Hold had heard of a nice sounding little booth, one where you give a gift and recieve a token. It seemed to fit in with the spirit of the season and he had managed t ofind a nice little trinket to hand over, a pretty little cluster of berries which smelled nice and probably would taste even better. Sure it might not be the nicest gift recieved by the friendly looking doe at the front of the line but he hoped she liked it anyways and he was willing to stand and wait to hand it over to her.

Flawed looked between the twins and decided to go to the smaller line and when he walked up to the buck he set down the shiny rock he'd found earlier, only to be sent away with nothing. Quietly he took his trinket, and walked off again.

Only Broken Bones was not at all sure why kin collect things, or what good tokens were, but his daughter seemed keen on gathering as many as possible. So he stood in line to show off this bauble he had found. Normally his competitive nature would pit him against the buck. But the buck was no gaurantee at a token. And he had promised Walk this Road that he would gather a token from this thread. So he waits in line to see the doe.

Finally she sees him, and he sets down the trinket, a pinecone tightly wrapped in layers of dried leaves. "You'll need to tend it carefully, shelter it from the wet. Give it some warmth and it will open it up so its seeds drop." he explains. "It's from my home land, high in the mountains."

Okay, so perhaps some trinkets were worth keeping, he certainly had saved the few bits he'd brought down the mountain with him. And only his love for his child could make him part with it.

"Here's a fish corpse," beamed Okay is Wonderful. "I cleaned it off myself!" She dropped the skeleton at the doe's hooves. "Be careful; it's a bit prickly!" It was also starting to smell, so it really was surprising that she hadn't been turned away yet.

As The Sun Burns watched as kin came an went, baring gifts of all shapes, sizes and colors to a pair of kin. One was kind and accepted all with a smile. The other was more... particular. Watch waited as the buck declined amber and feathers and many other tokens.

Maybe, perhaps, the buck was looking for something less physical?

The stag stepped forward, his sunset eyes afire and trailing magic and begun to spin a story.

"Once on a night of heavy snowfall--" But before the air had begun to chill and illusionary snowflakes had begun to fall, the buck shook his head, uninterested. With an indignant snort, the flurries faded and he walked away.

Watch knew when he was unwanted.

Rejected again! Beauty was sure this buck had very eclectic tastes.

Real Big Fish had come with treasure to share, a very specific and particular kind of treasure. The gar scales were enormous and tough; dull and bony, they formed tiny plates and showed off her formidable skill as a fisher. She placed one in front of the doe, then stepped back, beaming down proudly.

Beauty had decided on a dainty little speckled rock that she'd found on the border of the fairgrounds, because it wasn't like she was picking random things off the floor for this buck. Third time's the charm, it seemed!
