"I doubt Rodney would appreciate laundry the same way, nor is he in Life. But yes. I suppose." He just wanted to be able to have everything he wanted and it just didn't seem like he could have it at all this time.

"We can still talk to each other at work. I'll...maybe see if there is a house close in towns. That way you can come over if you need to talk. I'll....check in, okay? To see if things are fine or if something shows up not being fine." He wasn't sure how his relationship worked with Rodney so he wasn't sure what Lawr talked to him about in the first place.
"So....can I at least hug you?"

It was just all damage control and he didn't like it.
"There isn't any harm in hugs, I can't see why not." he said weakly, that at least wasn't cheating.

"Good." And he moved in, pressing into Lawr and wrapping his arms around him, pressing as close as possible. The warmth of him. The smell of him. It was hard to think he wouldn't be able to have more of this.

Lawr held Melvin close himself, up close always seeming much smaller and more frail than the hissing and standoffish creature he seemed to be from a difference, listening to Melvin's heartbeat intently and basking in the warm between them, it was cold in the forest and it felt nice to have a little heat.
"I'm sorry for infecting you still." he said. "I'm sorry for a lot of things, as sorry as I can be. I don't know how or when I got so good at destroying everything for everyone around me."
He let his hand drop casually to Melvin's hips, too used to being casually intimate with him. "You'll make some woefully undeserving person very happy."

He didn't remove his hands, instead sliding them behind Lawr's back. "Don't. People hurt each other. I hurt you plenty, and I'm sorry for that. I just like to think we made each other happy though too. I decided to stay in the end anyways. Rodney wouldn't want to be with you if you did destroy people. And the STD wasn't like you forced it on me." Or that he hadn't enjoyed receiving it at the time. "I'm talking to Life on working on getting it removed as best they can."
He breathed Lawr in with clear abandon. "Don't write me off as hitched so soon. You raised the bar pretty high. It's going to be near impossible to find someone that even remotely fits the bills."
