ALSO I have a contest idea that would pull people into the rest of the forest without seeming weird with the ball. A scavenger hunt. I can have it in either images or in a verbal map and have people rp finding things for the bride's dress, or the party. Almost like Tinker Bell's favored Lost Items. OMG if Tinker Bell get's married I call Tinker Bell. I have over 200 Tinker Bell items in my house, plus a tattoo of her.
Tinkerbell is unfortunately a copy-written character and so we would not use her specifically. I think the scavenger hunt could potentially work very well though. I could see having multiple images drawn up like those mystery search game things.
Fan fics are fully okay. People rp as characters like her, Harry Potter, Princesses, and others regularly. We can't use her stories, but we can create new ones.
Fan fics may be okay in the roleplaying community, but the AURB is not the roleplaying community, it's very much it's own entity and we don't use other IPs when we can avoid it.
The problem is that the AURB is set as an in-universe event in Gaia, it's not just a nebulous event for roleplayers, it's actually a thing bound by the constraints of the Gaia IP and if we want to explore other realms or whatnot in a ball, magical bullshittery like portals is needed because in the world of Gaia where the ball is usually set, characters like tinkerbell don't exist. Randomly throwing said characters into a plot built in Gaia makes things confusing for guests, and that's why we usually avoid having characters from outside of Gaia's IP unless the ball is explicitly about the world of said character.
I know it's set inverse. However, they do exist lol. I see them all across Gaia, as a world. I have played Tinkerbell on Gaia before in fact. People cross them over, without portals, daily. But it's your event, whatever you want.

hokay so we're doin this! discussing the plot i mean.
we dont really want a heavy plot that deals with IRL issues, people come onto gaia to have fun and as much as they are huge issues theyre not really appropriate to have in the balls plot.
1. we need a reason for why the gaians are showing up
2. there is a difference between the setting up plot vs the ball plot. Setting up plot is more like a prologue to whats about to happen while the ball plot is generally a skeleton of dot points, that can easily be dropped or changed at the drop of a hat depending on where the guests themselves are taking it.
The anniversary of the creation of the rainforest is coming soon but there is a problem. The creator of the rainforest is still in a deep sleep. The residents of the rainforest come up with a plan to throw a loud and active festival for anyone to join in hopes of waking the creator or risk the rainforest dying without the creator yearly blessing.

After looking through everyone's amazing ideas, and discussing it with Troubled, here is a plot that we hope everyone will like. This is more or less the final plot, but if there are tiny suggestions (especially because I know my writing "skills" are terrible), please feel free to share them.
Quote:
In a lush forest on the outskirts of Gaia, there live two races of Fae. Deep in the forest, where the light can barely penetrate the dense trees, lives the Fae of the Moon Glen. These Fae that seldom see the light tend to have hair and skin tone lacking in color, varying shades of gray to pale white. In the other side of the forest resides the Fae of the Sun Valley, a bright place where the Fae have a wide variety or hair colors and skin tones. Both groups have lived peacefully beside each other, preferring to keep to their own section of the forest, until something changed.
After a conference between the two Fae groups to discuss forest politics, attended by the royal families of both factions, something amazing happening. Despite all odds, the princess of the Sun Valley and the princess of the Moon Glen, had a whirlwind romance, and fell in love. After a short courtship, the two decided to get married. Both groups of Fae were surprised at first, as this had never happened in in their recorded history, but in the end they were happy for the couple, and excited about uniting their two races. A lavish ceremony was planned on the border of their two lands, and all residents of neighboring lands, especially Gaia, were invited to attend.
The only being not celebrating was the Moon Glen princess’s ex-girlfriend, the duchess of stars. Although she had found the princess boring and been the one to end the relationship, she was jealous of all the attention the two were receiving. Enjoying being in the spotlight herself, she prepared to win the princess back, or at the very least find ways to disrupt the wedding. Anything she could do that would get her a bit of attention was on the table.
I really like the plot. As Mr-X already mentioned it will turn heads.

I'm glad that everyone so far seems to like it c:
I was worried when I named them sun and moon, that it might feel similar to the Ciel story, but the names work so well for a light and dark area. When they were changed to two princesses, it got even closer. I think it should be ok though?
Ooo, that's epic! Thank you for your hard work guys!

Thank you everyone that gave feedback! The main plot discussion is now closed. Finer details will be worked out with the main host, secondary, and co-hosts.
