Not having tea as an option was always rather disappointing, but nothing he couldn't overcome - the water spigot worked well enough for an option, despite paying full price for a soda. Perhaps if he was feeling adventurous, he'd try for their lemonade when it came time for a refill.
Setting the drink on the table, he offered her a passing wink as he turned back towards the counter, where the cook was busy retrieving fresh fries from the frying basket. The grease was drained, the fries were dabbed, seasoned and finally dumped in the parchment paper that lined the red plastic holder. Cheese was quickly piled on top of it, not wasting any of the molten heat still coming off of the potatoes. Overall, the container looked cheap - it probably was cheap - but the smell alone made his stomach growl and the trip worth it.
He set the basket down on the table and moved to take a chair... but paused, brown eyes glancing over towards her, then towards the seat he'd chosen across from her. Without saying a word, he slid the chair over towards her, creating a new seat for himself beside where she sat.
"Hope you don't mind," Came the casual comment, the young man reaching over to drag the basket between them. "I prefer the view from this angle."
Plucking an especially cheesy-looking fry, he slid it into his mouth and began chewing, not even bothering with any condiments. He at least waited until swallowing to add, "You're the first person I've taken here, you know. I'm interested in what you think of it."
