"If only I could do more." He admitted honestly before going on with his work. He had always been a kind hearted man and it was showing even to main landers...perhaps he had been here for too long. Still, concern only knotted his brow as he started to dig out the bandages.
Unrolling the wrap, Kieran spoke softly, "I'll try to be as careful as possible so please keep still..." Stepping right up behind her, the Yaeli bent down so that he could slowly begin trailing the bandages across her skin...

Aaricia closed her eyes and sighed. Do more? What more did the man think he could do? "I am sorry," she said slowly. "You are.. helping more than you know. I cannot ask more than this of you." Her skin prickled again as the gentle hands wrapped the bandages, plus the light breeze that swept along her back. She would wince and flinch away a couple times, but made herself sit tall. "Thank you for your kindness, Kieran." She shifted slightly to look back at him. "It's a shame.. that people fear others who are different from themselves. I do apologize for my.. behavior earlier. You must think me as such a child..."

His breath against her neck, Kieran continued to wrap the bandages carefully. As he finished the Yaeli finally pulled back and let out a deep breath, "Finished." He declared before blinking over at her suddenly apology. In fact, such a reaction caused a soft laugh to escape him. "Trust me, you have nothing to apologize for. By far your reaction was one of the more welcomed ones." He shook his head, "Had you appeared on Yaeli a few years back then perhaps I would have done the same to you. So no need to feel ashamed."
He gave her a small smile before reaching over to offer the jar towards her, "You can keep this - that way those ribs heal quickly. Okay?"

Aaricia felt the warmth of the man close to her, the damp breath reminding her of Kieran's comment before. No, Oba didn't have damp air, but people did. He had said that the damp air might harm her.. but this felt....
Blush hot, she wrapped the blanket around herself to hide the oddly warm chills she felt. Her hand slunk out from the folds of the blanket, eyes focused on the jar. She would have to hide this in her clothes somehow. "Thank you for your help." How many times was she going to give her thanks? So silly... "I don't usually carry much money on me. How much do you want for this?"

"Nothing." Replied Kieran hastily, "You owe me nothing. Just having someone trust me was enough." The Yaeli smiled before taking a few steps back, "I'll be waiting outside so once you are dressed and feel well enough I can either make you a meal or help you back into the city. Just let me know~"

Aaricia's brow rose with real surprise again. "You.. want nothing in return?" The concept was lost on her. Ever since coming to Oba, she'd met few who wanted nothing in return for actual work done. She wasn't sure what to say...
Once Kieran left, she stood slowly and pulled her clothes back into place. The corset... she tied as loosely as she felt she could get away with. She smoothed her hair back and wiped at her face to chase away the heat resting there. Tucking the jar into a little pocket, she walked out of the tent. When she turned to Kieran, she opened her mouth to say she was heading home. However... "Just.. a small bite perhaps?"

"Just a smile and thanks were plenty." Teased Kieran lightly as he brushed past her, "I'm a simple man so riches don't tempt me." Just knowledge - that was his only treasure in this world as he was determined to find out everything. "A small bite then?" He smiled, "Sounds good to me. I have some soup - should be light enough for you. Don't mind my terrible cooking, however." Going towards the firepit he had created the Yaeli focused on setting up the fire so that he could put the pot on to boil, "Do you mind me asking, but are you truly an Oban? I've never seen one like you before..."

Aaricia felt her stomach gurgle a little and put a hand over her stomach. To be able to eat without being watched every moment... She doubted she could get much down, but the idea was nice.
Sitting on the log, she tucked her legs modestly and let her hands rest in her lap. Not the most comfortable thing, but she wouldn't allow herself to complain. The question made her smile slightly. It was about time the questions came back at her, after the way she had behaved. "Half... My mother is of Zena. She's where my hair and eyes come from. ..That's where I was, until my father.. brought me here a few years ago."

"Ah, so you're another hybrid." Kieran poured soup into the warmed pot, "I haven't traveled to Zena yet, but I hear it's a cold place. Must be a transition." He did raise a brow at the commentary of her father, "I see. Your mother must miss you dearly." He was confused about why her parents would be separated, but then again if he could connect the dots about her father and the reaction that man's name brought Kieran could begin to understand. Especially with those bruises...it was even more tempting to watch over her. Could he let her go back to such a place?

"A transition.." Aaricia's eyes slid away. "Zena is covered with snow. Some days, it seems harsh, but other days, it looks soft, like a feather pillow."
Of course, Kieran had to say those words... Aaricia's eyes welled up... "I do not know," she whispered before a sob made her cringe and hug herself. "I miss her..."

Kieran's voice was low and gentle as he replied to her comments, "Sounds like a wonderful place indeed though from my time here it seems like there are a few wonders in this world. The desert is not so bad, especially once you get through the sands. You would be surprised about the treasures I have found beneath the surface and even on the land itself..."
His gaze softened as the girl let out a sob and the Yaeli found himself moving forward to place an arm around her shoulders, "My apologies, I should have realized..." His arm tightened around her comfortingly, "You know we're out away from everything else...if you need to then let it out. I won't tell, promise." The Yaeli let out a soft sigh, "I had a mother too once, but lost her long ago. Even I had to cry at times, if not then I would burst on the inside from all the bottled feelings."

Aaricia wiped a hand over her eyes and shook her head. "No.. There was no way for you to know..." To know that she'd been torn from Zena and her mother unwillingly? That she had no idea if her mother was alive? She couldn't involve such a kind man... but his arm was comforting. "I.. shouldn't. It hurts." Sniffling, she winced again and pointed to her ribs. Really, sobbing would make her pass out! She hated pain... Besides; if she started, there was no telling when she would stop.
She peeked up at Kieran sympathetically. "I am sorry about your mother," she murmured, reaching over to rest her hand on the man's knee comfortingly. What better way to forget one's own problems than to focus on someone else's?

"Point." Kieran offered a small smile, "Still, I suppose once you recover should you need a shoulder then I hope I can be around to offer it." Strange for him to say, but something about the girl reminded him of himself perhaps. He just hoped his offered comfort would help her to understand that she was not completely alone - something he felt she would need considering the condition even he had met her in.
The sudden switch in comforter did give him a start. How did she? Smiling faintly, the Yaeli simply shook his head. "Thank you. I lost her far too young so in a way I suppose I can relate to your pain - different though similar at the same time." His arm left her shoulders so that he could squeeze the comforting hand, "I try my hardest to live life the best that I could and in a way to make her proud - I'm sure you'll live in a way to do the same for your mother. If the spirits bless you then I'm also certain that you will meet again."
Letting go of that hand, Kieran stood and poured a bowl of soup for the girl. "Here. Eat up and rest so that you can feel well enough to return." He'd watch to make certain that she could hold her food and have some strength before taking her back home.

A shoulder? Honestly, she hoped that he would be around as well. He was quite pleasant to talk with. It was a nice change; especially after she had begun to isolate herself after that mess...
"That is a fine ideal," she agreed. To live as to make her mother proud. She didn't know if her mother was alive, but either way.. she wanted to be able to walk talk when she next rejoined that wonderful woman.
However, that meant doing what was frowned upon... She couldn't do that though. What a heartbreaking thought. Aaricia kept her eyes down to hide her disappointment in herself and slowly nodded. "One bowl.." she said, eating a little more eagerly than was considered 'polite' for a lady. Food at the party was minimal though. Maybe she would even eat through the whole contents of the bowl! She could be a rebel! The soup managed to stay in her belly, but she certainly couldn't get the whole bowl down. "I should be going. Your help.. I cannot thank you enough, Kieran. I do hope to meet you again, under better circumstances, of course."
