"Damned if I know." With a scowl that threatened death upon anyone who displeased him, Lukas splashed his way back through the water to reach Lex on the shoreline. "This is bullshit. What are we..." He trailed off abruptly as a soft sound, different than his voice or the faintly lapping waves, and spun on his heel. Ever so slowly, a figure arose from the water behind him, building and growing and shaping itself into a tall female sort of form. Lukas held himself very still for a moment. Then he straightened his posture and dropped his hands to his side. He smirked reflexively. "So what's this then? Nereid? No, wait. This is fresh water. Nymph, right?"

"House is playing majorly dirty. Wonder what is haunting it...ooh." Lex trailed off blinking and ooh, well, she was pretty. Certainly fae like, hair too pale to be white, it was glowing, and eyes cold and sharp and... "Well, someone was doing their homework," Lex quipped as Lukas corrected himself. He fished out his phone, turned, and grinned when he got himself and the nymph and Lukas in the shot. The Nymph could let him have a selfie if she was going to be dragging him out of the nice warm haunted house.

The speed and skill of Lex's selfie assault left Lukas gaping for a moment. Then he made a low, dismissive grunt in the back of his throat and he stepped away from both Lex and the woman. He eyed her suspiciously. She stared back, slightly unfocused. Finally, he sighed. "What? What the hell do you want?" "You must come with me." Her voice echoed strangely as if coming from a deep, dark well. "There is trouble. You must come and make us whole again." Lukas glanced at Lex, eyebrow raised. Other than that, his expression had turned to stone. He wanted to see which way the kid would jump.

A few more quick pictures and Lex tucked the phone back into his pocket, and dipped his hands into the brass knuckles and brought them back up, and adjusted the weapons. "Okay...that... that sounds really umm, hmm. Yeah, just no? Not without you explaining the trouble more and who us is? And then we can plan something." Lex was not eager to go with the nymph. Even if she was all sort of pretty, at least not with some sort of plan. There is trouble, come and fix it was just a s**t explanation.

While her expression did not alter in the slightest, Lukas felt the lake-lady's anger and impatience as an almost physical presence. Considering his blunted emotional antenna, this put him on alert and he tensed with anticipation. "You must come," she repeated, voice monotone and unchanging. "Below the water. Now." Faster than thought, she lunged and Lukas shouted a curse as he felt irresistibly strong fingers, ice cold and clutching, close around his bicep. His grip tightened on his axe. Before he could swing it upwards at his attacker, however, she pulled with all the force of the tides and down he went. Down into the cold and the wet and the black of the lake. Quote: 1-2: Once they are below the water's surface, Chosen find themselves within safe pockets of air, being guided deeper toward the bottom of the lake. Here they find an SUV with three sleeping twenty-somethings contained within. The woman tells the Chosen that she's been protecting them, keeping them in stasis and 'haunting' the lake house in her efforts to get someone to come help. They must bust open a door [HP: 20] in order to rescue those within and bring them to the surface for medical care.

Welp, that answered nothing. "How about no..gah," Crazy b***h! He sputtered as he was pulled down, though the cold, black, and wet depths. Lex tightened his grip on his weapons, curling his fingers to keep the knuckles in place. Okay, why could no one actually talk to them? I need you to go into the lake because, yadda, yadda.

As Lex fumed silently, Lukas discovered that they were not, in fact, drowning but instead being lead from air bubble to air bubble by the strange water woman. He decided to handle this in his usual mature, adult fashion. "Goddammit, what the hell? Lady, are you out of your goddamn mind?" She lifted a long finger to her lips. Then she pointed ahead through the dim waters. "There. You must save them." "Look, you damn water witch, we don't have to..." Lukas trailed off, staring in the direction she indicated. A looming, solid shape had come into focus and he stepped forward thoughtlessly, nerves still on edge. Slowly, despite drifting sediment and the cold, he focused until he made out the shape of a dark colored SUV, nose down in the dirt. He looked back at the creature and then at Lex. "I'm going to check it out," he announced. Before he could move more than a few steps, the woman spoke again. "The children within," she whispered, "I can only keep them alive for so long. They sleep. They sleep deeply. I cannot free them, though. There is too much iron." Shaddaling OMG I SUCK. I AM SO SORRY. sad

Oooh, Ooh... welp. "Really, how difficult is it to say? Hey, a bunch of kids crashed in the lake, can you get them out?" Lex questioned, motioning with a hand to the SUV? and talking more to the air and perhaps Lucas then to the Nymph. It wasn't like she was listening. Lex ran fingers over the knuckles, feeling the smoothness of the metal as he walk to Lucas. "So? Plan A is what? Smash a window?" He question, curious. Because they were down here, and it wasn't like they could leave without the kids.

"Sure. Works for me." Lukas managed an expressive, underwater shrug. Then he indicated that their little Nereid friend should stand away with a quick jerk of his chin. She nodded and just barely made it out of the way before he swung his great, heavy axe up to his shoulder and let go. The momentum of the swing combined with his aim to land a solid blow to one of the windows. Amazingly, it did not shatter. It cracked in an almost smug and smirking manner. Lukas growled a curse filthy enough to color the water around him. Weapon: Greataxe Damage: 5 Car: 20-5 =15

Lex watched Lucas, appreciating the swing, the guy was built and attractive in the older scruffy way. And it was a good swing, though it didn't break the window and damn. Lex covered his smirk with a hand, filing a way a few of the curses for later. He approached the window, looking over the cracks and aimmed his punch, swinging forward to hit the glass and okay, that was a lot harder then he thought it would be. "You think it would be easier to break... it like glass." Weapon: Brass Knuckles Damage: 2 Car: 15-2=13

"Well, yes, magic," Lex replied and moved about the knuckles a bit, watching the swing appreciatively. "You are rather good with that." Probably better then he would be. He was a slender stick. He stretched and just overly annoyed with all the bs that had happened in the last 24 hours or so, punched at the glass hard and watched it crackle and break. <******** yes." "'Bout damn time." Lukas still grinned as Lex's blow finally broke the glass and then, without hesitating, reached through to unlock the door. It took a moment and the application of brute force until he could get it fully open. Once it was, though, he reached within the vehicle again and started working at seat belts. One by one, he pulled out the twenty-somethings inside and laid them on the lakebed floor. The protective air bubble continued to hold strong through the process and Lukas counted his lucky stars. The last thing they needed was the three kids they worked so hard to rescue drowning before they got to land. Once all three lay quiet and still on the ground, he regarded them thoughtfully. As he had pulled them out, he had absently judged weight and he wanted to make as few trips as possible. Then he looked at Lex and regarded the slim weight and strength of his partner. "Okay," he finally sighed. "I can probably manage two of them if you get one. Think you can? We need to haul them to the shore."

Lex rotated his wrist, beaming at the broken window. "Tadaaaaa." He checked over his knuckles making sure he hadn't got glass in his hands before shoving the pieces of brass into his sleeping pants pocket. He paused, looking over the young adults as Lukas brought them out of the car and debated on what had brought them and their car out this far into the lake? Had they parked it on the ice and just sunk? Drove off on the ice for lols? He blinked and nodded, sauntering over. "Should be able to manage. Maybe the Nixie or Nymph can help or something." He knelt, considered, and then tucked his arms into the the persons armpits and hauled up. Omph, well, he would managed. They were just sort of heavier then he expected.
