Sylvia chuckled and grimaced a bit. “Well, it wasn’t necessarily how drunk you were. I saw plenty of people just as drunk, if not more. It was,” she shrugged, “a little presumptuous of me, really. Given when I know of you in general, I just wasn’t sure that you got that drunk on any typical holiday, so…” She gave a sheepish, almost embarrassed smile. She had definitely made an assumption, which could be dangerous, but it seemed to have worked out.
Most of the others who had gotten sloshed seemed… well, sort of used to it. They’d been hanging around the liquor anyway, or there was something in their energy or nature that just seemed like they were inclined to often make a party of a situation if the means were available. She wasn’t as worried about them because they would hopefully, by then, know how to take care of the situation the following morning. Besides, she didn’t know most of them well enough. At least she felt close enough to Brian, and cared enough already, to feel like she could follow up with him and make sure he was feeling okay.
She shrugged again. “Just keep making sure you stay hydrated and all that good stuff. Which I’m sure you know, but,” she shook her head and rolled her eyes at herself. Of course he knew that. She just couldn’t help herself. She scooted to the edge of the bed and offered a smile.
“Well, I should probably get out of your way and let you get back to recovering.” She glanced back at his pictures and give a small nod, “Thanks for telling me a bit more about yourself. It’s been nice.” Hearing more about people could be hit or miss – sometimes you got more information than you ever wanted or needed – but she was enjoying getting to know the few friends she had here. She stood and adjusted her shoes. “If you need anything else, I’m not far, so,” she chuckled a bit, “let me know if I can help.”[ 343; 4,803 total ] grasshopper pie ALMOST A MONTH LATER ;; <3

"Well, I try to not, because I... well. Do what I did." Of course it was usually less dirty dancing and more heart-pouring, but he almost preferred the Halloween party. People often didn't want to hear what he had to say or else held it against him for a long, long time. It was just a better idea to stay sober.
"I'm sure I'll survive. Thanks for the care package, though." Brian stood and went to the door to see Sylvia out properly. Just because they'd been moved into dorms didn't mean they didn't have to be polite. "Any time you want to chat, you can feel free to come on over." He also wasn't usually a chatter, but he had new friends here. It was different than the squads he had been a part of over his life. He opened the door and smiled. "This had been nice, Sylvia. Thanks."

Sylvia chuckled. She didn’t think that Brian’s drunk antics were all that bad, considering, but she could understand being embarrassed. He at least got a nod of understanding.
“Of course!” He would, of course, survive. Still, even realizing he was properly equipped with a medical family of his own, she was glad she had stopped by. If she was honest, even properly informed men people could often be terrible at taking care of themselves. And she continued to enjoy getting to know Brian better.
“Same to you,” she turned back with a smile at the door and watched him for a moment. Then she stepped up to him on tip-toes, cradled his left cheek in her right palm, and kissed his temple. She always liked an element of ‘kiss it better’ for some reason. Hopefully Brian would be alright with it. “Take care of yourself.” With a wink, she turned on her heel and headed down the hall.[ 158; 4,961 total ] grasshopper pie It happens!
