"In actuality we only spoke of marriage a few times after our first night together in that manner, and fate had been kind to us in not producing offspring." She replied with a slight blush until she sat down at her writing desk. Naturally she smirked and shook her head. "No nothing like that. I'll update him on the family in an normal and casual manner, signing it as I would usually. Though I will add with child into it so that it's subtle enough he won't get into trouble should another read it before him." She explained before finishing the letter, reading it to the maid and finally sending it by way of dove to her beloved. "I just hope he won't be angered by the news and will still wish my hand in marriage."

Sarah reassures the pink haired woman and smiles at her vibrant glowing eyes. "If anything this will make him want to be with you even more that what already is. Good men seem to be that way, and if Kaiden would be like that for me then I'm sure Roland would be like that for you too." In actuality, Sarah had to apologize. "Athena, I want to say sorry. When we first met Roland I didn't trust him. I thought he was but a prince looking for a prized woman to use for his devilish desires but he's really shown his true nature. Even if there are whispers in the castle that Roland poisoned your father, I won't believe them and I'll defend his character for you when you can't be there."

That being said though we must keep this strictly between us until there is no possible way to hide it. The last thing Kaiden, Aldon and mother need is news of something scandalous like this." Athena replied hoping her dear friend would understand her meaning and fear. Of course when Sarah apologized to her for not trusting Roland when they first met she frowned and shook her head. It was the mention of rumours however that got her attention the most. "There have been whispers of Roland poisoning father? Such a thing would have been impossible for him to do while he was here. Father only left his room the once to speak with him and after that Roland took his leave.... He wouldn't have hurt father because of me." She said, clearly upset by the news and rather shocked that someone would even think such a horrible thing of her beloved.

After all Sarah's father was a spy for the kingdom. It only made sense to her that she be the same. "I don't believe Roland would have done it too. It's just that...the timing of it all was very odd. It's true your father hardly came out of his room during his end days but then the one day he meets a prince unbound to the empire his health takes a turn for the worse. Not only that, I heard that their negotiations didn't end up in Roland's favor." Sarah can visibly see how upset Athena was about this but she takes hold of her hands and stares bravely to the princess. "Like I said though, I'll put the staff in their place and defend your man when your not there. We sisters got to have each others back after all." A playful wink to play off the aura in the room, but Sarah knew what she says will be easier said than done. And just as though Snowy could read Athena's heart the faithful companion would lay many little doggy kisses on its master's hand.

"The timing may have been as such, but I can't see Roland doing anything to cause me and the kingdom such pain. Besides he even wrote words of comfort to me after I informed him of father's passing. His concern for myself and family was genuine...I'm sure of it." She replied before shaking her head once more. "If you defend him while I'm not around the whispers may turn on you and that wouldn't be any good either. Please be careful in picking the whispers you stand against." She murmured in response to Sarah's slight oath like statement, giving Snowy a gentle scratch on the head as thanks for his generous kisses. "Do you think it'll be a boy or a girl?" She asked with a small as she once again placed a hand upon her stomach, clearly trying to change the subject.

If it is to make Athena feel better then Sarah would not give a tongue lashing to ever single I'll word spoken about prince Roland but she can't felt bad for her princess. How difficult it must be to love someone others can not trust but what troubled the head maid more was the doubt in Athena's eyes. If the princess could be worried about lies should Sarah be worried too? Her duty was to her family and the royal crown above all things. Just as a precaution Sarah would be sure to investigate this matter a little further and perhaps be Athena's guardian when Athena and Roland meet again. Snowy was such a good boy, when he wanted to be, and no one loved the dog more than the princess herself. While Sarah wasn't in tune with animals like Athena and Maiden she never really had trouble with Snowy; Except for the earlier year of puppyhood, when the bugger would get into her sock drawer and go to town on them. "Snowy might protest but I say it all depends on the position." Sarah pokes Athena's arm playfully. "My mother showed me a book on this subject before, and in the book it said for a boy a woman should be in a submissive position. But if the intended mother wanted a girl then the woman should be more dominate and be in positions where she can be rough with her man." Sarah then giggles and ask, "What do you think the baby will be, lady princess. A boy or a girl?"

Naturally thoughts of being a mother and loving Roland were mixed together with the fears of her family disproving of her choices and doubts about Roland not having a hand in her fathers death. Perhaps the next time they got a chance to meet and talk, she would ask him about it, but until then she would stick to her belief that he hadn't poisoned her dear late father. Of course the sound of Sarah's voice pulled her from these thoughts and made her blush deeply. "That is a rather unexpected thing to hear you say. It couldn't possibly depend on the position the lovers took, that's far too silly." She murmured before giggling a little. "I don't know which it is, but I hope this first born will be a boy. Roland would love to have a son and I would be overjoyed to see the two of them playing knights." She replied while gentle rubbing her stomach. "Perhaps after this child is born he and I will be able to have a daughter as well, to keep the odds even against one another." She joked before breathing a soft sigh as another wave of nausea hit her. "Feeling and being sick like this is going to be difficult to hide from mother..."

She knew she wasn't all that experienced but since she always acted like she was more mature than Athena she felt a sting to her pride. "Hey, if you know a better way of checking let me know. Otherwise I'm trusting what the physicians write it the manuals. Hump!" Even Sarah can be childish at times; A grumbling girl with puffy lips. Yet when Athena mentioned her ill feelings Sarah immediately snapped her fingers with a blot of brilliance coming to mind. "Ambrosia shared a recipe for a tea with me last month exactly for this kind of morning sickness. I'll see if I can fix you a cup right away." With a quick hop off to the spot and a song in her heart it felt like she was back to her old self again. A guard even mentioned something about her sunshine being back when she skipped along to the kitchen. The one thing to bring some reality to her mind however was the fact Ambrosia had lost her children... Yet here Sarah was making this tea... "Here we are!" Sings like a song as she walks in with serving tray in hand, Sarah happily sways as she chimes back into the room. A cup for her princess and some more ready to pour in case Athena wished for more of the tea, Sarah made sure to bring herself a cup of something to drink too so that Athena could have a more relaxed visit with her friend; the tray sitting kindly at a small table. "The tea is of ginger and other flowers Ambrosia brought from the empire's capital. It won't always hide your soon to be baby bump but it will different assistant in helping keep the nauseous feels at bay." Sarah takes a sip of her tea, lemon with honey, before then smiling and speaking once more. "It's funny to think of Roland as a father when he looks that youthful, then again I could say then same for you my princess. Have either of you ever talked about names for children before?"

"I haven't a clue how one you check for such a thing Sarah, but that way simply sounds silly to me. One never knows though, the books might just be right." She replied in a gentle tone before blinking at the sudden snapping sound the girl had made with her fingers. "A tea? Well if it worked for Ambrosia then alright." She murmured as she watched her friend hop off of where she has been sitting and leave the room. Naturally she went about playing with Snowy while she waited, though her mind soon began thinking about things discussed. Could Roland have had a hand in her fathers death? Would he be thrilled at the news of her being with child? What would her family say about it? Would Roland still desire to marry her or would she be forced into another union to avoid scandal?
Thankfully the sound of Sarah's voice brought her out of her thoughts once again and she smiled warmly. "Ginger and other flowers huh? Well hopefully it works the same way it did for Ambrosia before the tragedy. Speaking of the poor woman, how is she? Has her fever and such broken? As for my soon to be baby bump, clothing shall work to hide it for as long as possible." She replied with a slight snicker before breathing a soft sigh. Of course she smiled a little brighter at her friends question on names. "We did for a little while once, but I can't remember any of the names we had wanted. I do remember though that we both wanted to name a boy after our fathers as a way to honour them. Why all the interest though? I'm no more than a couple of weeks, so there isn't much to really be concerned with...right?"

She has been lacking energy and isn't very active but who could blame her. With what's happened to the dear woman...My heart goes out to her, as well as my prayers." Taking a sip of her honey and lemon tea, Sarah found it difficult to speak about Ambrosia. She was foolishly jealous of the woman being friends with her prince Kaiden but now with all of that in the past she felt horrible for ever having ill feelings towards Ambrosia. If something ever happened to her own child while she was still pregnant Sarah doesn't think she would be as strong as Ambrosia has been through her grief. "There isn't much to really be concerned with? Now look whose saying silly things." Sarah wagged a shaming finger at the little princess and felt she needed to educate her little princess sister in a thing or two about babies. "There are many things to start thinking about, like who will be the godmother, where will he rule and where will Roland have you and the children living? Because I will hold him accountable and be sure he'll takes responsibility for making my sister fall for his stupid roughish whatever it is you see in him." Puffy pride and protection for her princess drove the maid to be on guard with the prince of Bellris but she also didn't want to see Athena get hurt...Of all things, she didn't want to see the princess get hurt after becoming so bewitched by a romance she dares to believe is true.

"I hope she will recover. The poor woman has gone through much and deserves rest." She murmured softly before blushing and quickly puffing her cheeks at her dear friend. "It's not like I know this already... I'm still learning as I go." She whined slightly before giving a huff. "He and I will work that out when we next have the chance. I don't think Roland would be so cruel as to leave me without some sort of assurance.... Granted carrying his child now and not being wed to him does give me some room for doubt I guess."

More like a field to flee in. Without the two of you being wed Roland could easily deny anything to do with the child if he so wished!" Sarah didn't believe that Roland would do anything like that but the possibilities are unknown. She never thought Athena would be so risky as to have the child of a man she is not married to but here is the princess in that expecting situation. "I don't mean to fill you with much more worry than you must positively have already, but I want you to know that whatever happens you won't be alone in this. Even if Roland dose disown this family he's created your true family and I will support you and your beautiful child as if it were our own." The woman hugs her princess close and holds her dear. "Never feel like you need him because you don't. You are princess Athena Bethany Llewellyn of Zalto, daughter of the proud late king and an heir to the same regal blood which flowed through him. Never forget your strength Athena."

"You aren't exactly helping the doubt Sarah..." She whispered. It was true though that there was more than enough room for doubt to be had, and that Roland could easily deny his involvement with her. Of course if he chose to do it would not only break her heart but ruin any chance of becoming the wife of a good man. Granted she was fairly certain Roland wouldn't leave her in that situation, but there was no real reason for him not to. As she listened to Sarah speak though, she gave a small nod. "That maybe true, but until I can be certain of Roland's feelings in this, I can't let anyone else know. It would destroy me if they were to find out and disown me. Just as it would destroy me were Roland to deny everything and turn his back on this whole thing." She whispered, a slight sadness in her tone though she still remained fairly calm.

"Athena, please don't water down. Stay strong and be sure in the love you have for each other. In fact I'm sure he's thinking of you right now and is wanting nothing more but to hold you in his arms and shower you with affection." Sarah squeezes Athena in her hug to tighten her arms around the woman and make her feel better. "So, how about we not get into the bad feelings before you strat crying which then leads me to cry and then we'll never get though this." Sarah jokes to her so that Athena would be happy with thoughts of a family rather than a sad outcome that won't come to pass...Sarah was sure of it.

Of course there was still the small seed of doubt in her mind about the whole thing, though it would probably be quelled once she receives a letter from her beloved. Feeling a bit better once the hug grew a little tighter, but she soon took a step back from her darling friend. "I'm not going to cry Sarah. I know that mother and my brothers will be happy once they finally find out, though perhaps angry about having it kept from them." She murmured softly before biting her lip in though a moment. "P-perhaps I should tell them after I've gotten word from Roland, that way I know his feelings on the matter and will be a little more confident in speaking with them. Granted with Aldon just becoming king and having to choose a bride, this may be a bit much for him."
