Mik gave a few exploratory pats and strokes, before more resolutely looking for something out of the ordinary, but he didn't find anything at all. Just a normal person. It left him completely puzzled. "I don't get it."
"Is it because you are a little smaller?" he said. "Because there's nothing wrong with that! It's better for some things I bet!"

Melody fidgeted and blinked before staring at Mik in complete astonishment. "You don't care?"

Melody looked both relieved and tired, "That's all then." She pulled her knees together and shifted uncomfortably. "You know all of me."

Mik didn't get it at all, why someone would be ashamed of that particular thing, but nodded anyway. He didn't think he knew all of Melody but had to simply take her word for it as best he could. The desire to brace himself for some sort of shock later on down the line didn't lessen but he set it aside for now.
"Thanks." he said, feeling it was the only thing that was appropriate to say. He wasn't sure most people truly knew him, not in any depth, but he didn't volunteer anything either.

Melody started to look more relieved than she ever had in months as the reality of the situation sunk in. Someone knew and they didn't care. Not just someone either. She slumped just a little, a comfortable slump.
"Thank you Mik," She looked at him thoughtfully. "For being cool." Then carefully crossed her legs.
"And I'm sorry I made you think I didn't really like you. I do like you Mik," she reached out to gently touch his arm. "You're so enthusiastic about things it's absolutely contagious." She smiled at just the thought. "It's just hard getting to know you. The real you. You seem to like everything and you don't really talk about the future. It's almost as if you only exist in that very moment."

Mik nodded in approval. He was cool. That was good.
"I just don't know who likes me and who doesn't these days. And yeah! I love lots of things! I really just.. I love the world, I love the way it all looks, I love the animals, the trees, the sand. I just.." And his eyes turned a little cold again.
"I think its just people who are the problem."
He gave her a slightly sad little smile. "I don't even know the real me either Melody. I got kind of lost a long time ago."

"Well, people are animals too," she teased while giving him a little side nudge and wink, she completely missed the look he'd given.
She offered him her hand, "well, sometimes it helps having an extra set of eyes when you're looking for something. I'll look with you. If you want."

"They aren't." he said. "Not animals, different from them." And this made him shake his head. "Most people are anyway." Not him. He could feel the wolf in his mind stirring and smiling at the unspoken embrace of what he'd been telling him for so long. He could be a wolf, he could lead.
He eyed her had carefully. "Uh. You'll like, forgive me if I don't shake your hand. I don't..trust handshakes very much. But yeah, I'd like your help."

Melody looked at her own hand then lowered it back to her lap with a nod of her head. "That's something new I learned about Mik," she smiled. That and he's hornier than a bull with a Viking's helmet, she mentally added.
"What is your favorite thing?" She tried not to think about that.

"It's not really a thing." he said. It was just something he thought, he didn't consider it a trait. "Dad uses the handshake thing to sort of, bind people's agreement to him. I don't want people tied to me, I want them to choose me for other reasons."
He shrugged. "As for like...my favourite thing?" he looked puzzled. "I don't really have a favourite when there are so many nice things in the world. I er. I do like.. sexual things though, I think." he said with a big grin.

Melody had never thought of it that way. She'd always considered a handshake a gesture of mutual agreement. But Lawr did have a way about him. Turning seemingly innocent things into his venom to intoxicate his victims with. She nodded with understanding, "You have a unique way of looking at things." She was starting to see why.
When he confirmed her description of him, she did blush a little. "I envy you for that. You can just come right out and say it. Even if you're not sure, you're clear." She looked a little anxious, "I do find you very attractive... It's just hard for me."

"I've had a long time to look at things." he said, and found it all too easy to learn how to use the tools that Lawrence did. Part of him had wanted to shake her hand, part of him still wanted to say all the things he could feel she wanted him to say. He figured he could get her to sleep with him, if he wanted to, but didn't think it would be entirely right to do.
He still might. It was an easy sort of power and temptation, maybe not now, maybe in a while.
"There's no reason not to say things though." he said. "What is there to be afraid of? We have a lot worse things to fear."

"True," Melody conceded. Her eyes lowered in thought. "Would it be okay if I kissed you?" She lifted her gaze again to look at him curiously.
