"Y'saved my life." Alexis leaned against him, lazy, catlike. "Course I do. Feel better? We can do it 's much as you want, 'cause you need to know how to control it." It wasn't the normal absence of feeling they were used to, the one that just seemed to happen when there was too much - instead it was sort of a mellow pleasantness.

They didn't pull their hand away.

"I'd always save you," the words tumbled easily out of his mouth, "because you're Alexis and I care about you." Nasir was careful about saying other phrases but the sentiment remained. He cared about them a great deal.

"I think maybe again later?" His fingers squeezed. "Not that ... feeling more confident and believing in myself isn't a good thing to have."

"Later then," replied Nasir. "For now I just ... want to sit here and drink hot chocolate and be with my very close friend." His arm squeezed around them, leaning towards and letting out a sigh.

Nasir would do exactly as he said, stay there with them. It would be until he fell asleep and would have to be woken back up. Apparently the magic wore him out but at least he had been bolstered by Alexis's own faith in him.

That was something.
