At Rob's compliment and then gentle complaint, Misha turned, eyes already rolling and mouth set in a playful pout. When confronted with his naked-but-for-blue-paint chest, however, she altered her plan of attack turning on a dime from sulk to flashy tease. The casual assumption that Brian was her date snagged in her head and she filed it away for future attention. Sure, she came in with him but they were just friends. Very, very good friends... And he had seen her naked but so had others and that was just the craziest week, right? Brian was ever the gentleman about the whole thing, of course.

However, this was a different kettle of fish. Rob deserved a good return sally for both his once-over and his comment. Misha sighed melodramatically and lifted a hand to touch her not-inconsiderable chest as if regretful. "Sorry, Rob," she sighed. "I'm not made of money, you know, and it would cost a fortune to get this group really truly hammered. As much as I'd love to."

Then she lit up with a million-dollar smile, dropped her hand, and somehow managed a neat little curtsy. This time she included Lex in the gesture and winked at them conspiratorially as she straightened. "Am I going to have to do penance for my shortcoming? Do I get points for the beer and wine, at least?"

Sylvia accepted Brian and Misha’s compliments with a grin and a small curtsy, “Why, thank you. And Misha, you look fabulous.” And Sylvia appreciated the cheeky aspect – Catwoman, after the week she’d had. She was glad to get compliments right off the bat, too, even if it was somewhat expected at a costume party. She hadn’t exactly felt pretty during much of their last mission, so it was nice to hear that her work for the night had paid off. She chuckled at Brian’s comment, cocking her head in amusement at Misha’s follow-up. She probably could have guessed that Brian would be picky, but she was definitely curious as to what he had turned down before settling with the Green Arrow (whom she also hardly knew, to be honest). At least the leather (pleather?) suited him.

Sylvia stepped back slightly when she heard Beth’s voice, making sure she was included in the small group that was now gathering just inside the doors. She admired Beth’s dress, and returned the nod of approval. “Mm, I love our juxtaposition.” They certainly must have clashed beside each other, but they were both in lovely gowns, if she did say so herself. She also loved being a faerie, traditionally pretty on the surface and wicked underneath, beside a vampire who didn’t seem to hide the wicked. Something about it amused her.

Sylvia nodded in agreement over their ‘creative’ costumes. She had never been a huge fan of the typical ‘slutty ___’ costumes that inevitably made it out each year, whether they were just hanging on a rack or actually being worn. She generally preferred to throw her own costume together. She had indulged in a few costumes to show off her figure, but never in a generic ‘typical outfit, cut down’ way. Granted, to each their own, and plenty of people liked those options… she just wasn’t one of them.

Rob’s approach had her grinning again. William Wallace, was it? Without the armor, though – and she thought her walk had been chilly. She nodded graciously at his welcome, but was not surprised when his eyes wandered to Misha immediately after. She had a feeling that Misha would get an extra helping of attention for her chosen costume for most of the night – and rightly so. She was stunning. Sylvia instead turned to Lex, who had also procured a gorgeous costume. “Oh, honey, that suits you.” She grinned.

Mercy didn't know what she was going to wear to the Halloween party that Misha was throwing [bless her kind heart~], till she saw something interesting on Pinterest. Hurmmmn...She was thinking about going as Harley Quinn [Albeit a far curvier version], but what if she went as something totally different? So, she ordered the required items she needed, and BAM! Instant awesome outfit that she could manage to actually fit into! When Mercy walked into the gym, there was no one around, which she didn't mind at all, putting her earbuds into her ear for some music while she started working on setting up the various games she brought with her just in case everyone wanted to do more than chill [if she were honest with herself, chilling seemed to be the right thing to do after all that mess at the swamp].

So busy she was that she never noticed people coming in, she was absorbed in setting things up so that they looked nice, pretty, and organized. Once her task was done, she turned around and jumped out of her skin, taking the earbuds out with a smile. Everyone looked so good! But...Now she didn't know who to talk to first. She spotted Rob, Beth, and Mish with some other chosen, but since they seemed a little busy, she wasn't about to intrude. There was also Caleb, Asher, and Ed, but once again, they looked a bit busy...

However, she squinted once she thought she saw another familiar face. Was that?...She made her way over to where Lawrence and the most adorable looking angel she's ever seen were standing, poking the mini Devil in the forehead. She did notice the other man from the herms party, but she didn't think she caught his name. "Looking pretty dark Ms. Cleo~" she turned to the angel then with a smile. "Hello~ I've seen you at the Hermes party, but I never caught your name. I'm Mercy." She gave the angel a friendly smile. "You look absolutely adorable by the way. Best looking angel I've ever seen~"

(Mercy's outfit can be seen here if you want a visual~)

"Did someone say hammered?" Mal smiled wickedly as he slipped in. He was dressed as Indiana Jones, circa Raiders of the Lost Arc; once he took the distinctive leather jacket off, he was wearing a once-white button down shirt, half unbuttoned and a sleeve rolled up, one shirt-tail untucked, the cross-wise brown bag, and whip at his hip. He even had the hat, and had left his glasses behind.

But he was also carrying a generous donation to the liquor stores for the party; he hefted a crate of assorted liquor, wine, and beer. Leftovers from the beach party that hadn't gotten finished off or taken away, but he was entirely glad to donate them to this party instead.

Lawrence's gaze raked across Mercy as she headed over to them and he graciously allowed her to poke him without too much complaint, smiling graciously as he gestured at Rodney. "Why thank you~" he crooned. "It was nice to be a little darker for a change. This is Rodney, my fiancé, Rodney this is Mercy. He does look rather lovely doesn't he, but then again so do you." and he gestured at her outfit. "You wear the look well, I wonder if you are capable of the dances which could top off the little masquerade."

He didn't dwell too long on the declaration of Rodney's relationship status to him, aware that to most it would seem hurried and out of nowhere and not about to ruin the very good thing he'd managed to get set up for himself by over-discussing it. There was also the issues he had with certain sexualities and applying them to himself which were wrapped up in it all.

"Regardless you look good enough to eat."

"Rodney Michaels," Rodney said softly, introducing himself, but looking slightly embarrassed at the compliment. He pinkened at Lawrence's introduction, tugging his already-long sleeves lower over his wrist.

"Yes," he agreed, again very quietly, so far oblivious to Lawrence's leering. "It's kind of nice to do something normal, in comparison to the past month."

It wasn't terribly likely that anything was going to be able to bother Ed tonight, not after tossing back that first cup of spiked punch, nor after anything that was to follow. The Res was a happy drunk, and after the wonderful adventure in the swamp, being drunk sounded like a great idea.

So he didn't seem to mind much as Asher laughed at Caleb using the same line that had irritated him not even a minute previously. Hell, Ed laughed too. "Nope. I told you, though." He snerked, gaze lingering on Cat woman across the way as he took another long drink, then actually turned his attention to Caleb.

And almost spit out his punch.

"Wow." To be fair, it was a nice stomach, but he was almost certain it's exposure was accidental. Caleb wasn't throwing off the vibe of someone that had dressed to draw as much attention as possible. Well, probably. "Ah, no. The punch is spiked, and I'm pretty sure I saw some wine and beer."

Beth grinned and preened under all of the compliments. It was, after all, her favorite part of parties. Not all of the quiet whispering among small groups, or sniggering behind hands, or retreating with a favored friend to continue festivities in private. That moment when everyone saw her and acknowledge the effort that went into coordinating outfit, makeup, and hair, as well as the final results of it all.

She managed not to nervously check her hair or sleeves at Brian's words. She was able to manage a small grin in his direction before Misha stepped forward to hug her. She tilted her face away so that she didn't press against anything that might come away with pale makeup--no matter how it was sealed or set, one could never be too careful. Her hand did float up to hold Misha against her, gentle pressure between her shoulder blades. "Your costume is so fantastic!" There was something like a pang in her chest as she saw how gazes lingered on her cat-suited friend, but she managed to contain it almost as soon as it struck. "Maybe so, but there's a lot you can do in a midthigh skirt that you can't do in a ball gown."

Beth appreciated the shirtless Scotsman with a gaze but said nothing. She hadn't been introduced, though she filed away his easy smile and how Lex was on his arm. A strange look went over her face at the mention of Brian being Misha's date. Had they come to the party together? A host of wriggling thoughts tried to make themselves known, but Beth ignored them in favor of turning her attention to Lex.

"You certainly that outfit with style, Lex. Not exactly what I had in mind when I said we could go thrifting." She giggled and waved in greeting before her attention was snagged by Sylvia.

The faery was a lovely idea--she wished she had thought to coordinate with someone else for a costume (but it had been hard enough to get the costume she had shown up in). She threaded her arm through Sylvia's linking them elbow to elbow and shared a smile with the girl that thoroughly conveyed her bad intentions. "I'd even say we look badass." She giggled. "Don't cross us, foolish mortals?" She offered, knowing that she was undermining the threat with her rising intonation and the twinkle in her eyes.

She blinked at the Indiana Jones who appeared, lugging some alcohol with him. Her eyebrows shot up a bit at one person bringing so much. Though, she thought after a moment, it was good that someone was trying to keep enough in stock to go around. They were not an insignificant number. "I think you've covered getting hammered pretty well there." She observed, casting a glance at the crate. "Though I think I would prefer simply being buzzed to alcohol poisoning."

"Thank you Sylvia," Lex replied, preening slightly at the compliment and grinned at Beth. "I do love the fashion of the roaring twenties, less focus on the bodice. But look at the both of you. Sylvia you are radiant tonight. Beth, I am loving your outfit, very bold." They paused, thoughtful. "Beth, have you met Rob?" They questioned, motioning to their companion. "Beth, this is Rob. Rob this is Beth."

"Misha, I would give you points for the beer and wine if I wasn't certain you borrowed it from a dorm." Lex shook their head and smiled. "You look like trouble, planning to steal hearts tonight? Or at least steal the show?"

They paused looking over Brian's choice of costume, lips slightly purse. "Hello, Brian. Your costume seems a bit.... tight," They said dryly, amusement clear in their mismatch eyes.

"Pay me to do what?" Caleb looked blankly at Asher, not following the question. Meh, it wasn't the first time he didn't totally follow what people in the Prytaneum were saying, and it wouldn't be the last. What did grab his full interest, however, was the mention that there was beer. How did he miss that?

"'scuse me for a moment," he pardoned himself as he hurried over to the bar to grab a beer. Much better, he thought, as he made his way back to Ed and Asher. "Found ya again," he teased.

"So you're Waldo and you're uh...," Caleb looked blankly at Ed, forgetting the character's name. "Mister America?"

Brian turned his head to Misha and nudged her with an elbow.

"Your date, huh?" The way he'd said it and the lopsided grin on his face clearly implied that they weren't. While the charade might be fun, he was also well aware that Misha was a single lady and this party was full of attractive men. He didn't want to ruin her chances. Mostly, though, he'd just wanted to tease her.

It was nice to finally hear Dreadlocks' voice for once. His name appeared to be Rob, and there was something to be said of respect for a man that came out in autumn Michigan shirtless for accuracy's sake. he offered a little chest-high salute and a nod. "Hey. Brian."

The ex-cop wasn't sure who the blonde was with Rob, though. She was certainly stylish, whoever she was, and-- oh lord that was Lex. The blonde's words echoed in his mind: "'he' is fine for today." Thankfully he'd remembered, or else this might have been especially awkward for everyone. Lacking knowledge of the proper pronouns, Brian just smiled and nodded.

"It was this or 'shirtless werewolf' or 'shirtless doctor' or-- well, you get the picture," he said to Lex. He lifted his feet slightly as if adjusting the confines of his costume. Yeah, it was a bit tight. Better than half-clothed, though! "You look amazing. I wish I was that creative." But, again, he only barely knew who green Arrow was in the first place. Halloween wasn't really his thing. Usually he worked them, but so much for that.

Then the words "badass" and "hammered" came right out of Beth's mouth and Brian, already sort of thrown off by the luxuriant red gown, couldn't help but smile and let out a little huff of laughter. Well then. She was just full of surprises.

"It is spiked?" That certainly perked Asher's interest -- which meant while Caleb got a beer, he poured himself a healthy glass of the whatever-it-was, to sip at and enjoy at his leisure. His expression was thoughtful as he swallowed, trying to figure out if this was enough to actually do anything for him. It was hard to tell, with punch. It hid the flavors too well.

But at least he had a drink, now. That helped a lot, with the party-feeling-awkward vibe. He refocused on Caleb as he approached. "...and what are you meant to be?"

Ed just shook his head at Caleb's question regarding getting paid. He'd missed the joke, and explaining it would sort of ruin it. Besides, he'd already turned his attention to something else.

"Yes," he answered Caleb as the other man wandered away to find said beer. "And yes." The last to Asher, chuckling again.

When Caleb returned, repeating the original joke, Ed had to hide a smile behind his glass before shaking his head. "Captain."

Misha smirked at Brian's jokes and promptly leaned over to brush a purely platonic and completely affectionate kiss over his cheek; the heels made the gesture much, much easier, she was pleased to discover. Before pulling back, though, she murmured warmly, "Oh, you wish, Handsome, but we'll see how tonight ends."

Then she drew away with a bright grin and a bit of a giggle, refocusing on the others with the prompt practice of a hostess. "So you see I only did half the Lord's work, ladies. I couldn't quite get him out of his shirt so I put him in tight pants. It's a good compromise, I figure." Turning to nod at Lex, acknowledging their assessment of Brian's outfit. "But you look absolutely stunning, Lex," she added. "So sleek and perfect!"

However, hostess duties called and, after light touches to Lex's wrist and Rob's shoulder and another set of brilliant grins at Beth and Sylvia, Misha turned her full attention on Mal. "Come on, kind sir," she drawled as she took a moment to grace him with a warmly appreciative once-over. It was subtle enough to avoid alerting the others but she had a feeling Mal would catch it and smirked. "Let's get that awful burden off your hands."

Turning on her heel, she sauntered off, hips swinging, and led him towards one of the tables near the punch bowl.

"What am I?" Caleb cocked a brow towards Asher. Was it not obvious? He was wearing a Tom Brady jersey and holding a deflated football. Did he not get the reference? "I'm an a*****e." He grinned.

"Or, you know, Tom Brady," he said, before taking a large gulp from his beer. "Not a football fan? What's your sport?"
