath, some food, and the sleeeep," he crooned happily, excited to have a bit of luxury after traveling.

He wasn't sure how Makani's sister would like that, but he would talk to her about it, all the same. Most of his dealings were straight through the man himself, so he hadn't actually spoken to her himself, but maybe it would be worth it to spook Koril a bit.
A little shameless trick before bed might help him sleep a little better.
And sleep was something he was definitely ready for. His aching body carried him forward, all the adrenaline from before drained out of him, leaving Sol to wish he had his raptrix's wings to carry him there so he wouldn't have to keep walking.
