She does so carefully, trying not to nudge its wing again, but is surprised to hear the bat chitter softly as it leans slightly against her nose.

and noticed some stalactites nearby were broken off, and there was blood on what remained of them. Perhaps the bat crashed into them. But was that enough force to break them and crush the bat's wing? Motherfather forbid it was -thrown- into them. Nightmare was not an easy kimeti to frighten, but a chill ran up her spine at the thought of some great and monstrous beast hiding in a cave such as this.

as something made its way towards her. It was still rather dark, but she could make out its hulking shape. A monstrous, hideous kimeti, slavering at the mouth, made heavy steps as it set its eyes on the bat. As if hungry, its growled menacingly as it drooled. The bat began screeching, both terrified and trying to intimidate.
But for a moment, Nightmare stood in her tracks. "Why...why do you keep tormenting me!" she cried out, shaking with fear and rage.
She put herself between the bat and the buck, lunging at the latter with a vicious bite, suffering a swift kick back.

She decided she would take it home, where it could recover peacefully and safely, but home was still a ways away. Still, they made good distance, even though Nightmare had to be careful not to jostle the bat off her back.
