"What are you calling us best friends for?" In essence she was his best friend though. He didn't get a chance to hear an answer when she leapt at him. The small purple male felt her land on him and the breath be forced from his lungs. A soft gurgle left him as he rolled from under her, panting. "Fine..."He said breathless. "We'll play...rough if you'd like." Tail being stiffened for balence, Duhushi sprang atop her trying to keep her rooted to the ground. "Just give it up already. You know that you can't beat me..."

"Well, if you don't wanna be friends.." the grey cub replied sulkily, backing away as he rolled out from under her. She saw him coming and tried to dodge the pounce, but only managed to get partially out of the way, resulting in his landing on her hindquarters. "Oof. Real smooth." she mumbled, squirming. "You wanna let me up or something? I can't move..."

Duhushi shook his head. "Sure. I'll be your friend if you wanna be mine." He never had any true friends besides the ratel and Duhushi secretly longed for someone to be with. The startled cub let out an "Oof" when he landed. Panting, the purple cub smiled. "I don't need to be smooth if I accomplished my task seeing as you can't move." Feeling a bit odd Duhushi shifted but didn't get up. He couldn't let her win. "No. I think I like you this way rather then if I let you up." Suddenly his sentence seemed off by a few degrees but he thought nothing of it.

Amleth made an irritated noise in her throat and wriggled some more, managing to free herself slightly. She panted, giving up to catch her breath. "Fine, but smooth or not, you're on my legs.." she mumbled, ears flopping back as she wormed around to try to get a look at him. "Comfy as I may be to sit on, I have to say the experience is slightly less enjoyable for me," she drawled, prodding him in the side with a claw.

Duhushi lifted himself off of her and stood above her. "That better my poor little Amleth?" He let out a laugh that was more like a roar before stepping over her. Bones crunched under his paws as he pranced around her once again. "I told you that you were no match for me. Save yourself and just give in." His tail shivered with his fast movements and his teeth were bared in a grin. "Are you going to stay here for awhile longer or are you leaving in the morning?

Stretching gratefully as he let her up, she rolled her eyes and snorted as his egotistical ramblings. "Naaah, you just caught me off guard. I'd say we're pretty evenly matched. I'm just out of practice is all." She explained, nodding and looking nonplussed by his prancing. At the purple cub's question she looked thoughtful. "I dunno... I mean.. I need some sleep and food.. " she paused. "You're sure no one will mind me being here?"

Duhushi smiled as he watched her. "I highly doubt that anyone would object your being here considering that you're my only real friend." He eyes lit up when he spoke. "You can stay here for as long as you want since the queen love new lions who come and stay. You. Amleth, would be no exception to her kindness." His body fell with a thud to the ground as he began the routine cleaning of his paws.

Looking slightly confused at the attitudes of Duhushi and his pride, Amleth lowered her head a bit, hiding a smile. "Somebody's gotta protect you from your sisters, right?" She grinned. "Well.. I dunno if I'm gonna stay..you know.. forever..." the concept of forever seemed out of reach for the small cub, though the idea of staying with Duhushi's supposedly kind and accepting pride was very tempting. "Should I.. meet her, or anything?" Amleth inquired, tilting her head and watching him clean.

Paws seemingly clean, Duhushi moved his tongue up his legs. "You don't have to stay forever. Even I probably won't be staying forever but this pride is protection until I become older." In turth, he desperately wanted her to stay. "No worries in meeting her. As long as you are with me you will be safe. Father is quite the gentleman about these things." When he thought he was clean enough he stood, straightening out his striped mane with his sharp claws. "Think nothing of it Amleth."

Amleth watched her friend and thought about what he was saying. She'd always wanted a pride that would tolerate her, and this one, according to Duhushi, might even WANT her there. And she did very much want to stay with the purple cub; he was friendly and she got on better with him than anyone she'd met so far...and she knew she was hard to get along with.
"Okay.. well. I'll stay for a while," She decided finally, grinning. "Where'dyou live?" The grey cub stood and glanced at their surroundings, all of which looked kind of the same to her.

His tail went limp when she mentioned his home. Duhushi looked out among the bones until a particular bone caught his eye. " My home is by thaat broken spine. It is a small den but it's nice sometimes." The cub contemplated taking her there but remembered the goings on that happened whenever Ausha, his father, brought home a kill. "...but I do not wish to go there now. My sisters are still in the den and I'd rather them not harass you either."

Amleth craned her neck in the direction he indicated, and, spotting the spine, nodded. "Small isn't bad.." She assured him, remembering her own experiences trying to find hollow logs or patches long grass to sleep in. She yawned. "Okay, we don't have to go there..." She didn't understand Duhushi's fear of his sisters, and she was having thoughts like I COULD TAKE 'EM, but she was trying to respect her new friend's feelings as much as possible. "But, where will I sleep..?

Duhushi panicked when she asked for a place to sleep until he remembered a very special place. "I know where we can go."The cub showed her the maze through the maze of bones and rocks. Slowly he made his way over a tusk and slipped into the grand skull. "This is where Mama brought us and where my sisters and I first met our father." A smile crossed his maw as he spoke. "It's quite safe here."

Amleth followed her new friend through the maze of bones curiously, ears perked forward. She ducked her head as she entered the skull, crimson eyes wide with awe. "I get to sleep in a skull.. yay.." she murmured, gazing around. She turned to Duhushi. "It looks safe..kinda creepy though.." she grinned. "thanks."

Duhushi chuckled and walked beside her. "This was the first place I slept when I came to the graveyard. I hope it suits you Amleth." He sat back on his haunches and smiled to her. He had never shown affection to anyone besides his mother and father but it was nice to be so comfortable with someone again. Maybe I've actually found a real...friend. A soft shiver ran up his spin as he gently licked her cheek.
