“Alright! Everyone good to go? Make sure you have everything equipped and functioning. If you go under and it’s not working, go back to shore or go up. Remember, we are all on the headsets should anything happen, but I have checked all the equipment myself.”
He secured his helmet before moving to the water. “I need everyone to follow me. We will be going to the caves located under the island. I have pinpointed the specific entrance we need to go. Do not wander to any adjacent caves. We don’t need the mermaids on us before we even begin. Okay?”

While Melody had to leave to get changed. She deftly returned in a wet suit with her skirted bottoms. She didn't care what Melvin thought, she thought she looked fabulous.
Quote: 3.) You make it down no problem. Despite concerns that they would be destroyed, Melody pulled her helmet on and haters swam to the meeting point unscathed.

Tense on the inside, calm on the outside, Terry did his best to will away the bright red blush on his face. Thankfully, the situation resolved itself and it was then time for the mission to proceed. Fitted in his gear, he followed after Melody and at first things seemed to go well.
Down he swam, observant of the waters and then.
And then.
It saw him. Terry's first thought was I'm now in a hentai.

Joy was happily unaware of the drama that was, had been unfolding on the other side of the beach. She just knew it was time to go down into the water and so she suited up and dove in.
Anxiety was thick in the back of her mind but Joy liked to think it was simply her weapon showing concern for her. So she didn't even think twice when a school of fish seemed to swim past. They were super pretty and the moon made the mistake of reaching out to pat them.
Naturally the fish retaliated and their sting cut through the suit. With an expletive, Joy swam further down.

After suiting up, Kimberly sighed and looked at the water. Looked like it was time to make her way down to.. wherever they were going. Gah she hated this idea, why did she bother.... too late now though.

How the heck can one make a good attack with a whip under water? Really this was complete insanity. She was fated to be killed by a creature better suited to being sushi.
Maybe it was thanks to Chintliss having that lovely manticore barb that helped, she was able to strike the angry mermaid who cursed at her much better than she was able to curse back.

Quote: 3.) You make it down no problem. Not one to pass up on a mission yet unable to leave the infirmary until he was done handing over the cases to the next hunter who was supposed to relieve him, Kyle was glad that he managed to make it to the beach on time to join the group in his dark blue swimming trunks. Grabbing a set of diving suit, oxygen tank and covered headset for himself, the Sun trainee suited up, checked that the equipment was in working order before making his way towards the water.
Trailing behind the group, Kyle took his time with the descent, making sure to keep an eye out for and avoid any potential source of danger that Melvin had told them about before going in. He made it to the cave entrance that they needed to get to without any incident but realized upon checking on the progress of the others that someone was in trouble with a mermaid and decided to swim after said hunter to provide his assistance.

Joy had arrived when she instinctively checked up on the others in the mission. She didn't know who it was but a mermaid was attacking another hunter. With no hesitation, Joy summoned Bert to assist, kicking off into the water to spear the bladed tip of her shovel into the mermaid and attempt to bisect it.

Underwater combat was, honestly speaking, something that Kyle had never attempted before and proved difficult with the shurikens that he wielded. Obviously he wasn't going to make much of a head way by tossing them in the water so he was going to have to get in close like one of the other hunters (Joy) did with a shovel and give the mermaid a good whacking.

Unwilling to give up, especially when it came to another nakama as his division leader Allan had impressed upon all of them as Sun hunters, Kyle took a deep breath and pressed on, swimming as fast as he could after the already weakened mermaid.
Grasping onto it finally, he raised his fist, shuriken still gripped between his fingers as he punched the living daylights out of it until the mermaid was no more. Turning to both Joy and Kim, he grinned and flashed both hunters a thumbs up for their combined effort and started making his way back to the rendezvous point at the cave entrance.

Rep arrived a little late to the mission but got caught up anyway, getting into his suit and gear with just a little irritation at his new curvy body. He listened to Melvin's instructions and donned his helmet.
Rep liked the water, he liked it a whole ******** lot, and he was a good strong swimmer, but mostly he swam on the surface, deep sea diving was another matter and his nerves were a little rattled by having to put his survival in the hands of some potentially fragile equipment.
Fragile equipment some ******** mermaid wanted to <******** with.

MERMAIDHP: 6 Rep was the only ******** maid who was allowed to be down here, so when he found himself under attack, Tracey was very duly summoned. You couldn't get momentum in the water, that was something that was a given, but when your weapon had a lot of highly twistable and serrated edges, you could still do something to ******** gross, slimy underwater s**t.
That was his motivation as he brought Tracey around in what was almost a hug and pushed the axe between him and the raking talons.
There was a snarl over the headset as he drove it home with extreme prejudice.

Terry had tried to swim away at first, hoping the creature would become interested in someone else. He wasn't used to this kind of attention, or any attention that didn't come from behind a monitor. He felt a tentacle wind around his leg and he was sharply yanked.
There was a sensation of bared razor-sharp teeth in the back of Terry mind and the shield materialized. The trainee didn't know what good or use his weapon would be but Agata's presence gave him enough presence of mind to try and squeeze at the tentacles and the suction cups to retaliate.
