gloom || 25/25 HP || talking with a friend! Gloom was briefly distracted by the many rings on the professor's fingers before those glowing white eyes slow blink and settled. "I had a brownie," he said very seriously, "that had a cream filling on the inside. It was delicious."

algernon mercer || 25/25 || has secret sweets "I'm jealous," Alg made a face. He was really jealous. The professor then moved closer to gloom and crouched a bit to be closer to his level, whispering as he reached into his jack. He produced a half of a beautiful bearclaw he'd saved. "You want in on this?" He whispered conspiratorially.

Nathaniel Parrish - 25 / 25 - casually meandering
He wasn't making headway on this puzzle at all. Folding up his napkin and tucking it back safely away into his pocket, Nathaniel stood up, brushing stray threads and lint off of his pants in an automatic, unthinking gesture. Then he slipped over to casually stand beside Gloom and Algernon, Nathaniel smiling down at the little creature.
"Hello again," he said politely. "Mind if I join you?"

gloom || 25/25 HP || talking with friends!!!! GETTING SWEETS!!!!!!!!!!!! Nathaniel, as he approached, was greeted by an excited squeak as Gloom disappeared from the chair and promptly reappeared, much smaller, on Algie's shoulders. "Yes, yes, yes!" Then, of course, the shadow marten seemed to realize himself and disappeared again to reappear on his chair. "I mean," he said trying to regain that prim and proper composure, "yes, I would like that and it is a pleasure to see you both again."

He seemed pleased by the revelation, "Nathaniel, this fellow and I are friends..." And then he glanced at Gloom with a dubious, playful look, "And what is your name for the evening masked stranger?"

There were people missing from the Scarlet Room and Chris, being the person he was, decided he was going to look for them. The first option was this room, which he had seen but hadn't ever actually entered.
It seems that in his search for Jer and Alg, he was in the right place.
He spotted Jeremiah, talking to The Red lady and Jamie quickly, seeing Algie a minute later with gloom and someone he didn't recognize. Whatever the conversation was between Jeremiah and The Red Lady, Chris could probably wait to interrupt it. He instead headed over to Algie, feeling both miserable and a little happy to see someone familiar.
"Hello," Chris said, joining the trio. He gave a smile but it seemed a little too worn, a bit flat for him. "Do you mind if I join in?"

Nathaniel Parrish - 25 / 25 - relaxing with Algernon and Gloom
A smile tugged at Nathaniel's lips at the creature's excited response. "Ah, yes," he said to Algernon, reaching out to tentatively pat Gloom's head. "I came to speak with him earlier tonight, he's been very pleasant to converse with, very friendly."
He didn't have any sweets to offer, but he sat gingerly on the edge of a nearby couch, half turning to face the other two.
"You've met before tonight?" Nathaniel asked, though he had the feeling he was one of the few who was a stranger to everyone else.
A thought driven more deeply home by the arrival of someone unfamiliar. Nathaniel lifted his head, eyes curiously following the newcomer as he came padding over to them. After a slightly delayed reaction, he hastily shifted to make room on the couch.
"Hello," he said, "Would you like to sit, or..?"

jeremiah mercer || 27/27 || speaking with krasnya Jeremiah's lips twitched briefly in amusement at the mention of his lack of fox mask before he realized just how tired she looked. "I was but someone decided that I was better suited to be the fallen frog prince once more." He glanced over briefly as he heard a familiar voice. Chris had found them again but was aiming for Algie it looked like. "Krasnya," he said quietly, "you're not wearing a mask." gloom || 25/25 HP || talking with friends!! and a new one too!! "New friends are always welcome," Gloom spoke up as Chris approached, tiny paws taking the broken off piece of bear claw and very daintily eating it. He couldn't mess up his waistcoat! Or his bow tie! "I am-" he had to stop from saying Gloom because, well. Algie didn't know! "I am the Friendly One." Then he chittered quietly. "... and you are all good friends. The Professor is teach-" Gloom hushed again because he was giving it all away. Just let him quietly eat his piece of bearclaw, okay.

"The friendly one-" Alg stood, breaking off a bit of bearclaw for himself and then handing the rest over to Gloom afterwards, "-and I are in secret training." He leaned in with a whisper. It sounded better that way. "Chris-" When the blonde approached he looked worn out. "Are you alright?" Alg put a hand on the younger man's arm before remembering his manners, "Nathaniel, Chris." He motioned back and forth. "Where've you been?"

"Oh! No, it's fine. I can stand, don't worry," Chris said quickly, feeling bad for making him scoot over suddenly.
He gave a grateful look to Alg, but turned back and said, "Pleasure to meet you Nathaniel, The Friendly One."
Manners mattered, anyways.
"Oh I've been around. I was in the Scarlet Foyer just now, there was some stuff talked about..." He trailed off, trying to consider how to answer the other question.
"I'm.. no. I'm not really," Chris finally admitted quietly to Alg. It had been a long night. It would be longer still.

jeremiah mercer || 27/27 || . . . Jeremiah had caught sight of two Alois but he was not quite sure what it implied, just like he was aware there were two of the young girl in front of her. Yet the one that existed was likely several years older now. The detective lieutenant lets out a breath. "I know," he says, his voice quiet and just for the both of them, "that you did." Glowing eyes focus on her, his fingers resting briefly on the mask on his side and then flicking over to Algie and the others. "The evidence that we found it- It was under his nails-" her DNA, "but it made no sense, given that you are, for all intents and purposes, in Russia." He wants to rake a hand through his hair but doesn't, instead rubs at the side of his neck. "Why you, Krasnya? Why not someone else? Why did it have to be you?"
