Austri's arm was tightly linked with Flydra's listening to the tealblood talk with an eager grin. "A gym~?!" She knew where she was going later, that was for sure. Looking up at Scorpa-- They'd said the same thing at the same time, but Austri knew she'd do more. After all, Scorpa now had an actual position in the military, which meant she would be more busy with paperwork!!!! Right??!! Austri was trying to find the good side to her not being a part of the military. Needless to say, it wasn't working.
Austri fumbled a little with the button of her jacket, watching her friends bubble with excitement. Sure, she was excited too, but Austri couldn't help but feel a little down. She wasn't important just yet. She would be, definitely, but-- For now, Austri pushed it down, wearing the same cheerful excitement she'd been wearing since arrival, channeling only what was important. "I'm super--" Her pitch was a little too high, so she cleared her throat-- "Ahem, super excited to see it all~! Ya'll are sooo cool~" The greenblood wanted to be happy, but all she could feel was a brimming jealousy, something dark and twisted. She'd felt it before, but she'd always managed to push it down-- Now, it was just a bit harder. She was genuinely happy for her friends, but at the same time, terribly jealous. She wanted to hurt something. Maybe she could visit that gym Flydra talked about.

"HEMERA!?!" Elidae threw her arms around the tealblood in a friendly embrace and did a small wiggle as she did so. It probably wasn't the most professional course of action, but it wasn’t as if the area wasn’t more easy going. She began to rattle off, derailing her conversation with Leeroi. "Oh my gosh, it's so great to see you! How’ve you been? You’re looking paler than usual, are you alright? I mean- it's not like you don’t look like you’re alright but I thought- I’m guessing you’re here for military duty- i mean obviously because you can't be here without doing so but-" Elidae took a huge gulp of air and then- "Oh! Uhhh." For a moment, the yellowblood seemed uncertain about what to say or do when she remembered Leeroi’s presence, but her thinkpan caught up with her soon after and her expression seemed to light up as if she had a “duh!!” moment. "Oh, wait! You guys know each other, right?!" Elidae looked between them in utter excitement, completely oblivious. Her lookstubs caught a surprising sight and her eyes glittered even more as she pointed at the pin on Hemera’s uniform. “Hemera, you’ve got a different pin!!”
Gl!tch~ Sorry for the such a late tag >m<;;;

"Elidae..." Mera started, but her words got railroaded. "Eli-" Nope. "El-" Double nope. She'd just have to let the yellowblood get through all her thoughts before Mera could jump in. Meanwhile, she stood rigid in the hug because if anyone was not used to affectionate contact, it was Hemera. But with Elidae, it was fine, expected, and would be worrying after a hot second if she didn't get up in one's personal bubble.
Lord, did she know how to talk. Annnd brought them back to...current awkward situations. Mera rubbed the back of her neck. "Yes. Um. I got promoted to sergeant."
She chanced an awkward glance at Leeroi. He called her Moachm. Clearly he was trying to be standoffish and pissed off at her still, but. She kind of liked being referred to by her last name. "Um, hello, Leeroi." And, also, she was going to be the better troll, here. "I didn't notice you before. I apologize. I hope you're doing well."
And, yes, context. To some degree. "We...certainly worked together during the space race." God, so awkward. Mera started to wonder if she might actually be in hell.
"I'm fine, Elidae." And she would, fine as ever, barf in what was potentially her own office later. But not now, in public. Silver lining! "And I'm glad to see you again, and I think it's grand you're joining the military. But how are you? The last time I saw you, it was on television. I still can't believe it!" She was able to smile, just a little.

The corners of Leeroi's mouth tugged into an instinctive snarl. This was hell. This was awkward and the conversation wasn't about him and it was hell. How Elidae and Mera knew each other, he didn't know. He didn't care. Staring down Hemera, his silence was telling. In reaction to Hemera's greeting, he simply puffed a breath of hot air, snarl twisting even more. Hands in his pockets, they pulled at the fabric, unconsciously attempting to curb his rising anger. "We...certainly worked together during the space race."Leeroi couldn't take it. He laughed, loud and intentionally cruel. "Yeah, sure. Okay." He said, stifling another laugh. "We have a very professional relationship, sure." Leeroi nodded emphatically, giving a wide-eyed, tight-lipped smile. He was not a subtle troll, to say the least. He took a step backward, indicating he was, in fact, done with this conversation. For a short moment, he stopped and looked at Elidae. "It was good to see you again," he said, some genuine kindness peeking through his now sour mood. He took another step back, spinning on his heels to walk away. Back turned, a half-salute was all he offered Mera as a goodbye.

Leeroi's sudden laughter startled Elidae. It sounded much different than just moments before. Giving him her attention, she blinked wide eyes and opened her mouth, but no sound came out. Closing her mouth, she smiled rigidly and stood her place, looking between them. The charming and engaging blueblood seemed to disappear with a heavy blanket of aggression, and Elidae had a difficult time wrapping her thankpan around it. Although, it certainly reminded her of another troll.
"Y-Yeah! See you around!" Elidae squeaked back, giving a short wave. Her voice then grew weak and uncertain as he walked away. "Maybe??"
Turning back to Hemera, Elidae's tight lipped smile strained further and her eyes darted around. "Uhhhh!" When Leeroi vanished from eyesight, Elidae scratched awkwardly on her cheek and somewhat relaxed.
"Huh!" She finally said, uncertain what to make of the outburst from Leeroi meant. It seemed silly for her to hold onto the almost-kind-of-nice-but-still-kinda--extremely-prickly farewell he gave her, but a perturbed feeling in her gut remained because... well, how he spoke to her friend. What could Hemera have said or done to trigger such a ridiculous reaction from him? Elidae fiddled with the cuff links on her sleeves. "So, uh." She started, not wanting to change the topic to get the good a reason why, but she also wanted to address Hemera. She laughed awkwardly. "Yeah! I mean- I saw you, too! It was a fun experience!" Or, some of it was fun, at least. "I watched a rerun of the finale- you did so well!! And- who was that you were with?!" Before Mera could even reply, Elidae couldn't contain herself and jumped ship.
"I'm sorry- what just happened?"

Mera watched Leeroi go, but briefly, left shaking her head and grumbling, "Honestly?" to herself. Lord help whoever his lieutenant was, if he couldn't be bothered to act professional where it mattered to. Mera tried keep herself together while Elidae was assessing the situation. Her gut filled with annoyance, shame, regret, wishing for so many things to not have happened. Namely, ever meeting the blueblood in the first place. Why did she bother with anything? Ever? She should have known better.
She had to cut off the thought process with Elidae taking her to task and all. Mera sighed and rubbed her temples, shutting her eyes tight as she did so. "It's...complicated, Elidae. And the space here is too public. I'm not letting him drag me into making anymore public spectacles, that's for sure. The important thing is that he's an absolute a** and the less I see of him, the better it is for all parties involved. Alternia is cruel enough as it is, I don't need him-" Mera cut herself off there. She needed to take a deep breath, keep in mind where she was. Yes. This was fine.
"Elidae, I understand your confusion and I apologize, but can we please talk about literally anything else?"

The lips of the yellowblood remained tightly sealed in a faux smile. Hemera clearly displayed signs of distress and Elidae didn't want to cause her friend any more strain, despite the overwhelming urge to shake her and tell her what was going on. Still, Hemera did leak some information and, well, it didn't really satisfy Elidae but only made her want to ask more questions. It took a lot of willpower for the yellow bowed troll to withdraw the topic.
"O-Okay! Hey- like, we can totally go grab a bite to eat? Talk more about what you've been up to? Or you can show me your new office! Tell me what it feels like!" Clapping twice, Elidae bounced on her heels in excitement, before her face lit up with realization and a gasp. Throwing up a salute, she stood straight with her other arm to her side and grinned. "Sergeant Moachm!"

The conversation felt over, and for a moment Psykgi dreaded the awkward small talk that she would have to -- clearly -- pull out of the orangeblood like blood from a stone. Of course, she could, that was literally her job, but... She looked over across the room to see... Was that Leeroi walking off in a huff? That was unusual - usually, if something bothered him, it resulted in a brawl not a sulk. Metaphorically sometimes - but Leeroi was a fighter. Which meant that something had to really have bothered him. And that is a troubling thought. She frowned at the tealblood and the yellowblood standing there, but couldn't see what had caused... whatever it was. Well, she could find out. "Excuse me!" she said to the orangeblood, "I need to report in - see you later!" she said, trying to be reassuring as she waved goodbye. And then she was off -- in the general direction of Leeroi, though with some detours along the way. He needed a little space first, after all... and then she could go to him. And see what the heck had happened to upset him so... and what she could do to help. Quote: I've been wanting to write this 'exit stage left' for weeks... OTL
