"Sometimes it's hard to keep a short fuse from catching." Her eyes lingered on his face for a moment as though she was looking for something. She wouldn't have been able to tell him what if he asked, however, so she looked away, instead setting one of the mushrooms on her appetizer plate, delicately cutting it in half before popping a portion past her lips. "Mmm." She savored the flavor for a moment with her eyes closed before swallowing, eagerly popping the other half into her mouth with the conversation all but forgotten until she finished her first mushroom, lightly dabbing the corners of her mouth with her napkin as Prissy might have were she here. I do pay attention to you sometimes, Priss. "I'm sure traveling would be a bit easier if you could just pop in and out of places-- It takes a bit out of you, though, even if you can go anywhere you've been before." His house, for example, she could take them to any of the rooms he had shown her during her visit... Back to the school, their car, or to the top of the tallest building in town, as Labyrinthite had taken her. No, that's for special occasions. He took you there for a reason. "Your favorite place that you've ever been?"

"It isn't the same if you can just pop in and out of places. Sometimes getting to the place can be just as enjoyable. Take a train ride for example." He got another mushroom and a piece of bread coated in pesto. "Not the ones in town but a proper classic passenger train. Taking one of those across the country to visit somewhere new makes the trip twice as much the adventure and you get to experience something most people will scoff at." He'd taken a few trains across Europe and Asia and they had been amazing additions to his travels. "My favorite though ...." He took a bite of the bread while he pondered. There had been so many good places. "Tibet I think. The country is beautiful and the people there are amazing. The way their faith is in every part of their life and how open and friendly they are. I try to go back every few years or so."

"I don't think I would do well trapped on a train." She shook her head slowly, carefully setting another mushroom on her plate, cutting this one into quarters as it was larger than the last. Her lips remained wrapped around the small appetizer fork for a moment as she pondered, slowly pulling it past them so that she could chew and swallow. "Not enough places to go, or things to do, limited only where you could wander from one end to the other." She would feel trapped in the same way that any four walls sometimes made her feel trapped, skin humming and in need of a distraction. "Are you a spiritual man, then, Mr Cappello?"

"I find the scenery quite a good distraction and ..." He smirked slightly. "If you get a state room there's plenty of other ways you can distract yourself. Some of the trains now adays also have specific cars with entertainment and varied dining so you don't feel so cooped up. Almost like a moving hotel." But he could see how it could be a bit claustrophobic if someone wasn't used to it. "I've never been particularly spiritual myself but I can see the pull of it. They do also tend to harp on quite a bit of it in anger management classes."

"Maybe one day you can tell me a little bit more about the other ways one can be distracted on a long, dull train ride." Katrina flashed her dinner partner a soft smirk of her own before leaning back, anything else she might have said interrupted by the arrival of their dinner. The idle chatter and questions continued through their meal, most of them remaining a bit lighter and revolving around food. When they'd finished dinner she declined desert, letting him know that she would take a rain check on the treat for 'good behavior' in the name of not finding herself sick on the ride home. He paid for dinner, which she had expected, but she thanked him for it just the same, allowing him to help her back into her coat as she stood before slipping her arm through his on their way back out the door. "I know we'd mentioned taking a rooftop stroll after dinner, but I honestly don't know how light on my feet I am capable of being after all of that. I promise it's not a cop out, or a way of avoiding getting to know you better as you stretch your legs, but... May I have a raincheck on that as well?"

"Two in one night. I may have to fear i'm losing my touch." He looked a bit hurt but his tone was teasing. That kind of food was always heavy no matter what you picked and even though it had been delicious he knew what she meant. It felt more like ti was time to home and relax. He nodded though as they headed back down the street away from the restaurant. "We just have to make it back to the school an then I will let you off the hook for the evening. I'm sure you need to return that shirt and let that pasta settle."

"Entirely your fault for picking out something so delicious for dinner." A soft smirk touched her lips as she gave him a gentle nudge, glad to pick up on that note of teasing in his voice so she wouldn't have to explain how buying her dinner hadn't guaranteed anything else. "I should have enough energy to get the two of us back to the school, at least." Katrina gave his arm a gentle tug back towards the alley after making sure that no one was paying attention to them. Honestly, it probably wasn't all that odd for someone to disappear down an alley after a date anymore in Destiny City.

"You did ask for something good and mentioned seafood." He smirked as they disappeared into the darkness. "I thought it would be a nice treat and you seemed to enjoy it." They would have to make another date for dessert and their rooftop stroll though. "School is fine since my car is there and I wouldn't like to have someone tsk at me for leaving it in the lot all night."

"I did, and you most certainly delivered." She brushed her fingers lightly along his arm as she stepped back, letting the shadows climb up over her again. She stood before him once more as Captain Tourmaline, eyes drifting over him to commit what she could to memory before reaching out to take hold of his wrist. It wasn't necessary for him to power up in order for her to teleport them. She waited for him to nod that he was ready before carrying them both back to the school where she'd left her own car parked, hopefully not too far from his. "Safe and sound."

"That is still a rather disconcerting feeling that I suppose I will have to get used to." He shook his head slightly glad that they were in the same lot that he'd left his car in. Since she still had a grip on his he caught her hand and lifted it up to brush a light kiss against her knuckles. "I will leave you here Captain. Until next time." He let go of her hand and smirked slightly as he stepped back so he could head back inside to get his things.

"It gets easier the more often you do it-- Still tiring, and at Captain they generally discourage teleporting anyone other than yourself, unless you have to." She stepped back as he released her hand, letting her eyes hold his as he moved. "Until we meet again, Mr Cappello." She smiled softly as she powered down before crossing the parking lot to her car. She glanced back over her shoulder once before slipping into the vehicle to head back to her flat. It might have been a long week, but at least it had been a good night.
