That was it. His latest blow broke what little shield she had left.

Sherry let herself be flung back by the blow, landing heavily on the ground, her weapon vanishing.

"a*****e." That was all she said. He won, but she wasn't going to congratulate him. Not at all.

He took a moment to catch his breath, adrenaline coursing through his veins. It had been far to close for comfort, but somehow he managed to best her. He was a force to be reckoned with and he loved every moment.

"Aww, is someone upset they lost?" He laughed, walking over to her fallen body and knelt by her side. Not to offer assistance of course, just to taunt her some more.

"Don't look so sad~" a gloved hand brushed through her soft hair. "You nearly made me break into a sweat."

She was upset that she lost. Not that she was going to admit it out loud, though her scowl was probably enough of a hint. She tried her very best to glare daggers at him while she tried to catch her own breath.

"Don't touch me," she said through clenched teeth. Her hand moved, weakly, to brush his away. "Next time..." She couldn't even finish it. She'd lost. He'd won and he'd gloat and there was nothing she could do about it. She was so very, very angry.

"Go."

It was so obvious she was not happy with her defeat, and the way she tried to hide it was adorable.

"Aww, you look so cute when you're mad!" He laughing, allowing his hand to be pushed away. "Oh, next time you say? I'm not so sure about that."

"And why should I leave? We're having so much fun aren't we?"

She really would have liked to punch him in the face. Just teach him a lesson, since words clearly wouldn't' work with him. Except she'd just tried that, and failed so very miserably. He was just there, rubbing it in.

"No, we're not having fun." A deep breath. She was so frustrated she could cry, but that would make things even worse. Yelling at him would make it worse. Everything would make it worse. The one thing she might have been able to do -beat him up- had failed and made it worse, too. Sherry felt rather helpless, and she didn't like that. No matter what she said he'd just laugh at her, because he was the biggest a** on the island.

"Fine you won. Happy?" She hated to say it. She really, really did.

He frowned, though anyone who looked at it could tell it was fake. "Aww, I'm sorry to hear that. Anything I can do to make it better?" It was so cute how angry she looked. He figured she wasn't far of from busting into frustrated tears, and the idea was amazing. Could he bring her to tears?

"Why yes, yes I am. Thank you Sherry you made me feel so much better!" He patted her head affectionately. "I should spar you more often, it just feels so good!"

She kept scowling, trying her best to keep the anger high and the other feelings low. Shame and frustration would make her cry, and dammit her eyes might have been watering. "You can leave."

She waved at his arm again. "Don't touch me. Stop it. Next time won't feel so good, I promise." She said it without thinking, and immediately wished she hadn't. A threat she couldn't count on following through with? Dammit.

"Just leave." She was tired, dammit. Tired and a failure. Yeah. She might cry. He needed to leave so she could.

"Well I could do that, but I don't wanna." It was more fun staying here and taunting her. "I have nothing better to do."

Oh, would you look at that, her eyes seemed a little wet. "Is something wrong?" He leaned in, trying to get a better look. "Oh, are you actually crying? over a silly little thing like a spar? Oh this is too precious!"

He sat back and laughed, a loud, cruel sound that echoed throughout the training grounds.

"Oh, oh you are hilarious! Oh, yes, I'm sure it wont feel good next time. For you at least!" And then he started laughing again.

Of course he didn't want to leave. Of ******** course. If he had some friends he'd have better things to do, but Sherry doubted he had many of those.

She was about to say as much when he noticed. "No, I'm not." It was a lie, because even as she said it she felt things well up. Not massive tears, but still tears. She was crying in front of him and it was all his fault.

Too tired to fight him, too tired to truly retaliate, Sherry reached into her pocket. She pulled out her compact and her comb and chucked them at his laughing face. "Shut up."

Great. Now she was crying and throwing things. Dammit. It was embarrassing and infuriating.

Even as he heard her denial he could see those precious balls of liquid grow larger in her eyes, which only increased his own laugher.

"My, my if it weren't so precious it might be pathetic, I don't know which is more funny! Oh!" He raised a arm at the items thrown, laughing even harder now, "And now you're throwing things at me?" It was the best.

He failed to notice the compact had opened on the ground, the mirror inside showing something quite odd. It was not the sinister figure of the laughing hunter sitting in front of Sherry, but the distraught face of another Jason, his own eyes filled with angry tears as he hit the mirror with the front of his fists, shouting something, trying in vain to escape his prison, trying to tell her to run.

His laughter only made things worse. It drove home her failure. Drove home her embarrassment at not only losing a fight, but her temper, too. And now she felt stupid and weak for not only failing, but crying. Her little outburst hadn't helped her feel better, either.

She didn't say anything. She scowled at him, trying to think of something to say, anything that would wound him. He'd just brushed everything off so far. There was nothing. He'd won. So very utterly won.

She sniffed and wiped at her eyes, willing the tears to just stop. Her weakness was showing, and she had to put it back inside. She didn't say anything, rather she leaned over to collect her things and stopped. What? Her gaze went from her compact to Jason's laughing face, then back down. No, no. That wasn't right. She must be crazy. Her mirror wasn't magic, she knew that. But something was very, very wrong.

"What is wrong," she said it to the mirror Jason, the one who wasn't laughing.

The mirror Jason held his fists on the glass, shaking his head furiously at Sherry and just mouthing the same thing. Run away. Get help. It's not-

Then a large boot came crashing down on the mirror. Jason had stopped laughing now, staring down at Sherry with a renewed sense of malice.

"I suggest you forget what you saw." He said quietly, "If you value your life, that is."

She could see him and it didn't make any sense. The Jason in the mirror wasn't the same one here, the same one that had just defeated her and then stayed to rub it in. Sherry shifted again, still exhausted but knowing something was very wrong and she'd likely need to move. Just started to shift, her mind still trying to work things out when mirror Jason disappeared under a boot.

Sherry looked up into a face that held no amusement, and her blood ran cold. She was not in a state to fight, she couldn't defend herself, and there was danger here.

"What?" The question was out of her mouth before she could stop it.

"It's nothing you should be concerned about." He gripped his sword in his hand, the blade ominously close to Sherry's head.

Yet he did not strike, and stepped back. "Just a figment of your imagination." He chose to look around, staring at something in the distance. "It's a shame there are so many witnesses around here. Otherwise things might not have worked out so well..."

He didn't elaborate.

Oh no. Sherry was certain she needed to be very concerned about it. It was messed up, and totally not normal. Reflections didn't act like that. Not normally. She didn't say that, though. She was a bit too terrified to.

He didn't need to elaborate. Sherry could guess exactly how things would go. Between his intimidating and the look on his face, she knew. She'd have been helpless to stop it, too. She'd been reckless, hadn't she?

"Just as well that there are then," she whispered. It wasn't just exhaustion keeping her down, now. Fear was a strong motivator, too.

"Leave," she tried again.
