It wasn't long before the men that had gathered to investigate, made sure everything was fine in the area before leaving. Torches along the streets were lit now to illuminate the way as it only grew darker. There weren't many people walking around, well, not civilians anyway. Ree could catch a glimpse of at least two occasions of a human wearing a white featureless mask standing at a corner of cross-streets before disappearing after a blink of an eye. It was almost hard to have noticed had Ree not already been on edge and looking around.
From high up, he could find a few places that appeared to be good places to hide out for him, less populated areas but not so much that it could be a place they would check.
Places that may be a suitable: The school building A closed store. Library Playground Free option if you think of something else. midnightspirit Please roll a D20 in your response.

Ree blinked and narrows his eyes as he watched another human in a white mask disappear near a cross street. Magic? Hiding? He didn't know and while he cared he knew now to go walking around right now. Two of them there might be more...might be police or military presence for this area. Makes sense if you took over an island to make sure everyone was inside by a certain time and not out conspiring against you. Ha..ha.......... The cat muttered something about being an idiot and he didn't counter it, instead looking around a little more intently for something suitable wondering how Vina will get past them..if she got past them. There... Pulling shroud to cover his body for a bit, wings protested as he rested his hand on the edge of an attic window of a house that seemed dark. Tilting his head slightly to look through a gap until he could see the edge of the latch and pulled it open with with telekinisis before pushing the window open and looking inside.

As the moon was taking its place into the sky, it didn't look like the masked figures noticed Ree as he moved, sticking to shadows and only appearing out of the corner's of ones eye as they patrolled the city.
Looking into the attic, it didn't appear that anyone had been up there in a very long while, piled with dusty boxes and other unused items. The home was obviously lived in but everyone appeared to be asleep.
No one would come to find Ree during the night, as the night went by peaceful and the sun rose without any issues.
The next day, he would find people walking around as normal. There were no masked people out in the daylight and everyone acted as though the incident yesterday had never even happened.

Ree slipped inside the attic, moving to the balls of his feet as he walked quietly inside and stopped to listen. The touch of dust tickled his nose as the the feeling to sneeze didn't materialize. Relaxing that there was no one here or awake he started to close the window, pausing as he stared at the shadows, cat eyes widening to normal size pupils as he stared at the shadows. Making a soft Mrr noise once he carefully closed the window and jammed a piece of thin wood ,that seemed to have come from a chair, to prop the window closed. Sitting down he took a deep breath feeling everything that had happen today crash into him, he needed to go back through and fi- zzzz ----- Next day Ree awoke with a start as someone coughed loudly from downstairs. Eyes widen as he held still and looked around wildly as he tried to register what it was that woke him and where he was. Grimacing as both the memory of the events that happened yesterday and the cat's claws as he dug slightly into his knee woke him up faster than a cup of coffee. Vina...damn it! He was going to go look for her not fall asleep. The cat looked at him accusingly as it stretched and moved to a glittering motes of light and rubbed affectionately against it before moving back. Ree winced but kept looking down as the cat's color moved between white and black again. With luck she would be out if that area...at least he could tell himself that. Frowning he pulled out the necklace vina had given him, the smokey yellow orange Crystal that was held up by a black cord. Staring at it only brought the feeling of guilt and a flicker of anger. Silently he put it up and put it under his clothes near the cord holding his blue crystal. "Let's go " he muttered quietly to the cat as it jumped back on his shoulder. Taking the backpack off his back, one specifically modified for winged species, he pulled out a pop tart and slowly opened the package to make the least noise possible until he got it out. Eating it he observed the people and things outside, no masked people but also everyone seemed to be quite calm as if nothing happened at all yesterday or that some "dangerous" magi was out and about. Or it could just be this area, still seemed odd....or not if Vina's scared look was anything to go by. Human had won the Great War ..had won the battle for the true race city and enslaved its inhabitants. Assuming that was all true... piled with the look of glee from that man yesterday... even if they had powers they were still out numbered in a direct face approach. A slight digging of its claws made Ree lift his head up and tilts his head toward the cat, glancing toward where the motes of lights were. " Morning " he said sadly and turned away, wings drooping as he tried not to remember the tree and instead sight teleported to another roof, then another until he reached the relative area where he landed and took wing to see what problems if any he might have as he tried to head back to the main land. ((Sight teleport 8 left ))

After approaching the area where he initially landed, the area was still relatively void of people, there were a few but they hadn't really paid mind to discover him moving.
From where he stood, he could still see the mainland from that distance, just barely, it looked just a bit further than yesterday but appeared that he could cross the gap if he had wanted to.
Looking back into the city, he could catch a glimpse of Vina walking into the general store that he had seen the Fallen come out of yesterday. She was alone, there were no burn marks on her, and she was wearing a thick metallic collar around her throat. Although it was just a glimpse, it was definitely the same girl with black hair and gold eyes.
Out of the corner of Ree's eye, he could have sworn he saw a small child with stitches over her face looking at him from behind the edge of the building, but any attempt to see who it was caused only a flitter of movement but no one seemed to be there. More notably, he hadn't felt anything from that direction so it was possible that it was his tired mind playing tricks on him.

Ree landed and looked toward the mainland, which looked farther than it had originall flew over yesterday, was day one literally nearly hitting the mainland itself? With a sigh he glanced back to make sure no one was coming up behind him when he spotted her. Vina? It almost look liked her but he wasn't sure..black hair, gold eyes, but no burns and collar....collarcollarcollar. A light shiver ran through him as he watched her go inside. Burns could he healed by a healer in time and if she was caught that might explain the lack of alarm but ....can't be. No one would collar someone then just let them go wandering the neck day. A flicker of movement at the corner of his eyes made his turn his face sharply as he missed it but the cat tracked the soul of a small child with its eyes as it made its way around the building. Ree narrowed his eyes slightly but stayed where he was, turning to look back at the general store with increasing paranoia as his feathers fluffed up slightly. He'll wait for her to come out and confirm or not...and that is where the "owners" of the fallen to helped him were..they would likely not be happy to see him again nor her.

It was some time that Vina was in the general store for whatever reason. In that time, a female woman was approaching the store that Ree recognized as one of the three humans from yesterday. She curly black hair with a nice bow in it and wore a very nice dress that obviously distinguished her as someone of high ranking or with money. She barely made it to the general store as Vina exited the building with a large paper bag in her hands, stopping to look at the woman who was fuming in her anger. "What's taking so long?" she hissed at the golden-eyed woman. "I had trouble finding some of the items." she retorted bluntly, looking none too pleased that someone had come to retrieve her. "You've been to this store dozens of times and you had trou-... Are you mocking me, Vina?!" the woman took a step forward with fury in her eyes as she drew back her hand to hit her. Vina didn't even flinch as she narrowed her eyes slightly, ready for the sting of her palm but it never came. The woman had reluctantly put her arm down, gritting you teeth. "Lady Carmella will hear of this... You have yet to be fully disciplined for yesterday's actions. It's a wonder she let you out to even do this simple task... a simple task that you still have difficulty doing." she spoke coldly and turned on her heel to walk away. "Let's go, or I'll tell her they caught you stealing as well and I had to come take you back." she threatened, not even bothering to look back as she walked back the way she had come.
Vina stood there for a moment, gripping the bag a little tighter like she was trying to control some barely contained anger, her head lowered as she clenched her teeth and took in a deep breath, eyes intense before she exhaled and her eyes dulled back slightly and she turned to leave as well to follow the other woman.
As for the soul of the child, it remained close as it seemed like maybe it was watching what Ree would do, not moving as it stood out of view.

Ree looked after the women, his eyes hooded slightly as he recognized her and watched the interaction without any movement forward not even when she moved to hit Vina. So it was Vina, she "survived" but if she was owned ..and escaped, no they burned magi why would they have one as a slave? There was descrpency here but what part was the lie. Waiting until the first women left he walked up to Vina as she turned to follow. " I thought they burned magi" he said in a whisper then sighed. " A choice then. Stay or leave....prepare in 25 days and come back" His voice quiet as he looked after the other women ready to move off to the side. The cat became smaller almost kitten size as it tried to hide partially under his hair.

Vina hesitated, her eyes widening slightly as she turned her head quickly to look at him, but was quiet about it. She looked at him, blinking slightly in surprise and confusion then glanced back to the woman who was leaving. Turning her attention back to Ree, she tried to speak quickly. "You better be careful saying things like that around here, first off. Second, I can't leave with this thing on my neck, the moment it leaves the island, it incapacitates who's wearing it... Trust me, it's not pleasant." she kept her voice hushed as she spoke. "Third..." she hesitated, trying to pick her question carefully. She narrowed her eyes at him, "...What are you..." she half-demanded, knowing something was off about Ree to her.midnightspirit Please roll a D20 in your response.

There was a flicker of suprise on his face as she asked him what he was but brushed it to the side. He was sure she had guessed since she didn't ask about any of it before. Then again she was in pain and that didn't leave ones mind for clear thinking. He wish he knew was he was doing too other than grasping at a few strings of hope. Wanting to help her leave after yesterday's incident and now, seeing her a slave. " I think I can take it off. If I do, what is your response? And if you want to risk it" He said quietly, a little dully.

He didn't even answer the question which made her worried but she kept a stern look as she watched him carefully. Her mind was racing, she had so many questions, and even his uncertainty in being able to help her was suspicious and alarming at best.
"Hey! Get away from her!" the woman called out, beginning to walk back in a huff, locking eyes on Ree then hesitated. "You again... G-guards! Someone! Help!" she called out loudly, trying to garner attention as men were beginning to make their way to the scene.
Vina whipped herself back to look at the woman, eyes widening in horror. s**t s**t s**t. She looked to Ree suddenly and dropped the bag in her hands. "Take it off, take it off now! My answer is to leave!" she spoke sharply as there was no time to think, panic setting in with everything she knew was about to happen.
It wasn't long before they were surrounded by guards and other men alike, weapons in hand: swords, pitchforks, flint rifles, and large pieces of wood. Even a few had just picked up sizeable rocks, ready to set in on their attack. Three men guarded the woman who had shouted for help, all three armed with rifles in case they tried to attack her. "Vina, step away from him now." they instructed with authority, waiting.
Vina had put her hands up and was hesitant but kept narrowed eyes. She didn't know what Ree would do, but she would wait a second or two longer if he really was going to try in front of all these people to get her off the island.midnightspirit Please roll a D20 in your response.

Ree snapped up a teleketic shield around them both as the guards rushed in, surrounding them as they grabbed anything...literally anything to attack him with. They were scared, the was the only thing that came to mind at the speed in which they reacted and the ingenuity, they were ready to protect the other woman, likely some relative of Caramel, but rocks ..literally rocks. Flint rifles, armaments nothing compared tech wise to the mainland. Had they not been in danger he might have laughed but now he was slowly calculating what to do. Acting like he was just talking to her was out after that shout. Damn it really.... Looking at the other women he watched her apathetically as he raised his hand slowly and rested it on Vina's back reaching for her collar. He took a breath as if he was about to say something and sight teleported with the collar to the roof of the building behind the women, leaning on the fact the rifle users would be to disoriented by that to give him some time. He turned and looked back at vina silently and attempted to shoot her straight up into the air with telekinisis as he took wing flying just up.

Vina took a slow but shaky breath as he rested a hand on her back, staying still as she hoped whatever he did worked and that this wouldn't end in both their deaths. "Vina... Step. Away. Now!" the same man now demanded, getting angry at her insubordination.
Suddenly she felt the disappearance of the collar, her eyes narrowed in anger and she gave a slight grin. Immediately, the villagers were stepping back from her. She then focused on the flint guns as the gunpowder in the guns exploded suddenly, a few of the men knocked back or injured by the sudden explosions. Vina glanced around quickly, knowing she was alone as the others threw rocks and the remaining tried to attack but couldn't get past the barrier. An exhale of relief before her anger started back in again. She waved a hand and a wall of fire erupted from the ground around her and she was suddenly launched into the air without knowing exactly why but she had a good idea. Spotting Ree taking flight, she put two and two together and looked back to the woman who had threatened her, Vina's eyes narrowed and the bottom of the woman's dress caught fire suddenly. That would be enough distraction to get them out she figured.
Focusing back on Ree, she reached out a hand to him. "That will distract them but not for long. We have to leave now!" she instructed, making a point to portray her sense of urgency about the matter.

" What now? I thought we were staying for biscuits and tea. Take a stroll around the park, maybe visit th ducks" he said automatically with a hint of sarcasm and relief as he reached out for her, grabbing her arm as she fell before turning to fly toward the ocean. A quick glance down below showed him the mess she caused as things exploded and fire expanded away from where Vina has been....fire. Adrenaline was pumping through him as he just flew using telekinisis to try and speed up their flight as he tried to pull her up into his arms. He wanted to ask her about the fire, why she was burned yesterday and not now. lies whispered through his mind as the cat gave a low growl softly near his ear. Neither thought it prudent that he asked her now as they flew over the water on easily flammable wings.
