Leukos beamed back at him and swung his boots to rest over his shoulder, chuckling a bit. “Look at us, a couple of shoeless vagabonds traipsing about in the late hours like children on the beach. How wonderfully simple...” He sighed again and started heading off towards the foretold food. It took a bit of walking, but eventually they came across the landmark Leukos recognized. “Oh, this is the store with the green door across from that weird gnarled tree, we’re almost there!” The lights of the shop-front could be seen further up the beach, a couple receiving their steaming order in the near distance. Leukos started to lope along in his excitement, stopping in front of the place with his arms spread wide, inhaling the smells deeply. “Oh Gods, is that not the most tantalizing thing you’ve ever smelt?! I feel like I could eat a whole Snaptrotter right now! Fantastic!” He practically bounced up to the woman behind the stall, placing his boots on the ground and leaning against the counter and flashing a smile. “Hello, lovely evening isn’t it? The aromas coming from this place have been tempting me for days, and alas, I fear I no longer have the strength to resist their seductive sway! Though… had I known something else just as tempting was here, I’d have succumbed far earlier. What’s your name, lovely lady?”
The older woman blushed a bit and giggled into her fist, waving her hand at him. “Oh, really, enough of that! My husband is just over there cooking, I don’t want him getting jealous seeing such a handsome young man flirting with me!” She leaned forward a bit and tucked her hair behind her ear, whispering with a smile at him. “But it is appreciated. My name is Bryna, and unfortunately, I am not on the menu. So what can I get for you instead?”
Leukos sighed heavily and placed his hand to his chest, looking up at her through his lashes. “And what a tasty morsel you’d have been… truly tragic. Alas, I suppose I shall have to sate my hunger in other ways. I’d like two of those spicy sausages I’ve had my eye on, the one I believe comes on the stick?”
She pulled back and just rolled her eyes a bit with a grin. “Alright, I’ll get two of those for you. Luckily, I already have them ready to go, so you can be on your way and enjoy this lovely night.” She scurried off and returned shortly, handing the two steaming skewers to Leukos. After some more banter between the two of them, he blew a little kiss at her and scooped up his boots, quickly rushing off to rejoin Sajahka. With a mischievous grin still left on his face, he handed off one of the sausage skewers to him with a flourish. “Behold, the fruits of my labor. Such a charming lady; she even knocked down the price a bit for me, I’ll have to come by later some other time to thank her for that.”

“Mm.” Sajah nodded.
It was everything Leukos said, and Sajah was entirely content to walk as far as the other man saw fit. The sand was pleasant beneath his feet, the night new and fresh, and as they did eventually close in on Leukos’ planned-for destination, it did smell phenomenal, inspiring a quiet rumble in his gut at the whiff of meat and spices. As Leukos grew excited and bounced on ahead, Sajah followed at slightly more gradual rate, leaving the showmanship and talking (obviously) to his companion.
But, he was still more than near enough to hear and observe in full detail as the other man worked his ‘magic,’ and he could hardly help the returning sprinkles of amusement that came with it. The man never turned off. By the time he returned to Sajah’s side, Sajahka’s eyebrows arched neatly, and he took the offered food with relish—but it did nothing to tone down the glint in his eye. If anything, eating only seemed to add spice to the moment, for he hadn’t eaten much that day, it was delicious, and once he’d satisfied the initial sharpest edge of his hunger, he let his focus move back predominantly to Leukos.
He debated only a moment before tracing loosely with a toe in the sand: of course woman prefer man with tongue - luck I prefer man

Leukos munched happily on his snack, quite satisfied with himself for his admirable results, even with the buzz of alcohol flittering about in his brain. When he saw movement from the ever silent Sjahka, he looked down, at first confused at his motions in the sand, but as words formed, be began to understand. Which led him to snort a little laugh through his nose.
He gave Sajahka’s arm a playful slap, laughing for real this time. “What a cheek! And here I thought you were a man of few words, looks like you have much to say!” He started walking away from him down the beach, twisting his feet in the sand as he swayed from side to side. “The tongue does make sampling many different dishes much easier, yes. And while I do so love women… there are far too many delicious little treats out there to limit myself. I prefer… the buffet. So many wonderful options…”
Leukos stopped and slowly twisted, looking over his shoulder at Sajahka with a coy grin. “…...would you..... like to sample my sausage? Or maybe…”
He put the skewered meat into his mouth again, slowly pulling it out with a little POP. “...…I’m hungry for yours?”

And here I thought you were a man of few words…
Sajah watched as Leukos went on. It was a common mistake, to assume that because he didn’t speak, he had little to say, but in truth to Sajah it always felt like held within him a sack or balloon filled to the bursting point with everything he wished to say, lashed off tight at the only exit and allowed only to trickle the occasional drop out. He had learned over the years to deal with it — he had no choice in that regard after all — but still all the words sat there, buzzing and waiting, unlikely ever to be voiced. Except perhaps to Nyko later, since there at least he had a means of doing so.
He wondered if it would have been different, had he been born mute or lost his ability to speak before he had learned to. Would it have felt less like such a loss, then, if he’d never had it to begin with?
Those, though, were thoughts for another time, and fortunately, Leukos made it exceedingly easy to think of other things. His gaze dropped to the man’s mouth the instant he put the meat there and as simply as that the heat was back, climbing up the sides of his throat. His attention moved from the sausage, down to — well, Leukos had generously angled most of his backside in his direction, so — that, and then up again. Though it probably didn’t need saying in quite so explicit terms, Sajah did believe in being clear, so, he reached with his toe, this time taking only a second to trace in the sand:
yes
After half a second and a head tip, he underlined it for emphasis. Yes, I would like and you may like, and you may have or I will. Yes, I agree and understand and consent and want, and yes, you have my attention. Besides:
mine is better
He notched his head to indicate the sausage, leaving an implicit ‘than that’ unwritten.

Leukos watched for Saj’s reaction, almost giggling with satisfaction at how loud-and-clear his message was received. He was being especially more misbehaved than normal tonight, which might have something to do with all the drinks he had partaken in. Or maybe he was just using that as an excuse, to say things he’d normally be… more refined… in his delivery of. But whatever the reason was, it didn’t matter, because he was having fun with this man, and he wanted to have even more fun with him tonight.
His eyebrows raised at the words carved into the sand, missing Sajahka’s head movement. Which just led to one more miscommunicated message for the night. “Oh really now? You say yours is better?” He glided over and eyed Saj’s nether-regions, quirking an eyebrow with a grin. “You haven’t even seen mine yet… that’s awful presumptuous of you to make those kinds of claims. I think my pride has been wounded…” He pouted at him, slipping next to him and running a hand across Saj’s lower back, leaning down to whisper into his ear. “… I just might have to prove you wrong.” He was never one to back down from a challenge, and this was no exception.

Given his now semi-extensive experience with it, it did not take Sajah long to realize that something had been lost in translation. Again. Between the arch of Leukos’ eyebrows, his tone and comeback, and the almost challenging, peacocking manner with which he moved in, Sajah could guess the next moment what he thought had been said, and-
Well, by the time Leukos’ hand was at his back and his breath at Sajah’s ear, it didn’t all seem to matter very much so long as it all continued to move forward like this. Leukos did not seem genuinely offended and if he wanted to turn it into a mating dance of bravado and forward showmanship, who was he to back away from a challenge?
So, even as the heat of Leukos’ breath still tickled at his throat, he reached, catching behind Leukos’ hip and turning in a near pivot to bring them face to face, chest to chest, and — with another hand to Leukos’ opposite hip, catching to hold and tug at his waistbelt there — pelvis to pelvis, which, with a grind of his hips, at least made no secret of how much Sajah was enjoying the night’s festivities. And, so long as no one else saw, he reasoned, it would be alright that he had to press up onto his toes the sand in order to reach Leukos’ ear with his lips when he leaned in—and then with his teeth.
When he dropped back to put breathing space between them, it felt as though he had just finished dancing again, or still was. In the sand he scrawled:
do it

As his partner twisted to press their bodies together, and teeth nibbled at the fin of his ear, Leukos found himself grinning impishly as warmth coursed through his body, fighting off the chill of the cool breeze. The interactions between two people as they responded to each others’ subtle ― and not so subtle ― advances, the push-and-pull between two forces… he loved all of it. The chase, the dance, the courting: almost even more than doing the deed itself. It was all an elaborate game, one he was always happy to play.
So as Sajahka pulled away to scrawl his message in the sand, Leukos stepped forward and with one fluid motion, wiped the words away with his foot, hooking his fingers under the cowl of Saj’s cloak to pull them together again. He leaned down, bringing his lips just a hair’s breathe away from the other man’s, murmuring huskily.
“I think you mean… please… do me?”
But just as soon as the words left his lips, he pulled away with a mischievous grin― side stepping around Saj as he gave his rear-end a smack. He started walking backwards down the beach, winking at Sajahka as he began nibbling on his forgotten snack again. “Now… as fun as it would be to just get down to it and see what happens right here… I think I’m in a bit of a… bed mood tonight. Or a table. Ooh, or the wall―I haven’t done that in a while… But I suppose we could try all three, depending on how much energy we have... So why don’t we continue this at my place then, yes?” His words are almost a purr, completely relaxed as he slowed down and came to Saj’s side again, reaching out to play with one of his braids, twirling the end about in his long fingers.

As he was hooked in, Sajah allowed himself to be tugged, leaning with the pull and giving a puff of an exhale when Leukos stopped just short of—well, anything, except to speak. When after that he dropped further away still, Sajah frowned, and gave a snort at the tap to his backside. That hadn’t been what he’d written. But at least in this case, he knew Leukos knew that as well as he, and there didn’t seem to be any immediate harm in the re-interpretation.
It was more or less accurate, though he would have to make clear at some point that there were limits to what he was willing to engage in with a stranger. That, though, could wait until it was more imminently appropriate.
As Leukos continued, though, Sajah relaxed further still, for everything suggested sounded agreeable so far as he was concerned, and if it pleased Leukos as well that seemed all the more reason to encourage it. Leukos leaned in, taking Sajah’s hair into his fingers, and Sajah’s eyes dropped again to the man’s lips. This time, he didn’t bother with the sand. It didn’t seem necessary.
“Mm.” He nodded the affirmative, and then notched his head, gesturing out with a hand in an inviting, ‘You first…’ manner. If it was to be Leukos’ house, only he could guide after all.

With one last large swallow, Leukos finished off the last of his sausage, quickly booping Sajahka on the nose with the tip of the empty skewer. “Perfect.” He brought it back to his own lips and tapped thoughtfully as he started walking off in the direction of the inn he was staying at. “This is going to be quite the little adventure; I’ve never done it with someone who can’t talk before. Don’t hesitate to make it known if there’s something you’d like to try. I’m sure we can find… other ways… to make our desires known to one another.”
He turned to look at Sajahka again, giving his chest a few taps with the skewer, an earnest intensity suddenly coming over his previously whimsical tone. “But please don’t let me get away with something you aren’t comfortable with, just because you can’t voice your complaints. I wouldn’t want that... You have my permission to kick my arse or leave if I start acting like a drunken jerk. I want us both to enjoy ourselves… that’s the most important thing of all...” That was the goal every time, with no exceptions. No one deserved to have their trust betrayed in so personal a manner. That could never be allowed to happen; he knew all too well what it was like…
But he wasn’t going to let himself linger on dark thoughts of the past. The night was beautiful, his belly was full, and he was going to spend the evening with someone he had come to be positively intrigued by. So he tossed the stick into the gloom past the glow of the street-lamps, switching back instantly to his previously frisky attitude. “But enough of all that! Let’s talk of more pleasant things. Like… what a lovely color your hair is! Though I’m not so sure about the cut; I’ve always been one for long, thick hair. There’s something that’s just so wonderful about running your fingers through your lover’s hair… plus it does make a lovely handhold, if you’re into that sort of thing. Which I am… just so you know. Go crazy with it; I love it when people play with my hair! Then maybe I can return the favor by touching where you’d like it―”
He continued chittering on in this manner as they walked, gesturing large and excitedly to pass the time. From time to time he’d try to remember to stop to let Sajahka get some grunts or motions in, but it was hard; he had the nasty habit of being an attention hog, always trying to be the one in the center spotlight. Over time he worked on getting his long hair unbound from its up-do, sighing contently when the black tresses were freed down his back as they reached the door to the inn he was staying at. “Ahhh, that feels wonderful; nothing like taking off something that’s been restraining you all day.”
He opened the door and started to head up the stairs, pulling a key out of his waistband and twirling it about his finger. When he got to the door to his room, he worked on the lock and pushed it open, tossing the key inside. Suddenly he turned and grabbed hold of the front of Sajahka’s shirt, pulling him close to press their bodies together, leaning in to kiss the crook of his neck.
“So let’s get started taking some things off you...”

I’ve never done it with someone who can’t talk before…
Sajahka snorted softly, watching and listening as Leukos went on. Occasionally, his mind provided answering commentary. Remarks he could have slipped in if he’d had the means, but nothing worth writing out. He wondered if this was how it felt to be on the receiving end of, ‘I’ve never done it with a blonde before…’ ‘I’ve never done it with a fish before…’ ‘I’ve never done it with an amputee before…’ Well, you may soon check off that ‘f-ck a mute’ box on your bucket list, do you feel particularly well rounded now? But Leukos seemed pleased with himself, and earnest — well intended, if not especially tactful — and Sajah certainly was not hurt, so as the corner of his lip edged up with amusement at his own internal musings, he allowed the topic to pass on with the rest of them.
It was more important that Leukos seemed to genuinely recognize and be ready for assertions of boundaries, and by the time he reached the subject of hair, Sajah’s attention had moved on with him. He didn’t personally pay his own appearance much, if any, mind. He dressed for public decency, protection from the elements, and as a means of concealing his weapons. His hair — well, he supposed it was styled, but once the way it was, it was reasonably easy to maintain.
When Leukos unbound his hair, Sajah watched with particularly intent interest. Though he didn’t pay his own much mind, he loved to see it on others on display—and, of course, it didn’t hurt that he knew Nyko enjoyed to have his touched. He could have reached then and there, to touch, catch, bury his fingers in it. But he knew there would be time, and it would only be a matter of minutes before it would be more appropriate. And he was right.
As soon as Leukos’ door shut behind them, there seemed to be an excited finality to the situation, and as Leukos’ lips touched to his throat, he found he couldn’t have agreed more with the first assertion out of the man’s mouth. Weapons went first, thunking one by one to the floor as he unfastened them from their various locations — at his wrists, his hip, his back, his thigh, his boot.
Then everything else.
