Dawson pat her back gently. It's okay."Somethin'll happen," he said, hoping it sounded assuring. "That's how this stuff works, right? If we remember, it's 'cause there's a glitch in the system. And if there's one, that means there's gonna be more." He sounded confident about this. "Maybe it'll overload itself, n' that'll be when we can strike. You saw, there's gotta be loads've us!" (He had to be confident about this.) Heck, Dawson convinced himself a little and smiled. "Good guys always win."

Maebe never considered herself a good guy. But when Dawson said it, she never argued the point, either. She smiled at his optimism, and leaned up to kiss his nose. "Fine. Then we wait for the right time to strike. And then we lay this b***h low until we get to the root cause of what's messing with our heads this time. Just watch me, Dawson. If I get my hands on whoever's doing this, I'm coming home with a souvenir."

He wrinkled his nose, pleased. "I'll just make sure you leave in one piece." Dawson frankly didn't want further reminders of what happened here; he could get the necessary information from other people afterwards. If they got out. When, he corrected himself. "On that note: think we should sabotage anythin'?" Maebe did say to lay low, but maybe they could slow something down, leave a souvenir themselves.

Now he was speaking their language. She lit up like a light bulb, clearly pleased to be even considering the option of sabotage. "I thought you'd never ask. But it's got to be something that affects the people behind this, not the other Horsemen. That might just be more Hunters. What about the crystal? We could go try to break it some more."

He nodded enthusiastically. "Yeah, maybe say we're investigatin' it and have a lil' accident--" Dawson shuddered. There was fear in his eyes for a moment, his mouth parted slightly but with no words escaping. No no no no--! He grabbed Maebe's arm as if to ask for help, but it was too late. In the breadth of a blink, Dawson was gone. And Bjorn fixed her with a very, very confused look. "Ah. My apologies, I am feeling light headed..."

She loved this idea. She loved that they were going to cause a little mayhem before they were no longer in control, as if the idea of losing their very existence didn't scare them as much as it should. As if they could sit here and laugh, without worry of any looming timer over their heads. Her eyes never left his, so they caught the moment fear seeped into them. She watched the man she loved fade away, and something else - something not real take his place. But she refused to give them her fear. She refused to give them that. When she faded back into oblivion, and the Horsewoman was left still sitting in Bjorn's lap, she blinked several times in confusion, and then laughed. "Did I black out for a second? We were there.. and now we're here.." It wasn't that big of a change, and yet it was enough to startle her.

Bjorn hummed a sigh, musing. And then he began to grin as he poked Maebe's nose. "You mummified minx! Did you poison me? Confound my mind to play a game? Would I taste something should I kiss you?"

Maebe blinked, and tried to remember if she had poisoned him. Wouldn't be entirely out of the ordinary for her. But she couldn't remember getting any poison, or any kind of drug for that matter.. She pressed her fingers to her lips, rubbing them gently just to see if she could feel anything there. Then she looked up at him, and her lower lip disappeared between her teeth. "I can't remember. You should try and find out." Ah, but she did remember what he'd been up to, just before everything had gone dark. The flush on her cheeks as she asked for a kiss was a telling giveaway of that sudden return of memory.

The absence of what seemed like a few minutes didn't bother Bjorn nearly as much. He was used to losing pieces of time: in battle, from concussions due to those battles, from booze, from lack of sleep...For all he knew, it could have been another effect from the broken crystal, or from waking up in the Famine floor earlier that day. No, the only thing that bothered him was that he should have been lying down instead of sitting up. There was an unspoken gladly as Bjorn pulled her in, at first gentle and then quickly moving past it. They had had years of tension now, and even someone as patient as the guardian couldn't help himself.
