Isobel Penrose || 25/25 HP || shyly contributing
Tibbie had overheard the group's conversation as she neared and found herself in the same conundrum as everyone else. What to do? She didn't know a lot, mostly second-hand info from the earlier group talk in the scarlet foyer - but there was one thing she'd been told directly.
"Um... There was a lady who told me that if we want to prevent pain, we should get some dirt on one of the patrons." But maybe it was too late for that? She didn't know the exact time, but it was rather late surely. Already she was regretting opening her mouth, but the words were out and she was left standing around looking awkward.

jeremiah mercer || 27/27 || entering with algie and hear to discuss the things Speak of the devil, or the case may be the bullfrog, and he would appear. The snippets of the conversation as he walked in with Algie were caught, though he did not necessarily hear all of it. There was a mask on his side once more, though he was holding this one in particular for someone once he managed to find them again. Or- "If the moonwalkers are exempt," he said as caught bits of what Jamie said, "then you may wish to give your mask to Shiloh, Jamie. That still leaves us with another mask for someone else." What Zac said was interesting, about there being two missing. Jeremiah gave him a small smile, noticing something about his eyes for a moment, before he gave Shun a nod as well. Nathaniel got a flick of his hand in greeting as well as the others he knew that were there. "I don't know that we can avoid bloodshed at all," he shook his head, eyes glowing brightly. "The only thing we can do is push it the direction we want and hopefully the one that sees the best end. Again, that is relative to what we believe is the best end and, f rom what I've been told, there may not be alternate paths but we may surprise the council yet." Though if they wanted dirt on the patrons ...

Shun Kuroda 25/25
Shun nodded once to Ashton.
"Sunny. Right. she is here tonight... what if this has to do with her ascending somehow? Whatever that means in the first place," he shrugged.
It could end up being either really good or really bad for them.
Turning towards Chel, he was about to nod in agreement as far as picking someone out to nominate for the council first, but that soon stopped as he saw who she was wanting to vote for. While he had sort of forgiven Juniper for what she had done at the theater, he had not forgotten it by any means. He just shook his head at that, not trusting the girl to make good judgement calls.
And then in came Jeremiah. He nodded once, slowly, to the older man.
"I also have three extra masks in my possession. From Autumn. But that does not really help us decide who should die tonight. Just assists with keeping a few extras safe."

[20/25 | LEILA]: giving thoughts "Yeah, I don't think we can avoid someone getting killed." Leila shook her head, resisting the urge to bring her knees up to her face where she was sitting. "We're roped up in someone else's game, and they're the ones set up to be the main characters. "I have an extra mask, though."
Perking up, she added, "But whoever gets a seat at the voting table should come see me first. I might be able to see something you can do."

"Talkin' like that is just givin' the ******** up. Ain't you s'posed to be cops? What happened to protectin' everyone an' s**t?" Chel, maybe unsurprisingly, did not have a high opinion of law enforcement.
Stubborn as always, Chel crossed her tired little arms. "M'not votin' for a quitter."

Shun Kuroda 25/25
"I am not hearing you offer any better suggestions. I also see no reason why I should even want to protect the likes of Melany and her ilk. The way she runs this court reminds me of some criminal leaders I know of. This is not giving up. This is finding a way to make things ******** work in our favor," he stated, narrowing his eyes at Chel.

Lady: 25/25, thoughts
"You're not voting at all," says Lady. "You're trying to persuade them to see your view on things. So while it's best for you all to agree on who you're picking, in the end the decision will be theirs."
She nods at Eve, and leans into her. "The important question for all of you is, what do you want out of this? Do you want the tithes to go home? Do you want to end the Court? Do you want to ensure that justice is done to Father and Lady Melany?" She shrugs. "Or do you want to break the cage? Who you're going to sacrifice isn't as important as what your end goal is."

jeremiah mercer || 27/27 || ... Jeremiah's eyes darkened a moment at the mention of Sunny. "Yet she's-" The detective went silent a moment. "It may, it may not. Sunny is part of all of this, a key part of it, but this may not be her time to ascend. We do not know. Not with limited information and only a night to work it through." Jeremiah's glowing eyes flicked towards Chel but then back to the rest of the group. "I've still got an extra mask as well that can be put on someone that we wish to protect." His shoulders rolled, his stance shifting somewhat. "This isn't the first time this ball has happened, it may not be the last, but this tithe - this entire process - plays a heavy part in what will come, what we'll have to deal with eventually." Then, because he thought of it- "There are doubles of some of the people here, as some are aware, does everyone know if they've been unmasked?" He looked to Leila a moment and then finally back to Chel. "It isn't about being a quitter, it's about accepting the fact that we may not, no matter what we want, be able to stop it. Tonight you have to be able to accept that you may be responsible for someone's death. You have to be able to deal with that. I know I can because I have already." There was a nod given to Kuroda, mostly because what he said was accurate. "It isn't giving up at this point, it is about damage control. Save as many lives as we can while playing someone else's game." The detective looked to Lady as she spoke, a heavy sigh escaping. "The tithes need to go home, they were taken from our side. That is one thing I think we can all agree on for certain."

Shun Kuroda 25/25
"Two of these masks have come from the doubles of Alois and someone named Rabbit. Thorne has a double, but I am uncertain what his status is as far as being unmasked goes," he reported.
Shun fell silent for a time as he listened to Lady and Jeremiah speak. What did he want out of this? All of the above, really. The bigger question was what he wanted most. Ensuring the tithes can get home was a big thing, but at the same time...
He was trying to look at the bigger picture. Breaking the cage meant they could potentially take down the enemy. If that was even possible. Then there was the matter of the Burning Man and Spinel Lady...
"We will need to deal with the cage again sooner or later in the future. Being able to take down the enemy is... a lofty goal, I have to admit, however. Weakening or breaking the cage does not necessarily have to happen tonight... I think. However, if we do not stop Ezra and Melany now, what is to stop them from causing further grief in the future? These are also things to consider. Do you think there is a way to get the tithes back and to shut those two down all at once?"

[25/25 | EVE]: (: (: (:Knowing Lady was safe brightened Eve's mood in spite of the circumstances. Waiting for Jeremiah and Shun to finish up first, Eve considered the possibilities offered by Lady before offering more thoughts. "Honestly? If we can end the Court, that sounds like it would shake things up the most. This is a game that has been played far more than just once, and the Court is used to having control over it. At the same time, there's probably contingencies in place if this party doesn't go as planned..." she added, nodding at Shun, "which means breaking the cage may be a topic we can explore in more depth afterwards, at our own pace."

Juniper Wilcox
Bringing up masks, Juniper held up her own which had been nestled between her and the side of the chair. "I've got a spare as well. "
At Chells suggestion that she be the one they back for the council preform she sputtered a bit. She hasn't been expecting that at all. Still, she wouldn't oppose to it. Not if it got her the desired outcome she wanted.
Lady's insistence that they come up with a set plan was, very much needed apparently. Everyone seemed to be all over the place. And it seemed one guy was in agreement with Jun about the tithes.
"Yes. The tithes need to be sey free. They've suffered enough while being here against their will. If we manage this wouldn't it put a wrench in the councils plans? Make them look like folks for having been outsmarted by humans? "
(Shitty tag from phone. Not gonna attempt quotes. )

Chris Watts || 25/25 || Sliding in and listening, but not much help
Chris hadn't been in here too long - enough to catch most of the conversation, but he was sticking back for the most part and keeping his distance. He wasn't sure what he wanted to happen and he hadn't gotten anything useful regardless - just to stay away from Melany since she remembered him.
His only information of use was, "Thorne's double should be unmasked and Thorne should have his mask. I made a deal."

[ Temperance: maskless 25/25] "It seems we have a surplus of masks, for all the good that could do us." Temperance listened closely, making little notes on her pages. "I think the most important thing is to get the tithes home - to ensure no one dies. Or, if you must clarify, at least no one human, or partly so dies." She tapped her pen thoughtfully. "If we were to somehow end the court - how, um, do we do that anyway? But if we did, would that ensure people get home safely?"

Ashton Carver / 25/25
"Melany," Ashton smiles ever-so-pleasantly, "needs to be dealt with, I think. If manipulating the tithe is the best way to do that, then we'll manage a way. The tithes have managed three months -- they'll manage more. And if their masters are taken care of, will they still have to stay?" She pulls off her deer-skull mask, holding it delicately between two fingers. "I've also got a mask I don't need, of couse."
