Natron frowned. How much had changed, while he was in crystal? He'd lost his youma, clearly, though he supposed that if it was going to be to anyone, he could be content losing him to Fangite. He would, after all, still be around, probably.
"I--" He started, and then suddenly he had an armful of sobbing Fangite, and he wrapped his arms around him and just held on, making quiet soothing noises. "I know. I'm sorry," he said, like that was even remotely sufficient. "I didn't want to, but I couldn't lose you, starshine." He took a breath. "I'm not -- you did what you thought was best. If you'd come back, you might've just ended up crystallized too. Fangite, you're all I have left, I couldn't lose you." He closed his eyes and pressed his face into Fangite's hair, enjoying how solid he was in his arms. "I'm alive. I'm okay. You came back for me. It's okay."

"I thought you were dead." He sobbed. "No I didn't! I ran and hid! I should have come back... I should have brought you home! Even if... Even if you were dead. But I didn't... I didn't." He muttered, growing quiet. "It's not okay! I... did things... that I shouldn't have... and I didn't do things that I should've.. I'm sorry." The Captain curled in on himself, making himself as small as possible in Natron's arms. He lay there crying and sobbing until eventually his whimpers stopped, and Fangite lay still. "He's passed out." Airi said, moving to collect the Captain. "We better get him out of here before his glamour fades." The wolf stood on his hind legs, cradling Fangite in one arm. "Get us out of here Amazon." His gaze then flicked to Natron. "What about you... Can you walk?"

Natron held onto Fangite as he cried himself out, stroking his hair and making soothing noises until he felt the man go limp and still in his arms. He wanted to argue the point, but it wasn't going to be worth it, not really.
He started to stand, trying to take Fangite with him, but groaned in pain and handed him over when Airi tried to take him.
"Powering down here would be incredibly dangerous," he agreed, slowly straightening and trying to keep himself upright. It wasn't easy, but he at least wasn't passing out. "s**t," he breathed.Amazonite nodded. "Let's get going." She offered Natron her shoulder to lean on, and he gladly took it, letting out a tiny sigh. Amazonite was pleased to see that he was, at the least, retaining consciousness, because the last thing she wanted to deal with was dragging a six-foot man all the way back through the Rift.

Airi huffed, ears swiveling back on his head as he contemplated what to do. "I mean... It's no more dangerous than leaving him with a personal youma who just had their bond shattered." He muttered flatly, as he readjusted Fangite into one arm. He then shot Amazonite a flat look. "The second he trips over his own feet, he squishes you. Just, go lead the way out of here. I've got them." The youma grumbled, as he reached over and grabbed a fistful of Natron's jacket and hauled him up onto a shoulder. "Painfully, might I add. If memory serves, Fangite here thought it would be a wise decision to throw me over his shoulders and carry me out. It's a wonder he didn't get even more hurt then he already was. Why he didn't just seek me out after all was over with, I'll never know." The wolf shrugged his free shoulder, causing Fangite to groan slightly. "He's been... miserable, to say the least. Just be ready for that."

Amazinote surrendered Natron easily, shrugging. "As long as you've got them both," she said dryly, not eager to complain about having the burden lifted off her shoulders, especially when she suspected that General Natron was not going to make it all the way out of the Rift still conscious.
Instead, she took the lead, following the path they'd taken in back out of the caverns and into the Rift.Natron made a noise of protest as he was tossed over Airi's back like an oversized sack of potatoes, and then exhaled, going limp. "You don't have to carry me," he said bitterly, "I was doing fine." He squeezed his eyes shut. "I know I made mistakes. But you and he are both still alive, aren't you?"
That was what mattered. They were all alive.
He sagged against Airi's back and fell silent.

"You have four options." Airi snapped back, bearing his teeth once more. "Choice one, you figure out how to sit yourself on a shoulder, or both if you can avoid the spikes. Choice two, you get carried like Fangite. Choice three, I throw you over my shoulder regardless and I carry you out fireman style. Or if you prefer, choice four is I leave you high and dry, right here, right now and we see how far you get on your own. Amazonite won't be able to support your weight if you pass out, enhanced capabilities or not and we all know that. Now pick before I decide for you." Airi didn't have the time to deal with this. Fangite was his first priority, even if Natron was his first Captain. "I need to get him back to the house before things escalate anymore then they already have. It's up to you if you're there when he wakes up or not." The youma snarled. "Des may be alive, but that does not mean he has been living.

Amazonite kept her mouth shut; it felt unwise to get in the middle of this fight. Let Airi snap at the General all he liked; she was content to continue leading them out of the Rift, because she wanted to go home and curl up with some popcorn and a horror movie. Maybe Frankenstein. That was always a good choice.Natron exhaled. "Carry me however you like," he said, a little bitterly. The problem was, he could recognize that Airi was right. "This isn't terrible." He could feel himself losing consciousness, which was irritating. He'd just woken up; surely he could manage to keep his eyes open until they were out of the Rift.
"I'm...sorry. For failing you. And him." He said, and then he blinked and was out like a light.

"Fine." He muttered, readjusting Natron so that he rested against his shoulder, but sat on his arm. He'd been about to respond to the General when he felt him go slack. "...Well that happened sooner then I expected.." Airi sighed, following after Amazonite. "We might want to grab a cat or something to suppress my aura or something, otherwise you're going to have to drag them into the house..."
They'd figure it out when they got there.
