[Floor 3, Room 24 Results]

Inside the chest was a sort of charm. A long, sharp beak was just laying in there, waiting to be picked up. Motioning for Gale to come to her, she'd take the Starf Berry and get a little bit of string to try and work the Sharp Beak in a way that the Pidgey would be able to hold. "Here, you should be able to use this," she said, giving a light smile at her handiwork before looking to the door leading out. Deciding not to take chances, she'd take another Super Potion to treat Gale's wounds a little more before going on her way.

[Floor 3, Room 17, what. Again?]

For some reason, it appeared that the room with a lone chest was sandwiched between meadows and berry trees. Looking behind her to make sure that she did indeed go the right way, Amaranth would go to try and pluck something from this tree as well.

[Floor 3, Room 17, Round 2 Results. Ouch.]

As she went to fish her hand through the tree, Gale would try to do the same, only to suddenly fly out of the tree and knock three Silver Tokens from the branches in the process. "Gale? What happened?" Amaranth asked, before catching a glimpse of someone within the tree. A Wormadam, angrily glaring before making its way to another part of the tree. "...oh..." Opting to cut their losses, they'd just go to the next room. No need to be greedy here.

[Floor 3, Room 13]

Continuing to be the oddest floor yet, Amaranth's departure from the meadow would bring her to a small cottage. Within a labyrinth. Nothing made sense anymore. Curious, she and Gale would make their way to the door, seeing a Delphox that had made the cottage its home. It didn't seem to be hostile, thankfully, even giving a few Silver Tokens just for their coming here and offering them a chance to rest for a moment. At least, the motioning that kept being done hinted at that being the case.

Wanting to seem grateful, they'd go further inside and use the chance to relax and gather their thoughts. The thought to ask if Delphox knew anything about the Minotaur did cross Amaranth's mind, but being unable to understand the Pokemon, she decided against it. It hadn't dawned on her to just use the SNAG's translation functions, or that Delphox was probably able to speak in a way that she'd understand.

Feeling like it knew Amaranth's plight, though, it'd take out a stick and wave it, a sudden psychic influence coming over Amaranth and Gale as Delphox attempted its Lucky Chant.

All of a sudden, the attempts started to feel off, like something had just gone horribly wrong. Delphox's eyes went wide as it realized what it had done, quickly rushing the two out and giving them both a telepathic message apologizing profusely for the trouble it had just caused to them. Confused, they went on their way, unaware of the poor luck they were jinxed with.

[Floor 3, Room 6]

The earlier jinx from Delphox would lead to a room that wasn't like any of the others, and certainly didn't feel as safe. Stone statues lined the walls, and compared to the rest of the labyrinth, the room wouldn't have felt out of place within a castle. Perhaps near the throne room. To Amaranth, it felt like the labyrinth's way of saying that the Minotaur might be close, if the low, faint roars didn't clue her in enough. She and Gale slowly walked through and inspected the statues, making their way to the door at the other end and finding that it was locked.

The sound of something shifting could be heard after a while, stirring and seeing a pair of intruders. Heavy footsteps rang throughout the room as Amaranth tried to work the lock again, assured that yes, the door was locked and wasn't opening right now. When the noises became too much to simply ignore, she'd finally turn just in time to see a Golurk about to slam a massive, stone arm on top of her. Suffice to say, her eyes went wide as she dived out of the way, hitting Gale in the process and sending her into the wall they were near. "What did that Delphox do!?" She asked in a panic, rolling and turning to see Golurk slowly advance towards her.

Gale, shaking her head as she managed to resume her flight, gave a confused chirp that suggested she had no idea either and wondered why Amaranth had asked her that.

"Whatever, just do something about that!" Amaranth yelled, quickly getting to her feet and keeping her distance. Gale would comply without missing a beat, the Pidgey trying to strike with a Tackle... only to phase right through Golurk and do nothing of note to it. It didn't even slow down, but slow as it was already moving, it wasn't going to exactly be getting far either.

Turning after the odd results, she'd try a different course of action, whipping up a sharp wind through Air Slash. Though it'd be enough to make Golurk pause ever so slightly, a bout of wind wasn't going to be the thing that'd make it stop. Needless to say, Amaranth's backpedaling wasn't stopping anytime soon either, keeping her eyes on Golurk in case it tried to attack her again. "Um..." Soon enough, it'd simply disappear, sinking into the floor.

Concerned and apprehensive, Amaranth looked around, trying to get her sights on Golurk again. Soon appearing behind her, it'd throw a Shadow Punch and send her flying into another wall from the impact. A pained scream could be heard as she crashed and bounced onto the floor, groaning as she struggled to get to her feet. Nevermind the ringing in her ears that she was trying to ignore, watching as Gale rushed towards Golurk to protect her trainer.

Strangely enough, the Pidgey would go for something different, moving to Golurk's side with a burst of speed before throwing its own Shadow Punch into the crack on the front of the Pokemon, her Mirror Move trying to fight fire with fire. Golurk would take a step back from the sudden attack, before making a low rumble and suddenly looking to be in much more pain. Then, even more bizarrely, it'd disappear. Whether it was done battling or not, Gale couldn't hide the feeling that she was being watched, that something might be waiting for the right moment to bring a swift end.

Shaken up by it all, especially as the door clicked and was unlocked, neither one waited any longer and made sure not to linger. Unknown to them, however, was that Golurk was indeed waiting in the shadows, stalking the "intruders" and ensuring they always remained in its sights... though it did leave a few Silver Tokens for some reason.

[Floor 3, Room 2]

Perhaps going along with the castle-esque theme of the room before it, their efforts to escape brought them into what looked like marshlands. To say it smelled somewhat rank would be an understatement, and Amaranth wasn't terribly fond of this new environment. "Please tell me the exit's close..." She said with a groan, slogging her way through the seemingly endless marsh. Though Gale would have an easier time of things, what with being able to fly around, she wasn't entirely aware of a Goodra about to leap on top of her...

In fact, Gale was so oblivious to the Goodra's presence that it sent her into the mud with it and coated the bird in a mixture of that and Goodra's... goo. Moving was nearly impossible from everything keeping her in place, let alone anything like flying, and the paralysis still wasn't helping matters. "I have got to pay better attention," Amaranth said to herself, quickly plucking her Pidgey from the mud and unsure of how to actually give some way for her to fight. Moving to evade a suddenly swing of Goodra's tail, one idea came to mind.

"Gale, you're gonna have to bear with me... you might not like this," she warned as she sprayed a Super Potion to keep dealing with Gale's wounds.

Her Pidgey would chirp, wondering what on earth Amaranth had in mind. Then, all of a sudden, she'd be flung at Goodra. "Tackle!"

It was hard to tell which one was more surprised at this point: Gale, who was now being thrown like a fastball at this Goodra, or the Goodra that just had a Pidgey thrown at it followed by Amaranth rushing to pull her Pokemon free and get ready again.

"...Dra."

"Piiiiidge."

Goodra wasn't sure of what to expect here, only to get another "Tackle" done to it as Amaranth threw her Pidgey again. Technically, her Pokemon was still doing the fighting. Sort of. It wasn't anything Gale would ever want to experience again, flailing as she ended up slightly embedded in Goodra again and soon being plucked out yet again. "Sorry, I'm sorry! I couldn't think of anything better."

She was about to throw Gale again when Goodra huffed, threw three goo-covered Silver Tokens and started storming off. It wasn't about to deal with this, this was too weird even for a gooey dragon within a marsh inside a labyrinth, while a Golurk took a potshot from within the shadows. Um... okay then?

"Um... sorry again?" Amaranth asked, only getting an angry chirp. Gale didn't seem to be terribly up for talking right now, staying still as her trainer tried to clean the mud and goo. Emphasis on try.

[Floor 3, Room 8]

Getting through the marsh was a slog and a half, taking seemingly forever to go through. Eventually, Amaranth would find the door and carried Gale through. They'd end up coming out of a marsh and into a pleasant meadow, not unlike the ones with the berry trees. A gentle breeze blew through the room, grass and flowers swaying and mingling with the soft sounds of a lake flowing through the room. The aromatic scent throughout the room was calming, giving some much needed clarity as Gale found her jittery feelings finally begin to fade.

Finally, they'd see what must've been the source of it all. A Florges went around the meadow, her calming presence and Aromatherapy doing everything she could to relax weary challengers and give them a little help. For now, she left the two alone, watching quietly. Despite apprehension that they might be attacked, Amaranth did what she could to clean Gale off proper at the room's lake. It was enough to get the mud off and let her Pidgey move again, even fly a little once the water dried. Some of the goo from their last encounter, however, refused to come off, nevermind the mud and goo already caking around the trainer's boots.

After a while, the Florges would move herself closer to them, and the door going to the next room would suddenly click, locking them in. A soft, but sharp cry could be heard, making Amaranth stand up as Gale flew beside her. "Excuse me?" Amaranth asked, looking to the Florges. She didn't look hostile at all, but... determined? Was there something she wanted to prove? She didn't get much of an answer aside from one of Florges' arms moving to point at the Pidgey nearby. For some reason, she seemed almost apologetic for what she was about to do, charging and blasting Gale with a Moonblast. For some reason, it didn't come off as particularly strong, and the Pidgey was able to shrug it off.

Gale would respond by flying into Florges, chirping and asking what that was about. Her response would be a Razor Leaf flurry trying to further deter the bird, followed by a comment that she'd understand a lot better than Amaranth would.

("Why do you two come here? Are you not aware of the dangers you will face ahead? Are you prepared for a fight that may be your last? You will not answer my question with words if you've any chance of pressing on, and you will not rely on that human to assist you this time. Her resolve was clear as soon as you entered." )

Practically on instinct, Gale went to speak up, but Florges' comment was clear as day, pelting the Pidgey with Magical Leaf. Talk was cheap, as far as she cared. Anyone could talk; she wanted to see what Gale would actually do. Shaking off the attack, she would finally do just that, swooping in with Quick Attack and already ascending to loop and repeat the process. Already appearing to be aware of those plans, Florges would multiple all at once, trying to confound her foe with Double Team.

"Gale, caref-"

"PID!" Determined to follow through with Florges' request, Gale tried to make it clear for Amaranth to stay out of this. This wasn't her fight.

The second Quick Attack would end up missing as a result, hitting one of the duplicates and affording Florges enough time to send another Razor Leaf flurry at Gale. She knew it wouldn't hurt much, but striking them down didn't appear to be the Pokemon's plan. By now, Gale had had enough of the attacks and went for a slicing attack of her own. Whipping up a strong Air Slash to cut the leaves as they scattered around, she'd try to catch Florges in it as well by trying to make the gale as wide as she could.

One by one, the duplicates would fail from the attack covering such a wide area, eventually leaving one who had braced herself to weather the attack. The opening gave Gale enough time to dive at Florges and slam into it with a Wing Attack, this time keeping close to see just what might come of it. Or perhaps, to challenge Florges herself as she went back to keeping her distance. Finally, Florges would try another route to deter the two, to see how far they were willing to go.

The meadow, at once, seemed to go to ruin. Grass and flowers began to break apart and scatter in the wind, growing in intensity by the second and threatening to blow Amaranth and Gale away. The fierce Petal Blizzard would quickly reduce visibility to nil, but one could swear that Golurk was in the room too, ready and waiting. The watched feeling ended up with Gale being blindsided by the attack, trying her hardest to regain her bearings.

"What's going on!?" Amaranth screamed, trying to raise her voice enough to be heard. "Where are you two!?"

Around the same time, Gale would manage to right herself enough to try and counter the attack with another Air Slash. Despite barely doing anything of note to stop Florges' attack, she refused to stop, sharply chirping and glaring through the storm. If anything, she began to flap her wings harder and harder in an effort to strengthen her own attack, eventually beginning to give off a glow that not even the clashing attacks could mask.

Lasting for a few seconds and feeling like an eternity, the glow engulfed the room and blinded Amaranth and Florges alike, enough to actually make Florges stop and shield her eyes. As the storm began to clear and the glow dimmed, Gale would land on the ground before moving to finish things with another Quick Attack. But this time, it was a Pidgeotto behind the attack rather than the Pidgey that had come in only moments before.

Just when the attack would connect, however, Florges raised an arm and called for her opponent to stop. The meadow, however, would still appear to be in total disarray now.

("Enough! I've heard your answer, your resolve is clear. You may go." )

The doors would unlock with another click, Florges leaving a few Silver Tokens as she backed off. Fixing this room would take some time, apparently. But even with the battle seemingly over, Amaranth couldn't hide her surprise.

"Gale? That is you, right?" She asked, finding it hard to believe that the Pidgey that she had come in with not only was free from the Shadow Virus' grip, but had managed to evolve. Maybe this had all taken a lot longer than she thought. The chirp that followed was the only answer she needed. "Good... maybe I should've used a longer string. That charm looks like it's a little tight on you now," she replied, taking out her last Super Potion and spraying it around. That Silver Key was beginning to become a tempting item to use soon.

Thinking nothing of it for now, Gale would simply keep quiet and start for the next room. It wouldn't be long before Amaranth followed, wondering just how long this floor was. And just how far they'd get if they've managed to come this far.

[Floor 3, Room 10]

A reconsideration about that Silver Key wouldn't take long, coming into a room with high pillars all around. Each and every one had a flat top, able for someone to stand on easily if they could climb up to it. Unlike the rest of the rooms, this one practically went up to the skies and had a constant wind blowing through. A roar would suddenly break the near silence of the room, with a shadow looming overhead, mercilessly staring down the two that had come in. To say it sounded angry was an understatement, and despite the test in the room before, there was a Pidgeotto that wasn't too sure of this when she was trying to get used to her new form. Already, the shadow was divebombing towards the two, eventually revealing itself as a Salamence that was all too ready to leave this challenge in shreds.
PostPosted: Sun Feb 26, 2017 5:41 pm

[Floor 3, Room 10: Battle]

Despite the Salamence's anger, it wasn't quite to a boiling point. It was, however, enough to try and rend Gale with its Dragon Claw. Were it not for still feeling the benefits of Florges' earlier presence, the attack might've cut deeper than it managed to. Regardless, the Pidgeotto's flight would falter as she was swatted out of the air, crashing on the ground and followed up by Golurk's fist emerging to punch her back into the air. Despite the confusion, Salamence had no qualms with further following up the combo with a flying Headbutt to send Gale at Amaranth.

Falling on her back from the impact, she looked up and saw Salamence ready to keep attack, Gale finally realizing why Florges was going on about resolve. It'd be needed if they had any chance of surviving this. In a way, Amaranth could tell that her Pidgeotto wasn't about to back down so easily.

"You're ready for this?"

Gale would give a quick nod in return.

"Alright... Gale, Twister!" Amaranth called as she threw Gale back into the air, her Pidgeotto whipping up a strange, draconic gust that threatened to throw Salamence's flight off course. It wasn't able to right itself before hitting one of the pillars, bits of rock loosening from the impact and a small crater left as it started crashing to the ground. Either Gale had managed a lucky shot, or Salamence underestimated its opponent. If anything, now its rage had fully come out, the dragon's fangs crackling with electricity as it rushed at Gale with Thunder Fang.

Luckily, she'd move out of the way before Amaranth could even think to give the command to watch out, the trainer keeping her eyes on everything going on. "Come on, we've still got this! Feather Dance!" She called instead, aiming to deal with the Salamence's immense offense. Spinning in place to face her opponent, Gale would start flying in circles, an odd sort of grace in her actions as feathers scattered and enveloped around Salamence.

Though it'd soon retaliate with another Dragon Claw, the feathers would cushion the blow considerably, giving the slightest bit of a silver lining to what was going on. And an idea for Gale to repeat. Trying to take after what she had done to Golurk before it, her wings would glow and suddenly give off a burst of draconic energy. The Mirror Move would become a sort of Dragon Claw of her own, spinning and slamming both wings into Salamence before moving to keep her distance. A roar would soon come that rang throughout the room, the feathers quickly burning when a stream of flames would be spat out to take a different route in fighting back.

Not missing a beat for once, Amaranth looked up and shouted. "Gale, now! Air Slash!" Her Pidgeotto wouldn't need to be asked twice, the slicing gusts coming at once to try and fan the flames back at Salamence and hopefully get a few extra hits in alongside. Though the dragon was beginning to weaken from what Gale had managed to do, it still refused to relent. It'd dive for another Headbutt, only for Gale to barely get out of the way in time... causing Salemence to keep going and crash into another of the pillars in the room.

The impact alone was enough to make Amaranth cringe, watching as Salamence slowly fell to the ground below, landing with a heavy thud and knocking itself out from the sheer force of its own attack. Quietly, Amaranth stepped back and made sure to stay from Salamence. "I... I think we better get out of here before it gets back up. Hurriedly, she and Gale would rush for the exit, a few Silver Tokens finding their way into her bag somehow.
