He let out a loud purr as the senshi inadvertently petted his back, removing some of the excess hair that had been creeping up his spine. "Of course they will. Everyone has their agenda in your world. Everyone climbing over everyone else to get to the top rung of the social ladder."
His eyes lit up suddenly as he heard the Trickster senshi's explanation.
A spare apartment?
Jackpot.
Bob knew he'd have to be mindful of how he watched the senshi open the apartment door... maybe if he slipped the latch on the window without him noticing, it could provide an easy access for return trips to a new retreat. Not to mention storing things - that meant boxes that he could investigate! It practically sounded like a cat version of heaven, if such a thing existed.
Why, Hermes might not be such a stick in the mud after all!

Hermes made a mental note of this; if there were others that would be displeased at his status...well, it wasn't as though he wasn't unused to people vying for his attention - and his dismissal. As Julian, he was a second chair violinist of the DCBB orchestra; an extremely prestigious position, though he thought he was more suited to first chair.
Someday. Someday soon he would be. But people squabbled for that position all the time. He was used to ignoring the bickering, tuning out the hateful, snide comments of people who thought he did not deserve the position in life he had been given.
It was the same concept here. Hermes rounded a corner and came to a stop in front of a small, square building painted some sort of dull, unassuming tan color.
"Here," he said, pushing open the door and stepping inside of a small stairway that led up a few steps. There was a door to the left labeled 2A and a door to the right labeled 2B. Hermes went left to 2A.
"I've only got one neighbor here, I don't recall who he is, but I rarely am ever here as it is."

He noted the tan color of the building, glancing quickly down both sides of the sidewalk to get a mental image of exactly where they were. For memory purposes, of course - after all, can't escape to a remote getaway without being able to retrace his steps.
As they entered the quaint place, his eyes fell first on the door they approached, then over towards the other door the senshi was referencing. "Makes for a nice, quiet home away from home then, huh?"
If it was a simple storage spot for the kid, it probably meant that he didn't come there that often...which was good, for Bob's situation.
Hopping out of the senshi's hold, he began a slow circle in between the man's legs, rubbing against them with the side of his cheek as he waited for the door to open. Purring loudly, he added in subtly, "Got any grub in here by any chance, Herms my man?"

Hermes unlocked the door to 2A with a little bit of shuffling to find keys until Bob hopped down, curling around his neck. The ridiculous moniker of Herms made him scowl, brows drawing together in a slanted line, but Hermes chose to ignore it, unlocking the door and pushing it open.
It was a simple, one roomed apartment, with a washroom and a wide living area and not much else. Boxes were stacked neatly in rows, and there was a small TV tucked away to the side, plugged in, hanging on the wall, along with a shelf of DVDs and a cable box. Hermes sometimes watched things after he practiced; the extra apartment was a rehearsal space for violin as well.
"There is a mini fridge," he said, "I'm sure there are snacks there. Will this satisfy you?"

Satisfy him?
In front of him lay a figurative Treasure Island. There were boxes on boxes on boxes, all begging to be peeked into and explored. There was a TV with cable and DVD options, the room was set to a perfect temperature and the senshi had just assured him that there were snacks available. Hermes had absolutely no idea that when he returned, all of the boxes would be turned over, looted through and left in a messy array across the floor. The fridge would be barren of anything even semi-edible and the nearby window would remain closed, but now mysteriously unlatched.
Oh, Bob was satisfied alright.
"I'll take it from here, my godly friend. I'll catch you around, if you want some more stories about the old days, but this cat has some Judge Judy to catch up on."
With that, he waddled his way towards the television in the corner, ignoring the exasperated sigh as the young man turned around and closed the door behind him.
