Although Tala had eluded him for now, there were still many deadly demons around. One of them was occupying the Port Island Station, it's leach-like followers blocking the bridge that led from the mainland to the man-made island created by the Kirijo. This Ongyo-Ki was too strong for most people to defeat, and under the cover of darkness it was normally an unconquerable and intelligent master...but tonight, or rather in this eternal night, the moon was constantly hanging above the city, barely visible through the tainted sky and unnatural clouds of this decadent Iwatodai. With the light from the moon, the secret of Ongyo-Ki's illusions was revealed, and Hei had a chance. But in terms of raw power, he was outmatched...

...unless he used _that_, and conquered this threat. It was a risk, but unleashing Shiva was the best way to match the beast with power, though letting it out in this warped environment meant that his power would leak away from Hei without falter for as long as he was summoned, meaning that each time he was used again he would be weaker. The energy might even be delicious bait to demons, attracting others...but it was a risk he had to take. Only he could use the Devil Summoning App in this fashion, but he didn't feel blessed for the limited power...no, his enemies were much more powerful than Ongyo-Ki, and his goal one others couldn't possibly imagine. Compared to that, the strength of a shrinking Shiva was hardly enough to consider overwhelming...in fact, he might need to find a new source soon, or face defeat.

Hei wandered the streets of the city, looking for more signs of powerful demons.

The strength of his demons was growing, and Hei knew that if he continued to gain power from these demonic beasts he would eventually draw the ire of something stronger...but at the same time, facing those who showed some clear inclinations towards battle, that is, demons even stronger and deadlier than their own kind...was the only way for him to draw forth the power he needed. It was a risk reward system, but he wasn't afraid of eliminating the monsters. They were at his doorstep, but with the judgement of heaven he would purge them from hearth and home, and drive them back into the darkness. Evil would not win...it could not. And with that strength in his heart, he faced the next coming storm.

The shrine overlooking the city was the home of several low-powered, simple demons, but the fact that they were trying to seize a place with such a holy presence probably explained why only those with so little power had gathered. Still, it was a stain on a place meant to exemplify the beauty of peace and purity, and so their stench was to be wiped away. Hei felt a very personal stake in this one, and approached with his dagger already drawn. No need for Momunofu this time...he would make sure that the beasts were dead before they ever had a chance to battle in return.

Hei picked up the last of the Macca from the corpses of the demons, now fading away into mist. If he could have purged even their remnant energies, which were tainting the world with their putrid fumes, he would have...but such power was beyond his grasp for now, and so he continued to hunt for the stronger demons, intend on emptying the bowels of hell, no matter what.

Behind him, Hei could hear the approaching of a horde. These were demons attempting to cross the Moonlight Bridge, unaware of it's new guardian...that was a mistake. Hei considered pausing to watch the remnants of his pursuers meet their grizzly fate, but knew better, since Trolls were known for going blind with rage in the midst of battle. Rather than accidentally becoming a target, he would simply trust in Frank for the time being...and the Demons whose skulls were caved in with a club upon his return would remain, a grim reminder of the foolishness of Hell's minions.

A dozen demons were now gathered, ready to fall like wheat beneath the scythe of the reaper of Port Island. It seemed that there were still many demons on the island, and they were equally tempted to spawn here as well, so the bridge was not the only way demons could access this land it seemed. But regardless, the power of the school, the power that Hikari was gathering and congealing into one condensed form, was drawing them near to the land once created by the Kirijo...and so they were baited into the snare, soon to lose their heads to the demon hunter, who sought nothing more than their destruction.
