Kieran smiled as Taijana watched the limbara. While her attention was focused on the creatures his gaze was focused on her. Every feature of her face, the small curve of her chin that lifted ever so slightly as she smiled in delight at the limbara and the small way she tilted her head as she used the spyglass - all of it filled Kieran with new feelings. It was like he truly hadn't seen her before until just recently.
A small flush decorated his cheeks as he returned to reality, "Hm? I mean, oh yes. I don't think it will be. We may uh not smell the best to others, but I do have a way to get in without making a big ruckus." The yaeli smiled faintly as he dug around in his satchel and held out a small vial, "Consider it the best limbara perfume around." He teased lightly, "We can use a bit of this on our clothing and then climb down and see those around the edges of the herd..."

"We may not-? Oh, Oh." Taijana couldn't help the way her eyes widened anymore than she could prevent the curling of her lip. It wasn't as if she were unused to this method; in all her years she had used it enough to know it's effects, but...well, rarely did anyone actually enjoy it.
Oddly enough it hadn't been the girls in her house that had refused to use it. Her brother, Tyrios, had always been the one who had stubbed up and turned the other cheek. Tri hadn't minded; she was a go getter, one to get things done no matter the cost, but Tyrios...just remembering his sour face was enough to bring a smile to her own.
Taijana folded the spyglass into itself and held the compact device back to it's rightful owner. "Let's make a trade then. The sooner I put it on the less of a chance I have to back out."

As understanding caused Taijana's eyes to widen Kieran's gaze flickered with a mischievous glint. Patiently he waited with the vial in hand for her to make her decision and once she held out her hands for the trade the man shook his head, "Allow me since I know the best areas." He took the spyglass, tucked it into the satchel hanging from his shoulder, and then carefully twisted out the small cork from the bottle. Immediately a faint musky odor filled the air and even made Kieran's own nose crinkle ever so slightly, "Here." Gently he dabbed the musk on Taijana's forehead, around her collarbone, and on the tops of her hands. Those were the most vital spots, especially if she wanted to touch a limbara.
Then with ease of experience he also quickly dabbed the formula on himself and twisted the cork back into place on the now half-empty vial. "I guess we are set to go now unless you would like to add some mud to our apparel." He teased with a small grin before walking around Taijana, "There's a small walkway here, but you must be careful - the path gets slippery if there has been rain recently and it's also fairly narrow. I'll led the way, if you need any support please feel free to rely upon me." That stated the Yaeli man sat down on the ground so he could lower himself on a small footpath that twisted down through the cliffs and towards where the limbara roamed.

How utterly romantic; to be coated in Limbara musk on one's first date. Others may have scoffed at it, but Taijana just found it amusing. It seemed that no matter what they got into the pair of them were fated to do things a little differently from the norm.
The odor was enough to make her eyes water, but at least she wasn't gagging; despite the feeling in her gut wanting her to. Just feeling it on her skin, catching on the edges of her crystals and draping down...She shivered, but ultimately, held strong. Just think about the benefits.
"I think we'll be okay without it." She quipped. If they needed more coverage than this to get closer then maybe it would have been better to let the creatures go on about their day, uninterrupted. But if they could get in, just as they were....then how magical would that be?
Taijana eased herself onto the footpath, leaping just a little thanks to her shorter stature. She took her time walking behind Kieran, occasionally reaching out when the terrain became a little too steep. While she tried to keep her contact minimal, lest she annoy him or possibly cause him to slip, Taijana did reach out for him. There was no doubt in her mind that she could have made it down that path unaided, but...sometimes, playing up her inabilities was more rewarding than being independent.

Kieran simply grinned in response to her quip before leading the way. The same thoughts did cross through his own mind about how unique of a date they were having, but at the same time the man had to shrug it off. Wasn't that simply how things were for the two of them? It seemed nothing 'normal' was really his style and somehow this abnormal man who did wild and crazy things had caught this woman who had once preferred to never deal with such people or things. Crazy how things could change over time. No longer was he a loner who resolved to stay away from travelling companions and no longer did she faint....at every moment at least. The thought caused the softest of laughs to leave his lips as he continued down the path.
He was a bit slower to walk than normal, mainly so that he could be prepared for whenever Taijana would reach out to him for support. It was so tempting to just hold her hand the whole way down the path, but the man resisted. He was still afraid of what would be considered too much for their first date. That and the less he touched her the less his cheeks threatened to darken ever so slightly as a confession of his own feelings. It was still a strange transition to go from traveling companions to something more....to just recognize her as the woman he liked....it made the tips of his ears burn shyly.
"Careful on this final part." He found himself saying as he turned to help her down once more. Down here the grasses grew in patches up to their waist while other areas had been trampled down by the herd of limbara. It was through the taller grasses that Kieran led Taijana as they navigated around the outskirts, around various sized rocks that had fallen from the passage over the spread of centuries, and through the shallow valley path of a mostly dried creek bed until they finally spotted one larger limbara with two little ones walking around her legs.
"Now the trick is to quietly and calmly walk up to them. You don't want to suddenly appear nor do you want to seemingly be running at them." He whispered, his breath a slight warmth against her ear, "They're not used to seeing any sort of Yaeli so they're less wary compared to other herds that have been hunted so we have a good chance of being accepted." He glanced towards Taijana with the faintest of smiles, "If you want I'll go first and when it's safe you can follow?"

Even though they had known each other for so long as friends and traveling companions, the slight shift into 'dating' had made things so complicated for them. It was a nice switch, one that Taijana had hoped would happen for a while now, but it also meant that even the slightest of chances could be awkward and make her flustered. Not that it hadn't happened before, with others, but this was much more intimate. And to her that meant the pressure was on to make a good impression.
She tried not to stare at the curls lining the nape of his neck; the little ones that escaped his hair tie, and lay as free as the man himself. Taijana instead focused on the path itself, looking down to make sure she wouldn't stumble over a root and catching herself looking at the fine, sweet curves of his-
Taijana sucked in a sharp breath, almost letting out a squeal when he moved to help her down. How had she missed that? Had he said something? The whole thing was a blur because she'd been too busy looking at....the unmentionable. She couldn't look him in the eye after that.
Instead, she truly did focus on their walk now, just so she could make it through the grasses unharmed. She hunkered down near a patch of brambles, carefully using the barbed foliage as cover without getting herself caught in their hold. She turned to Kieran, her ears nearly on fire with the amount of flustered flesh covering them, and nodded. When had he gotten so close?
Nodding, she whispered, "B-be careful."

Had he done something wrong? Kieran could only raise a brow as Taijana seemed to avoid his gaze. Perhaps I was a bit too forward with touching her. An apology was on his lips but the man decided to just press forward. What was the point of spending time out here apologizing when they had a goal in mind? Afterwards he would properly apologize to her and promise to refrain from touching her so casually.
"No worries, you know me." He quipped lightly at her concern before disappearing through the long grasses. A few feet away from the limbara the man stood before carefully approaching them. At first the mother grunted in surprise before circling around her babies to keep them away from the strange looking creature, but then as Kieran lifted a hand with some familiar roots and seemingly grunted like a limbara the creature hesitated.
Could she approach him? The mother's honey colored gaze flickered with conflicted emotions, none thankfully which were of fright or anger. There was, however, the moment of concern and then curiosity as the treats were waved before her face. The strange creature didn't smell so awful either - nothing like any keldari or anything threatening to the limbara. And it actually wasn't the first time seeing this particular stranger, Kieran had secretly made a few trips here in the past couple of weeks just to prepare things. Coyly he raised a finger to his lips in a teasing gesture towards the limbara as she grunted a few more times before coming for the familiar treats.
Soon Kieran found himself patting the familiar hide and waving towards Taijana, "Shh, girl it's okay. I have a friend with me today...treat her kindly please?" He offered a few more roots towards the snout that hovered over his open palm before munching on them eagerly.

I do know you and that's why I worry. She could only watch as he made his way closer to the limbara, her heart in her throat. Taijana crouched in the tall grass, trying to stay as still as possible except her eyes as they followed him. The closer he got the more her hands itched for the crossbow she'd left on the picnic blanket. It wouldn't be enough to wound the limbara, and it wasn't as if she wanted to harm them, but at least she could spook them long enough to make a distraction...
Tai held her breath when the limbara started to move. Carefully she picked her way closer; not so secretive so as to spook the mother, but not fast, either, to look like a threat. The huntress moved across the ground on all fours, using her finger tips to help maintain her crouched balance. So far so good; the mother was taking Kieran's bait, and moving closer to him...The babies stayed close to her backside; mostly hidden by the sheer girth of their mountainous mother.
By the time Kieran waved at her she was close enough to see the little ones cautiously edging their way around, tempted by curiosity now that their mother had given in. It was more than a little intimidating now that she had fully captured the elder limbara's gaze; this was no tamed creature, used to the presence of yaeli. This was as close as Taijana had ever come to a wild limbara without any sort of a weapon to protect her in case things turned sour. It was both a terribly frightening moment and also incredibly exciting.
"Can I...can I touch her?"

Kieran smiled as Taijana came closer and at her question the Yaeli slowly nodded, "Carefully, yes." He held out some more roots towards Taijana, "She enjoys these....and so do the little ones apparently." A small grin crossed his features as a tiny rump bumped into the back of his knees. Still he focused back on the mother and Taijana, "She'll want to inspect you first of course." He whispered teasingly, "So I hope you don't mind a few sniffs, just stay still for a bit while she investigates."
Of course the musk always helped to ease tensions as well especially when the limbara turned her gaze to Taijana before leaning in close so that she could sniff along the stranger's arms.

Taijana took the roots, shifting them in her palms just long enough to blend her natural scent along with that of the musk. Hopefully the combination of snacks and limbara pheromones would be enough for the mother to remain calm.
It was terrifying to have something that large, with so many teeth, inches away from her flesh. The mother gave her a thorough inspection, occasionally nudging Taijana when her snout came in a little too close for a sniff. Still, the huntress didn't move; just kept the roots in an easy to nibble location, held up casually for the mother should she choose to take them. And when she finally did, going so far as to tentatively take them from Taijana's hand before eating them, her smile couldn't have been brighter.
When a little grunt, almost like a pout, came from her right she noticed that one of the babies stood at the ready, it's honeyed eyes, so similar to it's mother, looked up at her. It subtly bumped into her leg, causing her to stumble a little, in an attempt to get the rest of the roots she held.
"Alright little one, you can have your share now." She attempted to remain calm when offering the smaller beastie it's snack, but her hands shook. There was just so much happening in that one moment that Taijana could scarcely keep it all in.
She hoped that all of their dates would be as amazing as this one, and with Kieran, she knew they would be.
