It had been a long few months for the little Fey. Since the ... incident. In truth, she only remember snatches of what had happened, but what she did remember still made her squirm with discomfort. And then there was, of course, the recovery. And the treatment. And being always monitored. It was a lot. Enough to take a certain sunshiney edge off of a Daydream.
Niamh had been keeping to herself since she'd been out of the hospital. She hadn't even seen him. Most of her memories from the ... incident ... seemed to focus around what she'd done to him during the final battle. She shook her head, and jammed her suitcase into the compartment.
She wasn't exactly sure what had prompted her sign up for this trip. Perhaps subconsciously she's seen the word 'familiars' and wondered if he'd be here. She climbed the steps into the coach and scanned the crowd. She'd been right. He was here. The tiny Fey froze, unsure of what to do. Would he even want to see her?

Aedus looked up to see the one being he treasured in this world, but he also feared, he feared that she hated him. Blamed him for failing to protect her like he promised she had tried to tear him apart Aedus had been helpless to save her. If it hadn't been for someone else grabbing Nimah at the end of the battle Aedus might have lost her forever, he had failed her so much. Aedus preyed to the nine that she had room in her heart to forgive him. Aedus said nothing but moved over to make room at his seat for her to sit next to him if she chose. He had no words, he wouldn't beg forgiveness since he should have been the one bitten not her.

Praline slithered onto the coach, and swept the hair out of their eye. It was, of course, important to look good, but also important to see all of their potential charges. Plus they were wearing a fabulous shirt, anyhow. If their hair got a little mussed, life would go one.
Praline scanned the seated students, smiling to themselves. There didn't appear to be too, too many young ones, which was their usual specialty. Oh well, it would still be good experience. After all, this trip could clearly count towards caregiving experience. Even if it wasn't Praline's desired age group.
Looking around, Praline spotted what they hoped was another chaperon. They sidled over, hoping for an updated. "Hey, are you a chaperon, too? I was running a little late, did I miss anything important?" Releasing their lapse in manner, they quickly tacked on, "I'm Praline, by the way."
Kivras Praline is saying hi to Sprite!

x Roshan took a step back, startle at the other's reaction. They watched some of the feathers float to the ground. Apparently Roshan had startled the boy. They were about to retract their question when the seat was relinquished to them. "Thank you," Roshan said, returning the other's smile. They took their aisle seat and got comfortable. "Sorry if I scared you. I didn't mean to." Roshan curled their legs up, pining their bag between their chest and their knees. "My name is Roshan, by the way."Bag contains: a phone, a bit of money, two water salves (hopefully enough for this leg of the trip), a math game book, coloring books, and crayons Kivras Sorry for the two quotes?

She watched as Aedus scooted over the in seat after catching sight of her. She hoped that was a signal, a sort of forgiveness. She approached nervously, plastering a smile on her face. She fingered the blister pack of pills in her pocket. How could she not, seeing him? It was a bit of a fight to keep her smile in place. She alighted on the seat next to him, beaming.
She opted to just jump into it. That was approximately as much preplanning as she ever managed. "Here for the familiars?" She beamed. Her insides felt like they were knotted up. In a quieter voice she added "It's been a long time, hey?" Her fingers slipped back into her pocket, running along the edge of the blister pack. Along the edge of what kept in from returning to that ... thing she'd become. But it was best not to think about such things.

Suhail nodded his understanding, then looked back down at Saiya. When Anukhet complained, he gave a low chuckle. "Territorial, aren't they?" he said to her, before adding, "You shouldn't hurt your master's toes," to the familiar. He pulled another cookie out of the package and offered it to Saiya in an attempt to move them just a little. "Are you sure you don't want one?" he asked Anukhet. It occurred to him at that moment oh, wait, some people actually watched their figures and monitored their diets and all those things. Oops.

x Arthur had ended up as a chaperon because a friend of a friend offered him up instead of themselves. Thankfully the Naga history was something Arthur was actually intrigued by otherwise he would have had one less friend. (Not really, but they would have owed him a drink or two... They might still.) The main problem is that he was not a morning person. Six o'clock was way too early. Arthur found himself blurry eyed, still rubbing at sleep, dropping off his bags and dragging himself into the carriage. He took the very first seat he could find and sipped on his warm drink. Thankfully, despite being only mentally half-there, Arthur could still be cheery. He smiled and nodded at children as they walked by even waved to those he sort-of knew. Bag: a tablet that has a bazillion books, some of which are history related, a notebook and a writing utensil musicaloner7 Feel free to have yours either already sitting (and Arthur took the aisle seat) or have him walk on after Arthur has already sat.

Saiya glowered reproachfully at the proffered treat. Did the other Grimm really think this ploy would work a second time? With an indignant huff they crawled up onto Anu's lap, sprawling across it and spilling over onto Su's. With a happy sigh, they lowered their head onto their Grimm's already occupied lap, leaving Su with... their other half. With an exasperated exclamatory sound, Anu tried to juggle lap, bag, book, and Spectrefox and in the end had to sacrifice the book to the bag. Leaving her the next thing to puzzle over... how to stow her bag with a hulking familiar in the way. "More like a self-appointed body guard..." Turning to face him, she gave a tired grin. "Since it seems we'll be stuck like this for a while, I ought to introduce myself. I'm Anukhet. Saiya you've already met."Sami-Fire I see his ploy... Get Saiya too fat to move. >A> Saiya is onto you, naughty boy!

On the other hand, Iron was quite used to rising early, from years of it being ingrained into him. But on the flip side, he wasn't much of a night owl, even if he tried to be... unless of course he was stressed out with class work, which was definitely a case from time to time. But he'd managed to catch up on all of that to participate as a chaperone for the trip. Ever since meeting Ama, Iron's entire world had cracked wide opened. It'd encouraged the demon to learn more about what was unknown to him, and try new things, even if it was a bit daunting for the sheltered bab.
And boy was this a daunting trip.... yet one he was also equally excited about. He'd be going to the Swirling Sands where the neko he'd become enamored with was from. Hopefully he'd be able to learn more about the culture and land there, and-- well... gain some better experiences with interacting with youths. It'd been a big struggle for him to learn how to properly engage with youngsters, having been an only younger family members ever about. Iron was a determined man, though, and not one to break away from what he was set on.
With a rather lengthy double check, then triple check, followed by a final quadruple check of his bag containing everything necessary, Iron finally made his way to the bus. He adjusted his cravat and vest anxiously, waiting his turn to get on the bus. A wave of anxiety washed over him when he already spied that there was a lot of kids on the bus, all chatting and giggling happily, his stomach knotting nervously. Dropping his eyes to the safe, front seats, he saw that the only remaining unclaimed one already had a single passenger. Mustering up his courage, he approached Arthur, providing a polite smile and tone, "Hello, I apologize for disturbing you, but would you mind if I sat here with you? It seems the other seats are taken towards the front." .... and ok he was a scaredy babby to find a seat further down the bus... where all the kids were at.

Suhail couldn't hide a bemused smile when the familiar spread out on both their laps, making him the seat. Not subtle, this one. His grin may have spread a bit wider when the other Grimm finally turned to look at him. "I'm Suhail. Nice to meet you... and it's good to see that I'm not the only one like me here. You know what I mean, don't you?" He was, of course, referring to their shared Grimm-ness, but he realized that might not be clear. "You know... um... you're a Grimm, aren't you?" He raised his hand for a handshake, hoping that Saiya wouldn't try to smack his hand away or otherwise interrupt the greeting ritual.

- - - -Sprite's smiling face was beginning to fade. Despite doing their best to seem welcoming and inviting, the younger students simply filed in past them without even a 'hello' or 'thank you'. It wasn't even an hour into just getting onto the bus that they were already losing that good mood. About ready to give up the 'caring caregiver' schtick, Sprite's ears twitched at a voice close to them. And sure enough, someone was saying hello! About time! "I am!" They responded, bushy tail wagging back and forth excitedly, "I...guess you missed the first kid in?" giggling, they reached up to adjust their glasses before continuing. "There's a few rowdy ones, but, um, they all seem to be okay. I'm Sprite and it's nice to have you with me at the helm, Praline!"Giving an exaggerated mock-salute, they looked over the charges filling in the seats.

- - - -"It's n-not your fault. I'm j-just j-jumpy." Shion admitted, folding his wings as close to his body as he could. A few feathers still jostled loose, but overall he looked far less rustled. The little freshling was given as much space as possible, Shion almost curled up in his own seat. "B-but you're we-welcome. It's g-good to have s-someone to talk to?"
Still unsure if he was acting socially acceptable, Shion opted to shut up for a second to reach into his vest pocket and fish out a package of biscuits. Taking one himself, he then offered the pack to his seatmate.
"Mine's Sh-Shion. Sorry for being s-s-scared."

Praline grinned, pleased to have found a clear ally already. Their schooling thus far had emphasized the importance of having other adults to work with. This seemed like a good start. And they were dressed cool, too!
"I like your threads." Praline nodded appreciatively. A connoisseur of the finer things in life, they had a keen appreciation for those that were up with the trends. Scanning the coach, they spotted a pair of empty seats that offered a central view. "Want me to grab us those seats? Looks like we can scope out the whole place from their, once we're rolling. I can just toss my day bag in there, and then we can man the helm together."
Praline liked to be prepared. And seeing this trip was likely to be a solid twelve ... or more ... hours, it didn't seem wise to end up split up. Or getting stuck somewhere they couldn't see the kids.
"You go to school? I'm at the community college for child care." Praline slithered aside to allow a student past them in the aisle, giving them a warm smile.

x It took a second for Arthur to register the figure that had paused in front of him. It was a second more before the words made sense in his head. "Oh, right, yeah, sure," Arthur said with a bashful smile. He scooped his bag from the seat and readjusted himself to be less casual. "The bus does seem to be filling up," Arthur remarked casually. "The name's Arthur." He smiled broadly then, his love of discussion kicking in, as he attempted to strike up a conversation. "You looking forward to our destination?"Bag: a tablet that has a bazillion books, some of which are history related, a notebook and a writing utensil

x Roshan kept the smile but dimmed it. They found someone calling themselves 'jumpy' funny but thought it might be rude to think so. At least the other was apparently okay with having a seatmate. Most people tend to dislike them if they weren't already friends. This made Roshan feel a little more relaxed about alarming the boy. Roshan perked up at the offering of the biscuits and took one happily. They munched on it as they wiggled happily in their seat. "Thank you," they chimed, remembering their manners. They took a second to swallow before talking again. "It's nice to meet you, Shion."Thinking about what their mother would say, Roshan picked a point for conversation. "Are you here cause you're interested in the, um... desert?" Roshan had realized halfway through their question that they couldn't remember the full name of the desert. Hopefully they had pulled it off. Their tendrils turning a light magenta was /not/ giving it away.
