Ichil rolled her eyes hard and shook her head. At least she was smiling. Kiyelt was definitely a character, but she wouldn't have it any other way.
"Well then you'll have to come a few weeks early to get fitted for something," she said, "My father won't deny you entrance on principal, but if you aren't dressed for the occasion we'd be stopped before we got to the door. It's a big noble to-do and all. We have to look good for the other family." They weren't going to like Kiyelt purely for his heritage, but that was just too bad.

"Then I promise not to get it too dirty then, it will be interesting to look civilized for once, like some disguise." He wanted to see her all fancy too, then they could dance and drop all the noble jaws. "I bet we will cut a fine figure, If I do say so myself!" He tucked his thumbs under imaginary fancy clothes, "Just so my Lady, wot." Before he fell over laughing, "I'm sorry, I do really look forward to this in all seriousness." He would show them what he was made out of. Ice and steal and fire.

"Oh, I'm not letting you have them until the day of the wedding," Ichil said, and although she was smiling her voice was deep and serious. She was teasing him, desperately, but she was also telling the truth. No beast master was going to be running around in custom-tailored formal garb before the date itself. "You're crazy. We'll have to be on our best behavior, at least for the first little while."

"Well yes, I'm sure my appearance will be greatly shocking to them, but how much you want to be I won't be the one acting savage, people do not like the unknown and I'm afraid I'm a bit exotic. Despite living in Oba now for years." He waggled his eyebrows at her, "Do I not look exotic?" He crawled his hand over to her and threaded it into her hair. "I would wish that I were Oban but honestly I like having yellow eyes. For it is with these that I saw you as who you are, and I can't help but think that if things had been different that maybe you and I wouldn' have happened, and I won't trade you for all the janarim in the world."

"Of course you do," Ichil said, "and a lot of nobles are old and stuffy and closed-minded. It's not your look that will worry them, it's that someone from somewhere else is infiltrating nobility. It's ridiculous, of course. Besides, my reputation is already one which cannot get much worse." She took a bite of food and watched Kiyelt. Hopefully he wouldn't be offended. He seemed to know how the world worked already, and she did truly love him.
He smiled when he came close and leaned her head against his hand.
"However we worked, my love, is exactly how I like it. I wouldn't trade a moment for any other past."

"We have what you could call nobles in Zena too, except that all icelings think they are noble. Or well the majority of them anyway." He waggled his eyebrows at her, "I'm sure my presence will make you even more notorious." He was teasing too. "My parents prevented me from becoming old and stuffy, so now I'm just old." He hugged her close in a snug. "I look forward to the future." He ate heartily, combined they made a great meal together. "So delicious."

"Well, that pretty much means they are, doesn't it?" Nobility was usually defined by money, and not everyone had the same amount. One day someone said, here, you are nobility, because we say so. Politically were they all noble? Probably not. Nobility meant being related to someone special, but who decided who was special? Was it just luck? It was rarely ever democracy.
"You're just the right age. Mature, but not curmudgeonly. You've got a good few years left in you, and I'm sure I'll help. I'll keep you young, Old Man." She winked and then leaned against his shoulder. It made it a little harder to eat, but not enough to worry. She just had to not spill on him.
"It really is. I think we make a good pair." She finished her food and leaned back up. With her empty bowl she shuffled away and stood, then offered her hand down for his. She didn't do dishes... but for Kiyelt? For Kiyelt she'd do dishes. "Do you want any more?"

"Well yes but will the Oban nobles see it that way?" He asked curiously. His parents were not all that noble but that was probably by choice, they had always been a little different than the rest of them. "I'm glad I'm not past my expirery date Ichil." He teased back poking her gently in the side. He loved it when she leaned on him like that. She was so sweet. She meant so much to him. He didn't even have the words. "I think we make an excellent pair," he wouldn't know what to do if he lost her now. He handed over his bowl. "No, I'm quite full." There wasn't all that much room for food with all the butterflies flopping around in his stomach. They had this beautiful tent all to themselves for the night, and he was looking forward to potentially waking up with her in his arms.

"Oh, no," Ichil said with a smile, "They absolutely won't."
She took Kiyelt's bowl and went about rinsing it as she'd seen their servants do, then returned to his side and, rather than lean on his side, laid down before him and rested her upper back on his lap. She sighed.
"Thank you for cooking with me," she said, and smiled up to the man.

"Thank you for being here." He idly stroked his hand through her hair, reveling in her beauty. He tilted his head for a moment, considering, then he leaned down and kissed her sweetly. "Seriously, I am the luckiest man, my goddess." She was a beautiful, wild creature who like the fierce janarim, let him be around her. He liked it here too. "Not many are as fortunate as I," he rumbled out. She had these great red eyes that seemed to pierce his soul and this lips that were teasing in shape and sweeter then nectar. "My beautiful one." Was he mumbling? Yes he was.

Ichil took the kiss and returned it softly. Her eyes closed. Ah, yes. She thought any woman might like being referred-to as a goddess. It certainly felt nice in the moment. Then Kiyelt began to mumble and her eyes fluttered open. He might be a romantic man, but he was also undoubtedly a bit of a silly one.
"Well, you're the only one for me!" This sentence was punctuated by a sudden shift in weight as Ichil pitched herself forward, hoping to topple her lover though knowing that he outweighed her in muscle by quite a bit!

She caught him off guard and he kind of just melted under her, not expecting an attack from her corner. He landed on his back with her on top. "Hi?" He asked curiously. "Wild creatures usually don't get the better of me." He winked at her. "So you've tamed me, now what are you going to do with me?" Had he actually just said that out loud? What had gotten into him. The answer: her.

"Well I'm a special kind," Ichil teased and pushed herself up to all fours. She hadn't been expecting to take Kiyelt down, not really. Clearly he'd just allowed it.
"Hmm?" she asked then. That was a new sort of question from the lips of her wild man. "Well, that depends. You're somewhat at my mercy, aren't you? So am I sweet, or am I cruel?"

Kiyelt stared at her with molten yellow eyes, "I'm going to say a little bit of both." Very selfom was someone all one thing or another, and Ichil was neither she was fire beautiful, life giving and dangerous. He couldn't take his eyes off her. He held his hands above his head, at her mercy.
