BASICS

APPEARANCE
Short (4' 9") and athletic (she used to swim competitively and has taken up kickboxing since getting out of school), she has no curves to speak of and doesn't care. She likes to change her hair every so often but currently has a pale blonde pageboy cut. Other than her hair, she has fairly typical East Asian features (her parents are both Chinese immigrants).

She calls her style "comfy b***h" and tends to dress in darker colors (and by darker colors she pretty much means black, maybe grey or white if she's feeling particularly bright one day). Dark pants, combat boots, a plain t-shirt, and a statement jacket are her usual get up when she's working indoors. Accessories, other than a watch, are a hassle and the only thing they're good for is getting in the way so she forgoes them. On the weekends, you can find her slouching around in joggers or t-shirt dresses.

She has two sets of field clothes that she only ever wears if she doing field work. Both consist of long khakis, a white t-shirt, and a white long-sleeve button up. She likes arthropods (she has to considering her job) but that doesn't mean she's looking to get Lyme disease.

She has a full-back tattoo that wraps around the front of her shoulders that shows the life cycle of the Narrow-bordered Bee Hawk-moth as well as Devil's-Bit and Field Scabious.

PERSONALITY
[+] Flexible: She doesn't mind a good plan, but she won't let simple set backs put her out of sorts. She goes with the flow and if the flow wants to batter her against a wall, she takes it and then shrugs it off. There's no need to sweat the little things.
[+] Reliable: She always gets the job done, even if she's got to suffer for it. It's not that she enjoys suffering, but she takes pride in being someone that you turn to (for things that need to get done, not for your emotional problems). This applies in and out of her work. She's not a b***h with a heart of gold, but you can bring your issues to her. She'll enjoy knowing that she solved something in your life that you couldn't.
[+] Passionate: The things (and yes, just things, not people, unless you're her parents, grandma, and closest cousin) she cares about, she cares a lot about. Mostly that's insects, art, and paper making, but in the limited sphere of things that capture her attention, she is willing to put in the time and effort to preserve and share those things. It's why she became a science illustrator; not enough people appreciate insects the way she hopes they will if she can capture their beauty and form.
[-] Pretentious: She believes that she's above most people and willing to let them know that she thinks that. She treats most people with disdain, belittling their tastes or opinions. The only thing she won't belittle is someone's profession (so long as the person seems passionate about it).
[-] Manipulative: She doesn't really think of what she's doing as manipulation, or even thinks much about the act itself at all. She simply tends to sees most people as a means to an end; in that way, some people have utility and others don't. She's not looking to exploit people so much as she sees that some people have things they can give her that she's more than willing to take.
[-] Prickly: She doesn't start conflicts, but she also doesn't go out of her way to avoid them. She knows that she tends to rub people the wrong way and refuses to change her mannerisms or habits. Luckily, she's fairly reclusive, if not she'd probably end up in more fights.

DEITY
Insects (and more generally all animals and their habitats) are one of the few things that Erica genuinely cares about. Her passion for science illustration comes from a desire to get people to care about insects as well and to work for their preservation. Her occupation and life's work makes her natural fit for Artemis.

APPEARANCE
Mercy is 5'6 and shaped like this with about a high B-cup in terms of a bust. The skin tone that is being used in the picture is true to Mercy's skin tone as well. Her hair is naturally curly with golden highlights, to which she wears au natural as much as possible. The face of the woman in the second picture is also Mercy's face claim. She also has one tattoo that runs along her left side [ it glows under black light too...Nifty when you're in the clubs yo~ ] she is also a HUGE Borderlands fan. Her favorite character [if you haven't guessed from the tattoo] is Maya. May or May not be a Krieg/Maya shipper cause who wouldnt want to be the conductor of the pooptrain?

Clothing style is a mixture of urban and whatever she feels like wearing for the day. Leggings are usually a part of her attire because of sheer laziness most of the time.

PERSONALITY

• Social
  No need to be shy! Mercy loves people! She’ll chat with even some of the quietest people on her block, often holding conversations with herself, but that’s beside the point. Being social comes with its advantages and disadvantages, like how she was able to do many speeches in high school without sweating a single bullet, or how she talked so much, she got into a fist fight with the person she was friends with at the time. She won of course since you know; she is the QUEEN of pulling out a b***h’s trax.
  
  
• Spicy AKA Hot Tempered
  With great temper comes a greater reaction? Needless to say, once Mercy has been set off, run for the hills. Her temper is just as quick as her tongue, which has led to many fights in her EARLY teen years. This temper of hers does cause her to go in fist first, rationalizing last, in which she’d rather setting everything with her fists and/or sharp tongue before seriously thinking about the situation at hand like a true adult. Does she feel remorse after? Depends on the situation; if you deserved it, then she’d rather add some pepper spray before apologizing. If it was a misunderstanding, she’ll happily apologize while offering to buy you ice-cream or lunch. This does drive most people away because c’mon, NO ONE wants to deal with a loose cannon.
  
  
• Organized
  When it comes to making sure everything is in order, Mercy makes sure to go above and beyond the norm. The more organized things are, the better off she’ll feel. She’s not OCD per se, but being able to find your underwear in the same spot you left it is a nice perk. Mercy also brings her organization to her dorm where she makes sure her bed is nice and neat as well as her shoes are all lined up for easier finding.
  
  
• Vindictive
  Once Mercy is pissed, she tends to want to hurt in order to pay you back tenfold for setting her off in the first place, a trait she picked up from her mom. Whenever you harm people she cares about emotionally, physically, or otherwise, Mercy’s coming to get you and she’s going to let you know so you can be scared shitless. Once again, her temper prevents her from acting rationally so when she does get revenge, it’s rather painful and swift and totally without reason.
  
  
• Giving
  Mercy may have been an only child, but she learned at an early age that sharing was caring, and giving was ten steps better. You’ll find Mercy often giving part of her sub to one of the homeless or covering someone whenever she went out to eat and they couldn’t cover part of the bill. Sometimes people do take advantage of Mercy’s giving nature to which they will receive a fist to the face and a string of curse words in Spanish. She does NOT take well to being taken advantage of.
  
  
• Stupidly Brave AKA Brash
  Mercy likes to go gung-ho into battle so to speak. When the moment calls she answers without question, often never thinking about the consequences of her actions or for her safety on that matter. [ Terrible killer is terrible ]
  
  
• Confident
  Mercy is a woman that just radiates confidence. It’s her armor, her saving grace, as well as her best friend. When Mercy was younger, her mother tried everything in her power to break her down, make her feel like she was nothing. It was her father that told her no matter what her mother says, she needed to walk with her head held high and confidence in her step. She wasn’t fat, she was voluptuous. Her face wasn’t ugly or spotty; in fact, she was the best mix of both parents from her caramel skin to her wild yet tame-able hair. It was because of her father that Mercy is the woman she is today. Sometimes, her confidence can be a bit intimidating to someone who lacks this trait because she can come off as arrogant, or vain.
  
  
• Lack of Tact AKA INSENSITIVE
  Do these pants make your a** look flabby? The proper answer would be no, no they don't! You look fine. But for Mercy, the answer is yes, yes they do brah...You should probably grab a different size. Mercy is brutally honest to the point of being downright insulting, which is why this is a more negative than a neutral trait.

DEITY
Mercy drew Ares's attention because of her choosen profession, and curiousity over how she could be an assassin with such spicy temper and personality. She can also knock a grown man straight on his a** while wearing heels...

APPEARANCE

John is almost as average as his name, not a body builder by any rate but not husky either. He looks in shape but probably would be hard pressed to do anything ‘super physical’ – most of his exercise comes from moving heavy boxes, and stairs.
Favoring darker clothing with occasional bolder patterns He shops thrift stores when the choice is his own, or when family is present then out come the dreaded polo shirts. He’d much rather wear a button down shirt over a comfortable t-shirt.
His hair is Longer, though it’s pulled back out if his face in a ponytail, a look he opted for because someone back in High school told him it would look good on him, after that it’s become a habit more than a conscious choice, his art is less for his clothing (save for coordinating colors and choosing patterns he finds astatically appealing) and more for his papers and tablet.
He wears a great deal of bracelets when he can, Lokai being the current trendy choice.
Just girly enough with his long hair and leaning towards slender frame that he’s been mistaken for a girl in passing a few times.



PERSONALITY

In High school and College John was better than average for grades, but fundamentally forgettable in all other regards. While he made Deans list several times, and graduated ‘c** Laude” its not likely that he made much of a lasting impression. He didn’t drink before his time, or smoke anything more interesting than Clove Cigarettes, his parents, while they wholly embraced the American Culture – still emphasized that Study and grades came first.

This push towards academics and his own preference for fantasy worlds unleashed on paper and in his computer led him to have fairly minimal contact with people outside his classes. Not that he was rude; he’s just generally too quiet and withdrawn to have ever thought about pushing

Himself out to make more friends.

When he does make friends though his manners go from withdrawn and guarded to honestly animated, sometimes snarky or sarcastic, but always with an edge of apology because he’s just not that good at letting himself be open.



DEITY
John is Chosen of Dionysus – he is at his core a free spirit, a dreamer and while he finds it hard to express it without people he trusts, he can be quite animated and open, passionate about the arts. It can’t hurt that he does enjoy a good Drink with good company even if his art turns out something less than stellar after a few are under his belt.

APPEARANCE
Tall and lanky, with copper-colored skin and olive eyes. Prominent cheekbones, big lips and a thin, straight nose, with wavy hair that's often bleached into a pretty pastel color. He wears make-up on a daily basis, although he keeps to a natural palette - the kind of stuff that dudebros call "no makeup" (wink, wink). FC is Stromae with longer hair. If his roots show, they should be a dark brown. He dresses expensively, and is never without a custom-tailored blazer (check out anything Daveed Diggs has ever worn to a formal event, lol - x x x x) offset by luxurious florals - douchey shorts or a silk shirt, perhaps, but not both. Maybe an obnoxiously-branded designer hat (a luxury baseball cap or a boat hat, perhaps), or sunglasses pushed into his hair. Definitely accessorizes, a lot - manly leather bracelets, a matchy watch, cute cufflinks, etc. Very dapper rich bro. Patterns are a must somewhere, but he's also fond of color blocking. Some might claim that he dresses a little young, but he's of the firm belief that he's in the prime of his life. Suck it, everyone else!

PERSONALITY
Even though he was born into, well, a very wealthy family, Ernst has always grown up knowing he'd have to fight for the things he wanted. The green-eyed black boy, he's never quite fit in anywhere except his university's Mixed Student Union, and, well, even that wasn't very prestigious, was it? Instead he's taken it upon himself to stand out, and to do it damned well. He always excelled in school: not because he has any particular passion for math or science (what a snore) but because he wanted to be better than everyone else. He ran a tight ship as the president of his high school filmmaking club and then in his theatre department in university, and as he racked up awards, he discovered that he liked being behind the wheel even better than critiquing camera angles from others' artsy films. Here, he had unquestionable control, and his vision reigned supreme. Everyone looked at him, but not because he was strange: it was because he had real power. And Ernst was sure as hell gonna use it.

Despite his liberal political leanings, Ernst is unafraid to flaunt and use his wealth. Sure, he donates to charity - and he does donate with heart, rather than as a way to avoid higher tax brackets - but if he has it, there's no sense letting it waste away in some vault. He buys expensive branded clothing and fancy wine, although he's always sure to support locally-sourced goods, as well (gotta get your name out there, right? Ernst knows the grind intimately.) He's a patron of all sorts of arts, and loves anything and everything that's beautiful and flamboyant: just like him, really. His famed hedonism and eye for talent mean his parties are excellent for both making connections and for being fun.

But he's also conscious of the social messages that art can send, in large part because he has an almost stupid amount of optimism about the power of art. Art changes people, he thinks: it can make them cry, or decide to change careers, or create entirely new paths. The movies he makes - and an executive producer has a lot more creative control than many people think - are always conscious of that. He aims to create a new Nichelle Nichols, or just to change the way that people think. Hopefully for the better. That's his guiding philosophy, really - he's gotta make it easier for others to succeed, especially in the light of today's continued tragedies.

Maybe some would call him naive, or stupid, for it. But hey, Ernst says - he's been pretty successful so far. It's probably true that his brashness (he often speaks before he thinks, and is strangely proud of it), arrogance, and inability to keep commitments (art is his most important partner, he claims - everything else? Sorry, he kind of forgot. He has a vision.) will ******** him over someday. Until then, he's young, charismatic, and rich. Surely that'll get you to pass over some of his mistakes. Right?

DEITY
Ernst's joie de vivre, devil-may-care attitude, and prioritization of meaningful art above all else made him stand out to Dionysus. Ernst would probably die for his art someday, and maybe that makes him a wasteful choice. But he's going to live passionately, and that's really what matters, right?

APPEARANCE
Brian falls in at six-foot-two and is of muscular build considering his career paths. His skin is an average Caucasian tone and his hair, always buzzed short and with faded sides in a common police cut, is somewhere between dark blonde and mouse brown. He has high cheekbones and a sturdy jaw structure cutting an average-handsome face and a pair of dark grey eyes. Considering his lack of vanity, his usual outfits consist of t-shirts and cargo pants, and the occasional polo when out of uniform.

PERSONALITY
Emotions are a bit of a struggle with this particular young man. He feels the same as anyone else (or at least those close to him would insist as such) but has difficulty expressing them. Although he is a passionate man, his time in the army and then as a police officer meant training used to suppress normal human emotions like fear, panic, and sorrow. Unfortunately this seems to have carried on into the rest of Brian’s social repertoire, making him appear distant at best and wholly uninterested at worst. Those who see his compassion are generally victims and children, and beyond that only those who can break below the surface.

That aside, loyalty and bravery strike hard. It doesn’t matter if you are a close friend or a mere acquaintance; “protect and serve” applies to everyone. If you show Brain respect, he is going to return the favor deemed appropriate for the moment. In the future, however, respectful folk might find themselves under extra protection regardless of their initial meeting. Brian doesn’t like to concede to it, but he does grow attached to people fairly easily. This all of course circles back to them not wanting to know it, and trying to avoid getting hurt himself.

People in need may see him approaching them first, but at the very least the officer can offer a smile and a nod to even strangers. He meshes with groups easily and enjoys leadership positions, which gives him a sense of pride. Otherwise one may find themselves having to take over the initial approach.

DEITY
Zeus has blessed Brian and chosen him for recruitment. The officer lacks the particular air of violence and unstable temperament of a Chosen of Ares, but has still served in the military and now serves the community. He is law-abiding but understanding, proud, and a born leader.

You can tell at first glance that Catherine is of European descent- standing at 5’9” with blonde hair, storm grey eyes, and a strong jawline [x]. While not particularly toned, she likes to keep fit and maintains her hourglass figure with bike rides, walking with friends, yoga, and archery. Her clothing is typically modest, but compliments her figure and simple taste, with fitted tops and flared skirts in solid colors or large prints [x]. While her style can consistently be seen as simple and practical- but stylish- with vintage, feminine touches like lace, bows, and skirts, her tastes change with the season: preferring pastels and floral prints in the spring [x], warm pops of color in the summer balanced by neutrals [x], autumn enters her wardrobe with warm jewel tones complimented by rich browns [x], and there’s no better season for wearing comfy sweaters, leggings, and boots than winter [x]. Cat typically keeps her long blonde hair at least half-back in some braided style [x], playing with different styles and textures on a daily basis. Her accessories usually follow a natural theme and she’s always had a fondness for owls, so she is usually wearing a necklace, brooch, earrings, or even purse that pays homage to Athena [x]. Although she typically doesn’t wear much makeup beyond a tinted lip gloss, she’s careful of her fair skin, using makeup that already has an spf factor (or applying sunscreen if she plans on being out for the day) and uses products for sensitive skin. She smiles easily and laughs often, lending her appearance to an open and friendly disposition.

PERSONALITY

Intelligent - Catherine loves stimulating conversation and brain puzzles about as much as anything. She needs to keep her mind constantly busy and was lucky enough to find herself naturally talented to many disciplines at a young age, starting with honor classes in elementary school, progressing to college appropriate work in high school, and graduating summa c** laude with a Bachelors of Science in Child Development from a well-known university. So whether it’s a morning sudoku with tea, playing a word game on her phone to pass the time, or researching the latest pedagogy, her mind is always on the go.

Creative - Part of Cat’s busily racing mind is usually occupied by a creative hobby, from paper crafts to fine arts to writing. She’s acquired quite the cache of art supplies over the years, having a fully-stocked craft room/studio at her home away from the Prytaneum. You can typically find her doing some kind of creative work in her free time, whether that’s as simple as doodling in one of her many sketchbooks to spending hours on a plein air watercolor landscape. She’ll usually have graphite smudged along the side of her right hand from extensive writing and drawing, or trying to keep up with finger exercises from typing up a storm in preparation for her bi-weekly gaming group. One of her many quirks is singing at random through the day- probably brought on from years in choir- so she may be singing about the task currently at hand, or just humming along to the tune that’s been stuck in her head since morning.

Outgoing - Cat is one who easily makes friends, trying to put her best foot forward with every first impression and always eager to start a conversation. She’s always been someone who enjoys talking to others and, although she’s only kept a few deep and lasting friendships, she can usually find something to find in common with the people she meets - leading to many fast and fun friendships. While not the most for partying- she rarely ever drinks- she’s usually up for a new adventure and loves bringing people to her favorite places or involving them in her favorite activities, so inevitably you will be invited to tea.

Particular - Catherine is a major stickler for organization and a finicky eater, she likes things just so, and that’s just the way it is. Part of her craft-y nature lead to an early obsession with stationary, so among her collection of supplies is a swathe of pens, mechanical pencils, and highlighters for color-coding along with day-planners and coordinated to-do lists. There’s a trove of beautiful and unused journals hidden in her house that she just hasn’t found the right purpose for, and she’s someone who wants a separate notebook or journal for every subject or task. When it comes to food she’s regrettably picky, having to ask for substitutions or parts of an order to be held because she’s not particular to a certain spice used in the dish- triggers being mustard, dill, and any food that hits an extreme: sweet, spicy, sour, or salty.

Headstrong - Being strong-willed part of Cat’s being, she can’t recall a time where she was ever unsure of who she was or what she wanted out of life. To that end, she’s been fairly independent and will stick to her guns once she’s made a choice or formed an opinion. She can be rather obstinate in an argument where she thinks she has the superior knowledge and can come off as dismissive towards other’s opinions, especially when they don’t have well-reasoned support for their thoughts. She can argue a point to death and will only begrudgingly admit that she was in the wrong when someone brings up evidence that overwhelms her own point.

Distracted - Having a busy mind is usually a gift, but can lend itself easily to distraction. So while she has a lot of book smarts, Cat relies heavily on her paper and digital organizers to remember the details of her plans for the next month, week, day, and even hour. Many creative endeavors will end up half-finished because she becomes obsessed with a new idea, if it weren’t for deadlines in her professional life and parents keeping her accountable, she would rarely finish any task she started if it took more than a single span of hours. And although she loves spending time with people and conversing with others, her mind can wander away to that next project she wants to start, or the engagement she has the next day, leading to the other party feeling as though she’s ignoring them. She’s rather conscious of this shortcoming though, and tries to combat this tendency through active listening techniques.

Catherine is Chosen of Athena for her love and eternal pursuit of knowledge. She has an affinity for many areas of study including literature, crafts, and science along with the intense desire to pass her own love for learning on to every pupil she teaches and every person she meets.

APPEARANCE

• Height: 5’9”
  
• Build: Thin, willowy, lean, very little in curves and with some show of toned muscle (enough to slug her weight around but not too much to look like a body builder).
  
• Skin: Natural tan skin from being out in the sun too much on her free time. Has a few tattoos most tho hidden under her clothes.
  
• Hair: Real color unknown from most, typically dyed in various colors depending on the mood. Best guess is that it was naturally light blonde. Cut usually in a really long wavy mohawk fashion.
  
• Face and Eyes: Eyes almost golden yellow in color, with flecks of brown and orange. Dark black eyeliner, dark eyeshadow, with dark lipstick.
  
• Style: Rather punkish, typically wearing tight jeans, leggings, hand-me-downs with slightly loose shirts/tanks (some are ratty look like hand-me-downs from her brothers) with a jacket (preferably leather with some fur lining at the top or something probably the nicest thing she has) and scarves. She likes neutrals with some pops of bright color or flashy spiked metal to accent it with (she is a fan of anything metal). Various piercing line her ears with other pieces of jewelry scattered all over. Some sort of boot with not too much heel is her shoe of choice.

Kinley is 5’9”, thin willow woman with very few if not no curves and belongs to the itty bitty titty club. Not that she would ever complain, makes dressing herself easier in the long run and she can pretty much gets by wearing whatever she thinks is on edge and comfortable. Tends to stand rather tall, imposing if she can get away with it, and doesn’t seem to have an issue with calling attention to herself especially considering her whisper is more of a shout when given. PERSONALITY
[+] Determined - Kinley never backs down, and doesn’t give up on something for as long as she can. She tends to be a hard working and is always trying takes pride in figuring any sort of problem that she encounters no matter what it is. It’s harder to admit if she was wrong or to give up on something than it is for her to spend countless hours trying to solve or prove something right.
[+] Loyal - If you can get pass the tough exterior and the loud bluntness Kinley is rather loyal friend and camaraderie to those she considers her friends or family. If they need her help she is there, she will drop everything and not ask too many question and most of all stand up for them if they are being knocked down. However, if you do anything to break her trust, backstab her, abandon her in anyway then avoid her and her temper at all cost.
[-] Prickley - Kinley is not the warmest person to meet, she is easily blunt, gruff, to the point, sarcastic and tends to say more curse words in a conversation than needed. She doesn’t really like people getting into her business and she doesn’t like getting into others unless she considers them a good enough friend, is concerned about them and feels that she should at least attempt to do something (even then she isn’t all that great at it but she will at least attempt it).
[-] Fiery - Kinley mouth and actions tend to react first and think about the consequences and forgiveness afterwards. She has a hot temper and easily lashes out towards anything that offends her in some way and has no problem picking a fight with anyone. Typically she can be found sticking her foot in her mouth on too many occasion and grudgingly will say she is sorry if she finds it was really her fault.

Hephaestus.
Kinley is an engineer and mechanic, she loves being able to figure out problems with something is broken and or something that needs a new part entirely. She takes great pride in fixing or even creating something better or new and her lifelong goal is to invent better safety features in vehicles. Her goals make her a natural fit for Hephaestus.
