I can't remember that bit...But they missed out a few things. But you can't expect them to put every little detail in.

<[Movies = notsogood. Especially if you're a big Marauders fan (like myself), they just miss out too much stuff. The books, on the other hand...well I've read PS/SS alone 53 times, which might give you an idea of how much I luff them.]>

Crap. Just noticed that the movie didn't have the scene with Sirius/dog and Buckbeak.

Yeah, the books are always better than the movies. Because books let you use imagination. ^_^

I like the movies, but I haven't read the books. Movies are a different art form. One has to appreciate the art form itself and evaluate the movies against other movies, not against the books. Holding out against the movie because you think the book is better is like saying beef wellington is better than peppermint ice cream. They're really too different to compare very well.
As a person who is into screenwriting and visual effects, I really believe the HP movies are some of the best around. They move along, they have a plot and subplots that interweave, they all converge at the end, the loose ends are tied up, there's good character development, the action is broken up with serious or funny moments, it's a thoroughly professional and amazing-looking product done by extremely talented individuals.
Can you tell ... I'm a movie person?
By the way, I'm hearing the same objections about the DaVinci Code, which came out here yesterday ... that it doesn't hold up well to the book, even though it's two and a half hours long. We'll see ...

I heard the same thing about Da Vinci Code. I haven't seen the movie yet; I think I'm going to see it with my boyfriend next week. I read the book a while ago though, and really enjoyed it.
