Aodh released his hold on his side after he used his left arm to open the door. He was definitely being mindful of the stitches. "I think I saw the woman. She was the one on the bullhorn, right? They were doing something to someone." Make-up or something. Who knew. He nudged the door shut and looked over Jaro's direction. "... it was, wasn't it?" Aodhan blinked a couple times before he was smoothing a hand along the side of his face. "I don't even- What if this is an every month thing? Should we be worried?" His attention flicked from Jaro to the dive restaurant that he had been brought to.

"I guess the only way to know is to wait until next month.." Jaro opened the door for Aodh since he was still battered and working around the painful stitches. The diner was typical, linoleum and the smell of coffee constantly, a line of cream pies and cakes behind the counter and solid menu of comfort food. They were motioned to find their own seats, not exactly packed to the brim or anything, and Jaro slid into one of the larger corner booths. It was much too big for 2 but he didn't seem to care, half lounging when he slid into the seat.

Jaro had influenced Aodh somewhat and, not unlike the other man, ended up lounging somewhat as well. Just because he could and because he did not have to be scrunched up anymore. At least he actually had grown finally. Even if he still thought short and scrawny sometimes. "I guess that's all we can do." A menu was dragged across the table to look at. "Were-things," he muttered, "I don't even know how to feel about it besides hurt." Hurt for obvious reasons.

Jaro didn't open his menu, instead folding his work-worn hands over one another and smiling charmingly up at the waitress. "Can I get you boys something to drink?" She smiled back, then to Aodh, thankfully she'd probably seen so many charming strangers that Jaro's glances seemed to go right through her. "Coffee for me. Strong." But the coffee here was always strong, "And water is fine. Actually- Aodh do you know what you want? Cause I'm ready."

"Orange juice and water," Aodh replied, shaking his head a little at Jaro. Those smiles and all that charm. Really, he was terrible. He wasn't really looking over the menu, it was more habit than anything else, and it was closed when Jaro mentioned ordering. "Yeah, I just want the biscuits and gravy special you have?" It was on the menu, he saw it. Biscuits, gravy, sausage, he would be set and die under all the greasy goodness.

"Chef's Burger." Jaro nodded, "Bloody. Fries not cole slaw. Oh and some of that onion ring sauce you guys make?" It was better than ketchup. The waitress scribbled it down and disappeared, coming back moments later with drinks and Jaro's fries with that onion ring sauce which was something like horseradish. "Eat these onion rings, I'm going to wash my hands." Jaro hopped up and winked again for absolutely no reason before heading off down the tiny hall next to the counter.

Aodh just gave Jaro an amused roll of his eyes. Bloody was normal with the other man. He really was a dragon. "You know I'm saving room for the greasy death that's coming my way, right?" He was amused but he reached out to try one of the onion rings and the sauce. The wink had the usual effect of making him pink for no reason. They were good and he was leaning forward slightly to get a second when he noticed a shadow and it was the same young man from Blackfriars. "Aodh?!" Gray eyes turned to find the fashionable college student that he had tried to avoid at the Job Fair. "You got hurt?" By the time Jaro would be walking back, Aodhan had a pained look on his face as he was trying to take his phone back from the other young man. Reaching was a bad, bad idea.

Jaro looked curious, remembering him from Blackfriars but not mentioning it. Too bad there weren't any strategically placed drinks he could jostle. He had clear his throat to get the young man to make room for him to slide into the booth, saying nothing while Aodh and him .... wrapped up whatever was going on. He really just didn't like this guy's face.

"Can I have that back please?" Aodh was holding his arm around his side now, not even focused on Jaro at the moment because he just wanted his phone back. "Just a moment." Fingers were tapping at Aodh's phone. "There. Now you can text me later." The phone was slid back. "You can't lose my number this time, Aodhan." Didn't even say Aodhan's name the right way. It came out Odin. He flashed Aodh what was supposed to be a charming smile but got a small nod in return. "No, I guess not, Rich. Thanks for checking on me." ... and making me pull on my stitches went unsaid but Aodhan just wanted him gone. His eyes glanced back towards Jaro who had a look on his face he couldn't really read. Rich looked like he was about to say something else but his to-go order was called. " Anytime." The other young man even had the gall to wink at Aodh (who did not turn pink at all) and gave Jaro a brief nod of acknowledgement. "I'll talk to you later, alright?" With that he was leaving and Aodh's shoulders slumped a little, his arm still holding around his side.

Jaro's expression was flat, which for him was odd, but he watched Rich's back until he was gone. "I recognize him from the library. Friend of yours?" He could tell Aodh seemed uncomfortable but his own mild annoyance at the other man's presence was really all he could work with at the moment.

Aodh was leaning against the wall of the booth, waiting for the pain to pass. His stomach rolled; nausea hitting him hard. "Lives down the street from me," he replied, reaching for his glass of water. Jaro's expression was- Aodh had no idea what it was. "Has a twin sister. I, uh ..." There was a sigh. "First and last girl I tried dating. Don't know what his deal is, he never paid attention to me before I got back and I don't even like him." The water did not really help.

Jaro realized, when he finally looked at Aodh, that he looked sick and in pain. Thoughts of the interested nieghbor disappeared, and the annoyance seemed to shift to the side. His brow furrowed in that zeroed in concern of his, "You alright?" Just then the waitress appeared with their plates and Jaro leaned back to accomodate them. "Greasy food." He gave a reassuring smile. "A cure all."

"Just pulled at my stitches." Aodh gave Jaro a weak smile, glass of water set down. It was probably time to take something for pain but he was not really comfortable with taking pain medication at all. With the food there, the smells made his stomach roll a bit more. At least the idea of it still seemed like a good idea. His phone was flipped over and ignored in favor of pulling the plate closer. "That's what I think," he agreed.

"Didn't they give you pain pills or something?" Jaro was actually reaching a fork out to steal a bit of Aodh's food without asking. He made an 'mmm' sound before putting the fork aside for his own burger. "When do you get them out?" The burger was picked up, bitten, and judging by the red running down the chewing man's chin it was perfect.

Aodh had a particularly telling shifty-eyed look when Jaro mentioned the pain pills. Which then lead to him trying to hide it behind a sip of orange juice. Not answering. He was entirely too used to Jaro trying out his food. Waiting for that mmm of approval - as that was what he took it for - he was then taking his own bite. The food would probably help and he needed to eat something if he was going to take something. "I go back in a week to have them looked at. Could be two weeks or longer if I don't take it easy." At the sight of bloody Jaro, Aodh was throwing a napkin at his face.
