"I... don't think I ever thought to ask," said Sonny. "I was just so glad they were back..."

They rubbed their hands together. "Like, avoiding me. He won't talk to me more than he has to. He got like that sometimes, when I was little, but he hasn't been that way since at least the sixties..." They sighed. "Do you still wanna get ice cream?"
