"It's been, like, months," Vesna said. "He's old to guardianship by now." She propped her elbow on the table and rested her chin on it somewhat discontentedly. "I guess he does a lot of stuff for me, but he does a lot of stuff for everybody. How am I supposed to feel special that way?"
"Well, for starters," Nicolina interrupted, "I don't take all his clients out for tea."
Vesna realized who she was with and bit her lip sheepishly. "O-of course I'm glad to have a grandma and a grandpa and all!" she stammered. "I guess it's just boring to live with someone who's always so busy."
Nicolina laughed. "Lorenzo had the same complaints when he was growing up. All necromancers have to choose between their clients of their families sometimes- but we still try our best, I promise." Turning to Ethiriel, she elaborated, "As for our profession, I'm not too surprised that you haven't heard of it. Even amongst the magical community, we're a small field. Not to mention, there's a bit of social stigma involved in raising the dead, as you can imagine, so necromancers tend to err on the side of discretion. There is actually a bit of overlap with the medical field though. I know a few specialized necromancers who have worked with hospitals and morgues and such around Gaia. I met Vesna's grandfather while I was doing internship hours with the Barton Guard as a girl, myself." She took a sip of her tea, clarifying: "We did meet in a morgue, but he was alive back then. And a fairly dashing figure, if I say so myself."
Vesna tried to imagine her looming undead grandfather as a dashing young man, but the mind boggled. She was grateful to move back to a different topic as Ethiriel explained the situation she grew in. "Missing friend..." she said, clearly missing the most important part of Ethiriel's sentence herself, "I see..." Eden popped into her mind immediately, but she certainly didn't want Eden to go missing. Furthermore, Eden seemed cooler and more grown up than she was, so she doubted she could find Eden better than Eden could find herself. And despite being blind, Ethiriel seemed to have gotten to the tea shop without even having a grandma to lead the way, so she also seemed to be more on top of things than Vesna was. Tuning briefly back in, she decided, "Well, so long as I don't have to wait until I'm mature, I guess! I just hope that I grow for a cool reason."
Nicolina cleared her throat.
"Oh, and I'm glad you found your friend!" Vesna amended. "Thanks for telling me all that stuff."
Appeased, Nicolina said, "Do you come here often, Ethiriel? You've been very kind to humor Vesna and me today."

There was a brief pause before Ethiriel gave a soft laugh, smiling towards Vesna. It was clear that she was younger, even without her having mentioned it herself, and it definitely endeared the Sigel to her. "Fret not. Your time will surely come, and you will grow magnificently. Even if it is not a 'cool' reason, I promise you that it will be a special moment to you, regardless." The same smile met her sightless eyes. "I know it is hard to wait, but it will happen."
The silvery Raevan turned to Nicolina and offered the same smile, barely skipping a beat between the two conversations. "It seems as if it would be a very wanted profession amongst loved ones. I can imagine that Necromancers would receive plenty of business during... unfortunate circumstances."
"I come as often as I am able so long as it is within a time frame. We are lucky to have met today, actually. It has been a while since I have stopped in, myself. May I pose you the same question?"
