"Oh. Okay I can try talking to him and then get back to you?"
She pulled out one of her planners and scribbled a note then looked back at Shun. "Am ... I bothering you with all this?" It didn't sound sarcastic, but genuinely confused by the forehead rubbing.

"During work hours is not an ideal time to be talking about this. We both have duties to attend to."

"That's why I came during your lunch break." She looked up at the clock and realized while she had come at the end of his lunch break, she was now bleeding into work time.
"Oh! So sorry, I'll come back later. How late do you work today?"

Shun let out a grunt.
"Assuming nothing happens, 7pm."

"Then I'll leave you be." She scribbled another thing down in her book and then closed it, putting it back in her purse and turning tail for the time being.
---
She returned at 6:50pm (always early) and knocked on his doorframe again. Considerably less put together compared to when he last saw her (a lovely couple was insisting their lawn sprinkler was possessed and June had to calm them down. In the back of her mind she had to wonder though. Regardless, it had been an exhausting debate), but still a kind expression on her face.
"Helloooo. How was your shift?"

Shun let out an annoyed sigh, glancing over at the time.
"Not over yet."

June looked at her phone for the time, looked around and then said, "It's ... only ten minutes. I don't think Mercer's going to fire you for it!"
A small nervous laugh followed.

The detective gave June a look, then went back to what he had been working on just before the interruption. It wasn't a matter of whether or not he was going to be fired.
He still had work to do.

June looked at him curiously, opened her mouth to say something, and then thought better of it. Instead she took to a seat of his office, pulling out one of her notebooks to start writing silently. Her eyes were down and she was patiently waiting.

And such, Shun continued to work until he was officially off the clock. Finishing things up, he gathered his things, then started to head on out without a word. He wasn't going to be talking about stuff here.

She watched him pack up and took it as his signal as he was leaving, but wasn't sure why he didn't make any sort of motion towards her. Most people tended to herd her around like the little sheep she was.
So as wordlessly as he did, she put her book in her purse and followed him towards the door, waiting for instruction.

Shun continued to not say a single word as he made his way over to the lockers so that he could change out of his work clothes. He re-emerged a few minutes later donning his leather jacket; a backpack was slung over his shoulder, and a motorcycle helmet was tucked under his arm as well.
It wasn't until he left the building did he actually say anything.
"Again, this is not to be shared," he stated. He wasn't exactly happy that America had blabbed stuff to an extent.

She pulled out her phone while they walked and clicked around Neko Atsume for a while. At least so it would feel like she was doing something rather than awkardly stalking Shun through the office. She obviously didn't follow him into the lockers but instead waited outside and continued clicking on the cats.
The leather jacket was a familiar look, as was the motorcycle helmet. She opened her mouth to say something, but then closed it as he walked away again not even looking her direction.
By the time they made it outside June was a bit flustered by all the cold shoulder business but was too professional to say anything about it.
"I am really good with secrets. I promise!" What should have felt secretive and slightly dramatic was ruined a little by the fact that they were standing outside in a back alley parking lot behind the police station.

Shun didn't make his way to his bike. Instead, they were going to go for a little stroll away from the station.
"I hope I will not be regretting this later. Where do you want me to start?"
He didn't really intend on filling her in on everything. That much was probably not necessary.

"Well ... we talked about the um ... "incident" this morning-" She made finger quotes around the word incident. "-And I talked to Mr. Mercer this afternoon. So mostly I want to start with ..."
She tapped her chin for a moment. "How about things individual to you? Like ... have you visited the rainy town yourself?" She was interested in this magical other world; mostly because she was too naive to know the horrors it was filled with.
