OOC
"Mayor! Mayor Pokerus!" Came the frantic cry of the assistant imp tripping into her office, tiny arms waving manically. "We have trouble!"
"What else is new" Came the bored reply, the dragon ghoul busy standing in front of the clear window that gave her a bird's eye view of the city, adorned in a important looking coat and jacket. watching the tiny specs below. Humans walked two and fro with nervous glances, knowing they were always watched by the other side. Below her a child strayed from her mother for just a second, distracted by something. She watched it wonder dangerously close to a shadowy alleyway.
It only took a second. A rotten hand reached out, a scream, and the dragon gritted her teeth in anger.
It was extremely difficult to control halloween creatures with such easy FEAR walking by, while simultaneously reassuring humans that they were safe and would come to no harm. She may of been the mayor, but her citizens rarely listened to her. It was hard to blame them though; many of them were starving.
It hadn't been long since their worlds had collapsed into a singular entity, with halloween becoming the dominant race. Humans had tried to fight back, but their weapons had no effect, and it was almost hilarious how quick they fell to tooth, claw and magic. But as soon as the takeover had been complete, the FEAR levels had drastically fallen to a mere fraction of what they were before, barely enough to sustain their existence. Meanwhile the levels weren't enough to explode a human, but they created some nasty side effects; headaches, dizziness, nosebleeds, paranoia, bleeding from the eyes, the list went on.
During the day the effects subsided, allowing the humans to go about their normal routines. But come night, halloween creatures would come out in droves to feast on their FEAR, pooling their talents together to harvest as much as they could. This left many humans traumatized, and if too many citizens resided in one area, letting their energies run lose, well...it wasn't a pretty sight.
And yet, as troublesome these problems were, they paled in comparison to the clashes of horsemen and hunters. Both of them could wipe out entire groups of humans and monsters in the blink of a eye.
The room around her suddenly shook, the assistant behind her falling again and rambling on incoherently. Looking through the window she could see the mushroom of a explosion in the distance. So this is what her assistant was on about.
"Right, I'll handle it myself"
The imp looked thoroughly shocked. "B-but, you can't!" She protested. "You have to attend the dissipation prevention meeting, and issue orders to keep our citizens safe! Surely you can't just send the boogeymen-"
"The boogeyman are too busy being jacking useless." She snapped, knowing of the internal disputes that plagued the division. "Plus they'd just kill everyone. Hunter and human alike. No, it's better I do it myself."
She pressed a button on the wall, and the glass panel receded into the floor, a cold wind blasting through disturbing all the unsigned papers. Her wings grew from her back, stretching wide and catching the wind as she leapt from the skyscraper, sailing through the air as more explosions bloomed below, scattering the crowds like ants. The dragoness already knew who was causing these explosions, her tail swinging to allow for a sharp bank to the left around another building. She could already see humans laying on the ground, their bodies still, while the lingering energies of halloween citizens lingered in the air. Below her was the bright flashes of FEAR clashing with hunter weapons in the middle of a busy road; the two groups were at it again, ready to destroy the other and take back the world.
Not on her watch
She drew her wings in and descended, her boot driving into the war horseman's skull and dissipating him immediately. The hunter that was fighting him stood back in shock ready to take on this newcomer, but she ignored him, clawed hands reaching for a nearby conquest clan member and throwing them into the nearest skyscraper. Her wings flared, tail lashing, drawing air deeply into her lungs before she opened her jaws wide, letting lose a deafening roar that would be heard for miles.
The fighting stopped, both parties looking towards the source of the noise.
"KNOCK IT OFF!" Pokerus bellowed, baring her teeth and just daring anyone to come close. Which of course they all did, all charging at this upstart, but she was prepared. With a sinister smirk the ghoul reached out to grasp one of the many vehicles, the sounds of crunching metal echoing in the air as her grasped herself a lovely BMW, thankfully empty of any occupants.
With a grunt she swung the heavy vehicle and watched as horsemen and hunters went flying, though there were more horsemen caught in the attack. It quickly became apparent who's side she favored, the dragon lashing out at the horsemen and all but ignoring the hunters, choosing to defend and dodge their incoming blows.
Soon enough the horsemen had either dissipated or run off, leaving her surrounded by hunters who either looked confused, angered, or wary.
"I'll say this once!" Pokerus spoke again, the hunters all pointing their weapons. "I don't care what you guys do to the clans, as long as no citizen of halloween gets hurt. But if I see you so much as look at one the wrong way..."
And just like that, her wings opened and she took off, leaving the bewildered hunters to figure out what the ******** just happened, while she flew back to the office with a grumble. Her words were just empty threats; she couldn't take on both hunter and horsemen, and even with her favoritism the hunters were losing the war. Most of those back there were barely even trainees. Plus, every time she helped them she drew more fowl of her own people, their anger that their own leader would help the enemy. Pokerus couldn't help it though, the image of that child flashing before her eyes.
Her wings beat more fervently then before, a slow climb of ascent back to the office, her clothing stained a heavy red. She had put on a brave show of intimidation but as she landed onto the plush carpet her legs gave way, body collapsing onto the ground. The horsemen were not so easy beaten, their weapons inflicting heavy damage. And as she lay on the ground, her assistant calling for healers, she wondered just how long she could keep this up.
