Stemma is here to ruin everyones fun

Sabotage! You can't use your bare hands to cook anymore, and have to hold a fork and knife in each of your hands while you cook. (+1)

Acceptance... You seem to take well to this sabotage, and in fact, it only seems to make you stronger? (+3)

Yikes! The judge makes a face while eating. Did... did you forget to season it? (+0)

Eridia saw the stall from afar and got enthralled with the idea of eating food. Not so much about preparing it though, that was labor for the lowblooded. Not someone like her. So she went to taste some chocolates and picked the prettiest of them all. Unfortunately, as pretty as it was, it was damn spicy!

Oh! Her mouth burned but she didn't particularly care, in fact... they had a tasty aftertaste. The highblood took a couple more for later. Maybe she could also use some as a prank!

Sabotage! You're forced to only use canned ingredients for this challenge. (+1)
Acceptance... You seem to take well to this sabotage, and in fact, it only seems to make you stronger? (+3)
What is that? The judge can't tell what it's supposed to be, it doesn't remind her of the dish at all! (+1)

Score: 5

Kaldru returned for the cooking booth, just because it was fun. He had no idea what ramen was, unfortunately, having never really had an opportunity to have it, though he gathered from other contestants it was some kind of soup. What he threw together was a decent soup - but definitely not ramen.

Night 3
Tonight's challenge is.... Sushi!

"Seafood, yum! Everyone knows this highblood delicacy, even if you never ate it or don't like it. Rice and fish, rolled up in a tasty seaweed sheet, maybe with some other fillings or toppings. I've provided you plenty of ingredients for this, so make something good, okay?" Cerise shouted over the buzz of the night, giddy. "This is a fun challenge, and I wanna see your goods!"

((some Cerise replies!))

Cerise eyed Invira's dish while she cooked, and offered a few helpful tips, considering it looked like she'd never even used an oven before. When it was finally presented to her for judgement as it was finished, she grinned. "It smells really good, so I bet the judges will really like it~ And hey! Make sure you cut everything you put in there into smaller pieces, someone's gotta eat that, you know?"

sorry it's short aha

Cerise watched the lowblood very carefully. Something about her was a bit familiar, or at least her symbol was. Did she have a farm? Maybe Cerise had "borrowed" some milk or eggs from her before. Caima waddled over to the orangeblood and weaved between her legs, begging for scraps. How cute! "Caima, play nice, okay?" She giggled as the scene unfolded.

After a bit she got closer to the action, and see how she was cooking. "Oh really? That's what you're doing? I thought you were doing pretty great but it smells like stuff is burning!" She folded her arms and rested her head on her chin, tsk-tsking. "You're not doing great at all! Get good! C'mon, what is this garbage you're making? Ehehe, it's like you aren't even trying." She shook her head.

Sabotage! Where does Cerise get all these things from? She gives you oversized utensils and says you have to use them to cook. (+1)
Heckled! Cerise comes up while you're cooking and seems to think you're doing very poorly. She has a few... not-so-nice comments, and it ruins your self confidence. (+1)
Tasty! The judge eats your entire dish, and begs Cerise to get the recipe from you. Well, can't beat that, can you? (+5)

What the heck was a 'sushi'? What the ever loving heck did highbloods eat? And most of all, WHERE the heck did she get this THREE FOOT KNIFE?

Mahmud was dumbfounded. Astounded. How could someone manage to make, of all things, a kitchen knife this big?

Nonetheless he had to use it, and the girl who ran the stand wasn't exactly the nicest person either. She was just so... demanding. Poor Mahmud was already going as fast and as well as he could, for a guy who had no idea what sushi was. Fish? Fish on rice? Rolled? Okay. But she was just so... so PUSHY. Mahmud tried to not tear up while cutting, but maybe a single salty tear fell in that maki roll. Thats okay, he thought to himself, that girl probably lived on a diet of tears and anger.

No lies, he spent most of his time just... watching other people make their sushi to get an idea of how to even do it. There were so many methods. Very little ways to incorporate bugs into it, but once he realized he could grind up a particularly spicy one (and get a bit of revenge on those damned chocolates), that seemed to work out better for him.

In the end Mahmud's roll was a simple one, similar to what some weird fleshy alien from another planet may call a "california roll". But that spicy green sauce was a hit with the judge. Again he was asked "What was your secret ingredient?", and again Mahmud answered, deadpan, "Bugs".

Apparently the judge found it funny, and laughed as they walked away. Did... did they think he was joking?

This time he knew. Mahmud just knew that that first one had to have no spice in it. Something in his gut screamed it, and he was determined to prove it true!

And he didn't. He failed, just like every other time. Just like when he cooked his sushi too, he teared up at the moment that spice touched his delicate, sensitive tongue to match his delicate, sensitive heart.

Kaldru came back to cook more food. The kitchen was fun! And this time he didn't completely ruin it, even if he ended up making some weird sushi; his plate ended up looking a bit messy, since he couldn't quite figure out how to plate tentacle-based rolls ... especially without sauce, which he'd forgotten. At least it tasted better, today?

(will try to fill later, work stuff just picked up)

Lucky! Someone tried to sabotage you, not knowing that you desperately needed whatever they gave you. (+3)
Bad shopping! You forgot an important ingredient, and no one sabotaged you to replace it! (+0)
Plating! You really rushed your plating, so it doesn't look super great. (+2)

ZEYLLA CRYPSI

Zeylla was sour faced when she found out she was being sabotaged by everyone else competing(had Kaldru been in on it? She doubted it), but determined to show her skills no matter what. Of course, with all the rules put against her, she found herself with a terribly skimpy ingredient list for sushi, and was just about to resign herself to a b***h of a time when she was infomed she would be trading places with another troll.

Zeylla smirked at said troll as they traded spots, and she was happy to see they had done a wonderful job of shopping for her. She quickly started to work on her roll, using everything she could from the ingredients she had found herself surrounded by. Of course, she had never had sushi, or fish really, before and the taste profiles were new to her, and with little time to taste everything she found herself guessing at flavors.

Evidently salmon roe, truffle oil and saffron were not so great together on top of a tuna and avocado roll. Zeylla frowned down at her nasty concoction, and shook her head. She was just as disappointed as the judges at the mess eh had made. Maybe tomorrow she would do better.

ZEYLLA CRYPSI
After doing so terribly, Zeylla figured she might as well try her chances at the chocolates.

Of course, she should have known her luck and just left. But no, she bit into that chocolate and her eyes instantly watered and she spit the rest out into a trash can, though she refused to ask for something to drink, because that's just how Zeylla rolls. Instead she bit down on the inside of her cheek and blinked her eyes repeatedly as the heat rolled across her tongue, up her nose and down her throat with a vengeance.

How was this fun!? She would never know.

Tsarzi Ameroc

She'd already got her knife set, thus the cooking game had served its purpose.

So why was Tsarzi coming back?

She wanted to know what the dish would be today. Just what all were those judges willing to choke down for a festival game? Tsarzi sure as heck wouldn't eat half the meals she'd seen served up. It was interesting to learn about these different dishes, it taught her more about the inanities of troll culture. She could only take so much of what was often absolute insanity at a time but this booth was mixing a hands on learning experience with new information. It tested her adaptability in new situations and well, at the end of the day, Lupos refused to take her home until she had some "fun."

So. Cooking booth it was then.

And once again, Tsarzi had to question what the heck they were supposed to be making. She'd never even eaten fish before.

Her lack of knowledge over what a sushi was played against her this time. She didn't know about fish or seaweed and she only did really basic stuff with rice when she decided to have it. Well then.

Tsarzi's stone face through the ingredients game was entertaining to those around her if nothing else. She was losing her patience with the absurd activity, but maintained her cool. Of course, when she finally got to grab ingredients, Tsarzi still didn't have much of an idea of what she needed, other than the brief description by the redblood vendor. So by the end of it, Tsarzi took way too long in grabbing ingredients and got locked in. Well. Might as well grab some extra stuff. What went well with fish, rice, and green stuff? She wasn't sure about seaweed, she just grabbed what everyone else did. Maybe another kind of seaweed would be good then? Maybe a fruit or a veggie of who even knows.

By the end of her shortened cooking time, Tsarzi's sushi was a bit worrisome. There seemed to be a second layer of seaweed, not the kind prepped for wraps and it was not washed properly, instead it was dry and crunchy and too salty. The filling was rice, squash, and strawberry, because when she finally got out of the ingredients fridge, that redblood plucked her fish from her hands. And it had some sort of sauce intended for meat. cooked meat.

The concerned looks of the judges were quite a sight and Tsarzi only shrugged carelessly when they subjected her to the same look. Too bad, they had to eat it, not her.

"What the ******** is a sushi," Guo said, tone flat and look just as much. Rice and fish? What in the hell... "So we're putting a seadweller's lusus on the chopping block? Cool."

Apparently that comment was bad form, because he got sabotaged by a bunch of trolls at once. Guouli didn't care. This challenge was dumb anyway, because he didn't even know what to do for it.

Did Chef Red say something about fillings? Uhhh, he guessed he could put mustard and ketchup in it. That could only help, probably.

It didn't take long to make, and at least he got to use a knife for once (though it was a crap butter knife from one of the sabotages) and at the end of it he had some rice lump with seaweed and also red and yellow inside it with the canned tuna he got from another sabotage.

During presentation, the judge didn't like it again. Something about seasoning? "Was I supposed to just dunk the thing in ketchup or what?" he asked, though honestly any of this rice garbage probably would need it.

Punkie loved all the cooking booths, all two of them. It was great, getting to cook for prizes. Usually she just cooked for the holy feeling of awe and love she felt for her mirthful Messiahs. Now she got to do both of them! With a handful of slime, and a prayer full of mirth, she put the plate forward for judging.
