Right after Adenium proves that its safe enough Dark Chocolate races over to the next tree to give it a try. Once he gets up to the tree trunk he lifts his front paws up, places them on the three, and then shakes it as well as he can before hurrying away. Because the trees aren’t too tall and or too large it’s easy enough to shake the snow from the. With each new tree they shake free of snow the more excited they become as they race from tree to tree in an almost race. Seeing as they have to get away from the snow because they don’t want to test how much it will or won’t hurt. Which might be why it’s so exciting because there is that small amount of danger while still being safe enough so he doesn’t have to worry about either Adenium or himself getting hurt. Before long they’ve made it halfway to the lake as they run out of energy and decide to take a break as they lay against each other. What feels like hours later is only about half an hour before they gain back enough energy to head back home. Still laying there Dark Chocolate explains, “I’d be glad to carry you back because seeing as I am getting cold which means you must be getting cold as well. If you let me carry you home we’ll both be helping each other to warm up enough by the time we get home. Once we get there you can get the basket, fill it water, and then we can fill it with frozen berries so that way we get to help each other. Having pointed out that I helped you twice yesterday I thought you might want to help more today if not I am fine with carrying the basket.” Dark Chocolate waits for Adenium to climb on his back because he made a good point so once she gets on and then seems comfortable enough he stands up to make his way home.

After she filled the basket with water and frozen berries Adenium had taken the time to talk with Ruby, Alora, and Hiroshi Joji about the trees. Before Dark Chocolate has time to miss her Adenium walks over to him to explain, “I knew they would want to help and now that they know what’s going on they will go as soon as they gather their own supplies to take with them. Seeing as I explained that we take a basket with us that’s filled with water and frozen berries which they thought was a good idea. Because they already knew about the lid I didn’t need to tell them about that so there wasn’t too much that I had to explain which is why I came back so soon. Now that I am here I’ll carry the basket while you carry me? When you offered to carry me home I wasn’t about to turn your offer down because you made a very good point. Like when you said that I would carry the basket to gather the water while you would help once we got to the frozen berries. It shows that you listened very carefully to what I said as well as remembered it which I didn’t doubt you would. I’m just glad that you feel comfortable enough around me to bring up things that I talked about with you anywhere from hours to days ago. Because no matter what happens you shouldn’t be afraid to bring something up that I said or be afraid to talk with me about whatever is going on. I’ll do the same with you because I know that relationships such as Family, Friendship, and Mates isn’t going to be easy seeing as things are always changing.” Walking up to Dark Chocolate she nuzzles him several times because they enjoy being close to each other as well as rubbing against each in a loving manner. It shows the other how much they care about them and or they are trying to comfort the other for one reason or another.

Brightly smiling and blushing he kisses the left side of her face before laying down so she can get on his back. “It’s wonderful that they are going to help because as far as we know there might be other creatures that walk those paths at some point. Which means they won’t have to do anything unless they find prints of some kind along one of the paths. If they don’t they can enjoy a nice walk or run with each other until they get someplace to rest, eat, and drink. Of course, I wonder if Hiroshi Joji will fly because it’s getting rather cold out and I don’t know much about butterfly like wings. Even if they look fragile to me doesn’t mean they are so when I get the chance I’ll ask him about them and how strong they really are.” While Adenium gets on his back he waits until she is comfortable enough while she sits up this time needing to place the basket between his shoulders. As he stands up he does his best not to drop either Adenium or the basket because she’s never sat on his back before and hope everything goes well. Once he turns towards the path he begins walking as he continues, “It was a good idea to tell them about us taking a basket with water and frozen berries in case they didn’t think of it. Seeing as any sort of walk or run becomes tiring after a while and because there are so many it’ll be a good idea to have something to eat and drink as they rest to regain their energy.” By the time they reach the start of the path he hasn’t said anything because he’s not sure if she’ll say anything about what he’s said so far once they get to where they left off. Seeing as she’s holding onto him with her paws and the basket with her mouth so there’s no way she can talk with him about what he said even if she wanted to.

By the time they get to the half way mark Dark Chocolate carefully lays down so that Adenium can get off with the basket since it’s been a while since they had anything to eat or drink. Of course, she places the basket in front of Dark Chocolate before and while he eats she coos, “That’s a very good question because butterfly wings do look rather fragile because of how skinny they are so maybe one day we can go together. You can ask and I’ll cuddle up against you while we both listen to his answer because he has to know seeing as they are his wings and they are attached to him. Then again, I have this Peach on my head and I have no idea why it’s there or what I should do with it. So maybe there is a chance that he won’t know too much about his wings and if that’s the case we could always try finding someone else with wings that look like his and ask them.” Then agreeing with he said early she replies, “Thank you, I wanted to be sure that they knew because it really is helpful information if they are going to travel far enough from home. It’s always best to have food and drinks in case something happens which prevents someone from returning home as soon as they want to. Of course, the only thing I can think of is if a pile of snow fell on someone which would slow them from returning home. Or if there was a snow storm which was strong enough so that they could see their way home and possibly make it impossible to smell their way home. Which isn’t something we have to worry about because I can find my way home by following even hours old scents in the cold.” To assure Dark Chocolate that they are perfectly safe she nuzzles him several more times, though, mostly because she can’t help herself. Before pull her head away she kisses the right side of his face feeling more than comfortable with being kissed on the side of her face or kissing him on the side of his face. She might not be completely used to it, though, she wouldn’t want him to stop either because it’s only every so often while always random.

Even though Adenium finished by kissing him he still felt a bit uneasy that she brought up snow piles and snow storms. Feeling rather uncomfortable he doesn’t know how to reply to her without showing some sort of fear for both of them. Now that the idea of snow piles falling on them swirls around his mind as well as the idea of being caught in a snow storm even if she can lead him home. As he tries to clear his mind of those thoughts Adenium senses that he’s upset about something and decides to eat while hoping it wasn’t what she said. While Adenium eats he tries to think about how fast they both are which starts to calm him down because it reassures him that he doesn’t have to worry about that. Though, that still leaves the snow storm seeing as if the storm is bad enough they wouldn’t be able to get far enough if the wind is too strong for them. Which means they could be trapped out here for hours if not all night which only causes him to quietly panic to himself because he doesn’t want them to get trapped out here. Knowing that Adenium could look up to see if he’s alright he tries his best to calm himself knowing full well that if they see a storm approaching they will head home as quickly as possible. That is unless the snow storm comes up behind them then they won’t know until it’s too late and the snow storm is already here. As he only seems to worry himself more by thinking he hurries to the nearest tree to play the snow game they made up before he loses whatever it is. Seeing as deep breathing won’t work if his breaths are coming in fast and sharp causing him enough pain to want to cry out. He doesn’t want to convince Adenium to go home, though, he’s not feeling comfortable out here after she brought that up. Knowing that she would never purposefully say something to upset him Dark Chocolate tries to see it the way Adenium did when she told him about it.

By the time she finishes drinking she looks up to realize that it really was something she said because she’s never seen Dark Chocolate so panicked. After putting the lid back on the basket she hurries after Dark Chocolate to help him knock snow off of the tree while remembering that she has to be careful with her words. Having said snow piles and or snow storm in a sentence would have been bad enough, though, she said both of them so she understand that he’s freaking out. He’s so worried about her, though, he doesn’t want to ruin their day be going back so she decides it’s best to let him calm himself down before she says anything else to him. By now if Dark Chocolate sees her coming he might forget to avoid the snow pile which would only add to her growing guilt. Of course, she did explain to him not too long ago that relationships aren’t going to be easy, though, she didn’t expect to prove just how difficult they could be in the same day. By the time she gets to the last tree on her side of the path she slams her paws into with such fury and guilt for having mentioned the snow piles and sow storm. Yet, after her paws made contact she doesn’t move as the piles of snow rush towards her. Dark Chocolate had run out of trees so he had turned to watch her seeing as she didn’t saying anything to him nor did she try to approach him. So the instant he sees that she isn’t moving he rushes up behind her knowing that he has to protect Adenium at all cost. While quickly, yet gently, pushing Adenium down while under himself to do the best that he can to shield her entire body with his as the snow collapse onto his back. Seeing as he’d moved his head and tail under him to keep them as safe as he possible could. All the while Adenium doesn’t notice wasn’t going on because she’s let her guilt overcome her and seems to have lost herself in her thoughts.

Once he settles down Dark Chocolate realizes that he might be in pain, though, it’s nothing he can’t handle. Luckily the last tree on Adenium’s side had about half the amount of snow that the others trees had if not less which means it wasn’t something that he couldn’t handle. Having lived though one of his fears Dark Chocolate feels better about what Adenium said until he remembers. Staring right at her he nuzzles her nose a few times which doesn’t seem to work because her thoughts are too deep like his had been. Dark Chocolate knows that they can talk with each other about anything that might be bothering them and especially something that is bothering them. Yet, they both become overwhelmed with a certain emotions and or emotions that they were faced with and couldn’t bring themselves to face the other because they wanted to calm down. Next time something like this happens he’ll talk with Adenium no matter how it feels to talk about a certain subject or emotion. Knowing that if he had talked with Adenium instead of rushing away to calm himself Adenium never would have felt guilty for upsetting him. It might have been something she said, though, it was something he didn’t say that upset her enough to unconsciously endanger herself. Needing to fix what he started he begins to nuzzle the top of her head to get her attention so that she can dig a tunnel out. Knowing that if he moves first the snow will collapse into the small area of empty space which will only make their situation worse. While he nuzzling her Dark Chocolate wonders if they will tell the others about what happened because they will both be more than embarrassed about how they behaved. Or at least that’s how he feels so once he gets through to Adenium he can ask her because if she says she wants to tell them he won’t disagree. If she’s willing to keep it to themselves they can tell their young ones what happened so they can hopefully avoid ending up in a situation like this.

As Dark Chocolate begins to get through to her she almost drops the basket until she remembers that she’s holding in. Slightly tightening her grip on it she slowly lifts her head to find out just why Dark Chocolate is standing over her when she realize they are trapped. It was something she said and now it has come true because of them seeing as they both had a part to play. Blushing she nods her head before laying down so that she can turn all the way around to dig out the back of the snow. As she begins to dig she slightly packs the snow so that it will be less likely to fall around her as well as remembers to dig it large enough so that they won’t bump against it. That is when Dark Chocolate comes through the tunnel that she’s making so that they won’t be trapped for much longer. By the time she reaches the outside she walking far enough away to place the basket down before she backs up to retrieve Dark Chocolate. If he moves the snow will collapse around him which will only make the situation worse for both of them. He’ll probably be frightened with nothing but snow around him and she’ll feel that much worse for not moving out of the way. Once she gets close enough to Dark Chocolate she steadies herself as she reaches her back paws in an attempt to try something new and hopefully helpful. When her paws gently touch his she quickly moves her paws under his paws so that she has something to hold onto as she pulls him out. Before anything else happens she quickly, yet carefully, digs her front claws into the snow underneath her to get Dark Chocolate out of the area. Knowing that if he was able to dig a tunnel out he wouldn’t have bothered to bring her out of her thoughts. So by the time they get out of the tunnel she falls to the ground from exhaustion having never pulled anyone from any danger of any kind.

After a while of resting Dark Chocolate replies, “Well, I never saw anything of that happening today and I’m sure you didn’t either so I just want to say I am fine with whatever you want to do about it. If you want to tell the others I’ll tell them with you so we’ll both get in trouble at the same time because they are going to be furious with us for not being more careful. I can’t blame them, though, I am also more than happy to keep it from them so that we can tell our young ones. That way by the time one of our young ones tells the others it would be too late for them to be upset with us or as upset with us by then.” Holding Adenium close to him he coos, “This was the most frightening thing we have ever done and I just want to say I wouldn’t change anything about it because it was a lesson we needed to learn. I should have told you how upsetting it was for you to bring up being piled with snow and a snow storm. Seeing as I never want anything like that to happen to us, well, happen again for the snow pile that is. While I must assume that anytime now we’ll get a snow storm because today just wouldn’t be complete with one of those.” Turning his head Dark Chocolate comforts Adenium by kissing the left side of her face as much as possible to show that there are no bad feelings between them because they share the responsibility for their actions.

While the guilt lifts from her Adenium blushes from how wise, understanding, and loving Dark Chocolate can really be. Before she does anything she deeply inhales, holds it a while, and then deeply exhales, “After I saw how upset you had become I realized that it was that I talked about those two things and I only felt worse when I didn’t talk with you about how I felt. Having been the one that upset you I didn’t think you wanted me to talk with you until you calmed down. I also didn’t think you wanted me to approach you because I was sure I would only makes matter worse. After hearing you talk about the situation so calmly I began to calm down because I knew you weren’t upset with me. Knowing that you weren’t upset helped me to feel much better about what happened and reminds me that it was a very good lesson which we will never forget.” Slowly turning her face to give Dark Chocolate the chance to stop kissing her she coos, “After you selflessly used your body as a shield to protect me I will never let you forget because that was the most wonderful thing that anyone has ever done for me.” Smiling a sly sort of smile Adenium coos, “Dark Chocolate that is the most wonderful idea I’ve ever heard because there is no way I am telling them after you reminded me how upset they will be once they do find out. Yet, if one of our young ones told them, well, they would be too young and too cute for the others to become upset.” Quickly getting up Adenium carefully checks Dark Chocolate’s back to make sure that it isn’t hurt enough to cause him to even whimper. She plans on Dark Chocolate carrying her back as long as his back is alright because her front claws, paws, and legs aren’t. She slammed her paws into the tree to get the snow out then used her front claws, paws, and legs to pull Dark Chocolate to safety. Once Dark Chocolate passes her inspection she gently climbs onto his back not wishing to stay here another minute if she can help it.

By the time they get home Dark Chocolate place the basket in the middle of their home before walking to up to Adenium’s box knowing full well that she had placed cloth in it that Hiroshi Joji had given her. As her opens the box he can hear Adenium coo because she didn’t know that Dark Chocolate knew about the cloth. After carefully picking up the colorful cloth he walks over to Adenium’s nest bed to place it on the bottom and then sides while placing the rest to the side. Knowing that her paws must be hurting her Dark Chocolate walks into her nest bed so when he lays down he can gently roll onto his side to let her off of his back as gently as possible. Once Adenium is laying down he moves closer to her before lifting the rest of the cloth over them to keep them more than warm during the night. Now that they are safe and sound it would almost be too easy to forget what happened, though, Adenium was right about not being able to forget it. After hearing her kind words his heart feels like it’s overflowing with love for her seeing as what doesn’t kill them will make them stronger. While they close their eyelids all they can think about is how much the other one loves them to have done what they did.
