"Thoughtful" he said a hint dryly to hide his confusion and the sudden sense of loss when the music stopped. It made no sense for him to have been so afraid..so why was he? Oh lots of things to be afraid of ..but flighty panic?

He let out a soft sigh "....No....not really. You have a nice voice " he muttered truthfully before being reminded of the computer in his hands. One he could barely remember picking up. Looking faintly suprised he look up at Zaku and gave him a hard look as his normal personality settled in again. If he was crazy...well he was going to take advantage of it. "No. It's fine" wondering why he could heal now and he couldn't heal before, trying to figure out why he would offer was already another thing to add to Zaku's oddness. Also the crystal? Was it being broken that prevented him from healing? But didn't muses grow a new one? Ama said that....

"a*****e!!"

Sh** he looked around the room in a flicker of panic, but Zaku had closed the door and the blinds. Pretty sure that scream was for him, no real reason other than intuition. Snapping the computer open he turned in such a way that the light only reflected against the wall as he quickly moved around, oh good it was also unlocked.

He blinked a bit in suprised at what he found. Programs, files, etc. right now it was linked to one of the video feeds in Aldas. Moving quickly be open a browser and logged into one of his cloud based accounts he started transferring things in while opening another browser to check current news in between. Wondering how long he had now before Cordellia came. Wait..would she ev..

Frowning faintly he risked a glance up at Zaku and back, looking complete absorbed. "...Do you want help escaping all of this? Do you even want to?" he said quietly without looking up. Zaku was to innocent...even if he held up well when they were discussing their different views, what he was doing now made no sense. Nor allowing him to wander free all this time...it even seem as if he was supposedly allowed to leave when he wanted. So a figure head....someone they put up and rally behind and even cared about but only a puppet while others controlled things.

Zaku smirked as he considered his actions thoughtful even despite his lack of enthusiasm in his voice. Though, his comment about his voice did catch him off guard as he shifted his eyes back to the ceiling. "..thanks." He hadn't expected that, but it was nice. He began to sing softly again. Even after Cordelia began to scream, only looking over to Tri with a cursory glance and continuing on in his song. It wasn't until Tri mentioned escaping all of this that he began to laugh. Like, really laugh. So hard, he had tears in his eyes. Now, that he did not expect. "I don't. At least not yet." he paused at his own words, then continued after the laughter subsided. "I know they are loud and unruly people, but they are my family. They are all I have. Without them, I would have nothing left at all." he narrowed his eyes, still staring at the ceiling, "Besides, they need me. After everything we've been through... and everything we've fought for... I can't just leave now..." he his looked pained for a second as his voice went quiet. "...I tried that once.. and look where it got me." he took in a deep breath and closed his eyes. "It's not their fault. They are just trying to live while they can.... because we all know we could easily die with every passing day that we fight. Tomorrow might be our last, so they... we choose to live in the now... I don't know if you can understand that or not, it doesn't honestly matter if you do or don't... it's just the way we do things around here." he looked over and smiled genuinely. "Thank you for the offer.... It's.. thoughtful."

Cordelia was digging through her bag and pulled out a second laptop and opened it, bringing up a program and beginning to type it. "Yeah, I know I know, not very lady like... My father hates it but you know what, that son of a whore took my laptop..." she paused to laugh at her own insult, proud to insult him and Mara in the same swing. She focused on the screen as she typed vigorously. "Oh ******** my life.. He's uploading? What the ever loving s**t. How is he past my damn proxies." she was looking pissed again as she began to type again. "..come on.. Kick him out.. Kick him out!! Who ******** knew king douche canoe had tech expertise. Ahhh come on!" she was trying to run a stop prompt to her other computer as she began to grin without realizing it. Almost as though she enjoyed the challenge of it all.

Moira just laughed a bit more as Cordelia continued to curse, though as she went on to talk more about the tech, she just let out a sigh and leaned her head against the couch. Technology wasn't really her thing - nor was science - so it was relatively pointless for her to even try to understand what the other was talking about. Letting herself relax a little, keeping her ears and third eye open, the hulking mass of a woman just seemed to be relaxing. "People can be surprising sometimes, more so our people. It's amazing what we can do when we think about it.." She murmured, her eyes still closed.

As Tri typed light from the screen washed out the glow from his eyes making them seem almost normal. He paused long enough to cast a faintly disapproving glance at the muse before looking back down again, scanning and opening different folders in a hurry."Is that what you know or wish? " he muttered distracted. "Because they seem capable of running on without you these past 7 years." Wait...script stop? And another? "Tss..." He whispered quietly waiting for a moment, as if hoping it would continue in the background dispite it. He barely heard the whispered words Zaku said, only catching the first part actually.

"Maybe you should let them, save yourself and those others who follow you before things explode " he said quietly frowning before doing a key command and shutting the window and upload just as a 4th prompt appeared.

A look of realization then amusement cross his face as he opened the dos command line and type in the command to change the IP address. While the connection with the net went down he moved to networks and shut down all computer sharing and outside allowances except for that with the router. Moving back to the browser he opened a new one and set everything up to continue upload again, keeping the proxies he typed in when he first started. Not his computer so he could only do some stop gap measures to buy himself some time, -if- it was some on else or horrid timing.

He didn't even realize he was smiling as he moved back to the folders.Giving the pictures a quick glance through after throwing out any documents and programing files he could find to the upload.

Zaku sighed and his eyes became slightly stern as the smile faded. "At the end of the day, as much as you want me to be some kind of victim, I'm not. I chose this position. I am one of them. I may not be as chaotic as them, and I may wear my heart on my sleeve, but when everything comes tumbling down, I will be there to help them climb back out." he paused, looking at Tri who seemed to be assumed with the computer, as he frowned. "Just like Mara is important to you, they are important to me. Like I said, they are my only family. And I would do anything to protect that." he closed his eyes and sighed once more. "I'm sorry.. but I wouldn't have it any other way..." he then picked up his book and began to read it again, not bothering to put his headphones back on. A part of him had wanted to say yes, just to have that chance to be free from fighting, but the war never stopped. He wouldn't be solving anything by running, only causing more problems and betraying the only people he could consider his family. Sure, they would probably just let him walk out the door if he wanted to, he had done it before, but he wanted to be here. He wanted to fight, just like everyone else in that house... well, almost everyone.

Cordelia gasped, "ARE YOU SHITTING ME?!" she hit the keys hard, her eyes darting across the screen. She seemed frustrated for a moment but then a huge grin surfaced on her face. "That c**k-juggling thunder c**t switched IP's and locked me out of sharing... well two can play that game." she laughed as she began to type vigorously once more, as she pulled up a program and began to run scripts to DDOS the router, flooding the ports, and began to force her way back in. In all honestly, she knew exactly how to stop him in his tracks, but this was turning out to be too much fun to play a battle of tech-wits, almost forgetting who the other person was. "Take that, you ******** mothering twatbag!"

ARE YOU SHITTING ME?!

The smile almost grew into a grin, he was actually enjoying this until Zaku answered his question. Slowly the smile faded away completely as he ignored the photos and gave Zaku his attention. So....it was completely without a doubt that he didn't want to leave. Not a victim....now the shoe was on the other foot, both of them have chosen their path. It was a pity...pulling Zaku away willingly would have changed things so much. Assuming Mara was still alive to see it.....

He narrowed his eyes "Anything...." He looked away and down toward the computer again. "So did any of them die during Parley? No....I didn't think so. 100 humans died that day though, 100 humans with families and friends mourning them and changing their view of metas. 1/4 of them were people from SIU, people I could almost consider family. " he said quietly.

"who were trying to understand metas. " he frowned as the upload slowed to a crawl and started to break apart. Damn it...he didn't have the time to figure out what she had done now. Shutting off the connection to the router he pulled out a USB from one of his jacket picked and plugged it in, transferring what ever else he could until it maxed. "I want to know what you think of It. They are your enemies I understand but what is your perception or all this, why did you let them go so far?!" his eyes narrowed slightly, since the second window he had open was a report on Parley and the deaths that happened..listed by their platoon. Two of Mara's team...and so many others he knew as a child growing up.

Zaku paused from his book, sighing and closing it slowly. So this is the conversation he wanted. Zaku was trying to avoid this topic but Tri was forcing his hand. "Tri.. War means fighting, and fighting means killing." he started in calmly, pushing himself to a sitting position over the side of the bed facing Tri. He looked to the ground and paused, running his hand through his hair. "I'll be honest, I don't control Murder Squad well. They can't even control themselves. An truly uncontrollable force.. Which is why I ordered them not to get involved. It's harder to keep command of things you haven't ordered in 7 years. For them, it's easier to commit murder than the justify them. But that doesn't mean it's what I want. Each murder is one too many." he looked at him with tired eyes. "However, civilations die by suicide, not by murder." he stared at Tri with a solemn, almost distressed look. "Even though we did not lose anyone during the parley, that does not mean we haven't lost hundreds or thousands of our own families in this fight. All of us here have lost things. Don't sit there and try to act like we haven't been in the same situation. You think we just go home and forget about all that's happened... I will tell you right now that you are wrong. As for me, I carry each one of their death on my heavy conscience. The ones that I'm at fault for, the ones that were casualties of my poor decisions, and the ones that died because of my absence. Every one of them." he closed his eyes, playing a hand in his face. "If you're quite done instigating some kind of heated debate with me..."

Cordelia blinked as the reistance seemed to stop. It confused her for a moment before realizing when should probably be stopping him somehow. She set her laptop down and walkiled over to just unplug the router and then moved through the house looking for Tri. She moved to knock on Zaku's door, she heard some talking. She looked concerned and went to knock but a hand grabbed hers as she looked to see Baelan. He shook his head at her and she frowned, then walked away without a word.

Tri listening intently he pulled the USB out and dropping into a pocket before closing the laptop. ((Electric surge lvl 1: Static on laptop Roll: 2 ))

Moving to a table he just placed it down carefully and finally looked at Zaku. "For all we knew... you did just that. Go home and forget about it" he said quietly. "That is why Mara hates you all, why she was reluctant to meet with you. She is one of those casualties fighting back, she was afraid her mind would be changed if she listened. Was even more reluctant to go to parley other than there might be some real peace that could be achieved ...then she would just swallow her pride and "listen to the peony headed stalker" ... " he trailed off not having to explained what he had said before about what happened at parley.

"As for myself? " he closed his eyes for a moment. "I have killed...humans, very few metas. All with some type of dangerous mark on their heads....I guess that is only a very slight ease on the conscious. But a life is still a life" he sighed " Your Murder Squad... are similar to them. " he opened his eyes again and leaned against the table. "You say you carry the deaths they inflected on your conscious along with all the others...so why are you so afraid to handle them?" he kept his voice even now, watching the hint of distress it cause Zaku but he wasn't there to.... he wasn't sure why he was there at all really.

"I don't blame her. Though, I obviously wished she had listened. Yet, even then, there's no guarantee that she'd see the side of things that might at least get her to understand. But that's passed now."

He looked over at Tri as he confessed to killing others. Dangerous mark or no, they are still people. But for some reason, it was a slight comfort to know that Tri had seemed to feel the same way about the subject. He narrowed his eyes and focused on the floor now, sliding his hand to his forehead. I'm not afraid of them. And I handle them the best I can. It's what they are capable of if I let go that I'm afraid of. They are just a bunch of directless teenagers with more power than they know what to do with. These kids were born into all this fighting and that's all they know. Every day I'm trying to show them that it doesn't always have to be fighting and violence, no.." he paused and shook his head. "That there is such thing as peace and it can be achieved but even if that path is paved in good intentions, it's not a smooth or straight path by far. It takes determination to get there. As long as they've been alive, they didn't have someone to show them the way. I've only been back a couple months, but I'm doing my best to show them the way. I hope you can understand that." he sighed, running his hand once more through his hair, closing his eyes and coughing a bit. "I may have a bit of good lucky on my side, I'm still making bad decisions. But I'm learning from those mistakes and I keep moving. And in the end, I'll die.. and I'll likely pay for every life I've taken... and I'm okay with that. But I'm not done fighting yet. Not as long is these lungs draw breath. And as long as there are still Metas out there that are being hunted, killed, and experimented on."

"Zaku " he said quietly and lifted his index finger to his head to indicate quiet. "I am starting to understand your problem." He frowned, pretty sure the muse would take offense either ways and not really caring. " Things you have said have ended with "if you can understand that" it isn't hard to understand. " he narrowed his eyes.

"So when you speak like a politician and try to inspire and manipulate everyone to your way with a bunch of fluff added to the main point...No" he muttered shaking his head. "You are trying to explain as if I can't understand, aren't you? " he sighed.

"We can understand, we are just not agreeing. Two different things. When I asked you why you were afraid...that wasn't a question of if you were afraid or not. It was a statement. Why are you afraid? And it isn't about losing control over them. You haven't even had that for 7 years" He said looking at the muse closely.

"I am not here as your friend, your follower, or even someone with a passing interest in the renegades. So rage, scream, attack me if you want. "he said taking a breath and moving closer to the bed. "What I am doing is trying to understand what I am fighting against. If you don't even realize it, perhaps it's time to take a step back away from everyone and just analyze yourself. " he continued on with an even if slightly disapproving voice. Observing the other's reaction and realizing how close he was to Zaku. It would be nothing to either hurt him or grab and teleport out with him now. If only everything he had ever counted on as his foundation wasn't on fire, one that would turn on him at a moment's notice.

"You'll die..." He muttered anger flickering under his words as he took advantage of Zaku's distraction to lunge. Trying to grab his hair and pushing him back toward on bed while at the same time trying to summon a glowing dagger made of cold ice to place it against the muse's neck or near his crystal. "Is that what you want? To die and stop having to worry?" He nearly growled, trying to push back the anger that had flared. " I can oblige and let the renegades show their true colors not bogged down by someone as fearful or deluded as you. " He asked softly waiting, his voice cold just like the blade even if his hands were very warm.

Zaku showed a flicker of alarm as Tri grabbed at him, but his instincts kicked in quickly as his face stiffened into a hard glare, reaching under his pillow as he was pushed down, pulling out a dagger and pressing it again Tri's throat and grabbing his wing with his other hand [Good Fortune]. He held the knife steady, staring intensely at Tri, a serious look on his face. "I am not afraid. Not of them. Not of you. Not of death. If you can give me a good reason to kill me right now.... No, you would have already..." his face softened only very slightly. "You're letting anger consume you... And let me tell you by experience... That anger doesn't solve anything.. And nor will my death." he stared at him, trying to read his face but couldnt. "The way I way I see it... You can lay down and die or you can stand up and fight. And I'm done fighting yet." he hardened his glare, pushing the knife a but before easing up. "I don't have to be nice, Tri. I choose to be that way... for a reason."

Tri barely flinched as the knife pressed deeper against his throat nicking the skin enough to let a bead of blood well up while the cold light dagger started to lightly freeze the skin around the muse's throat. He pressed up his own dagger in warning barely resisting the urge to plunge it the moment Zaku said he was not done fighting and nicked his throat. It was very close actually, only the slight lessening of the glare gave him the hint that he might not do it. Stupid healer, why did he always have to be so stubborn?

Wait healer? ...That was why! Zaku reminded him of...darn it!
Tri narrowed his gaze and phased, pulling away from Zaku entirely until he solidifying back in the middle of the room.

"Don't delude yourself. I have multiple reasons to kill you, but only two for not doing so right now. One of them is trying to understand you... You don't frighten easy but then you are afraid to handle those odd elements in your group. " he said with a hint of disgust as he touched his throat with his finger estimating the damage before pulling it away. "Then your niceness bordering on the inane. Do you -want- me to bring down your group? Or are you afraid of something else and hoping to use me as an insurance policy? You talk about a reason for you niceness ...what would that be that would make you act so stupid? And in plain terms no more rhetorics " a flicker of anger again, at Zaku, at himself, at this whole situation, he was so tired of being utterly confused.
PostPosted: Tue May 17, 2016 6:03 pm

Zaku watched as Tri phased away from him, moving back to the middle of the room. He sat up, still on guard with knife in hand as he reached his free hand up to touch his own neck. Taking a deep breath, he kept the intense stare with Tri until he began to speak. Two reasons not to kill him. Understand him. And wanting to know why he was so... nice. The thoughts in his mind mulled over, speeches, inspiring words, but he was beginning to realize that wouldn't exactly fly with Tri. Always seeking the blunt truth of the matter, instead of all the flare and hopeful words. He really was resemblant of him. Zaku sighed, pulling his leg up onto the bed and rested his arm over his knee. He began to flip the blade up and catch it idly, his eyes narrowed in seriousness as he spoke. "You want to know the truth.. why I'm so nice?... I'll tell you on two conditions..." he flickered a stern look at him. "You don't tell anyone. Not even the other renegade members know about this and I'd like to keep it that way." he then focused on the blade again, flipping it up and catching it. "Second, you don't pity me over it. I'm not looking for your sympathy. You wanted to understand me, and this is all I have to show for an answer."

"The reason I'm so nice,.. is because of Silver. She was something of a mother to me. We lived in Haven during my childhood. When you're a kid, you never think that one day your parent might suddenly not be there anymore. And as a hard-headed teenager, you never think about the consequences of your actions and how it can affect other people." he flipped the knife and paused and shook his head, he was doing it again, getting off topic. "I recruited hundreds of metas to that place... all to ensure they'd keep her safe. Yet, when they felt my usefulness was expired, they turned to her for experimentation. It was my fault that she was there, and that my negligence got her hurt. In the end, it almost killed her, and she was hospitalized for days. She was in so much pain, and I was so angry. I lashed out a lot back then. Even when she begged me to stop. But I could see how much she was suffering. After a few weeks, she knew they would only hold her existence over me to keep me compliant and begged me to take her life. I... I stupidly agreed... I regret not fighting harder for her." he frowned, taking in a shaky breath and looked away from him. "She was dying, and was still telling me to smile." his voice cracked a bit as he swallowed hard. "She was the first life I willingly took. I was so furious at Haven for what they did to her, but I was still complacent. Then I found out that Silver's death was not the only one I had caused. All of those people I had recruited... were dead. Dead because of me." he moved his other hand to cup his forehead to cover his eyes. "I used my voice to rally meta like sheep to slaughter." he took another breath, trying to steady his emotions, the pain in his chest so unbearable as he let the knife just hang limp in his hand. "I guess I do it all because of my guilt. I want to make up for all the bad I did. And it's incredibly taxing to keep causing more deaths even when I'm fighting for freedom. I guess, I'm not really afraid of them... I'm afraid of them making the same mistakes I did. Being reckless and getting people killed. I suppose you could say I bit off more than I could chew." he moved to look at Tri, but stopped, he couldn't do it. He couldn't even look at him. "And before you tell me to give up or just leave... I can't do that. If I just left after all the damage I've caused, I'd only be a coward. Someone who makes a mess and expects someone else to clean up for it. I'm not like that. I'll see it to the end... I have to. Not just for Silver... but for myself."

Tri watched Zaku intently while he tightened his grip on the barely material handle of his own dagger, knowing that would do nothing to help him if Zaku actually had a balanced dagger and knowledge on how to throw.

Pulling his gaze away from the weapon he meet Zaku gaze and gave him one short nod of agreement, narrowing his eyes again slightly but listened to his reason.

//Haven... // A hopeful word for such a dark place, one many metas had gone into and never out. At the mention of parents one of his wings shifted slightly in discomfort then held still.

Finally he let his dagger dissipate into the air and crossed his arms, his cold gaze focused on Zaku listening while showing nothing at all. In reality he was alarmed at the story that spilled from Zaku's lips and the deep agonizing pain the muse was showing. It felt wrong somehow that he would tell him of his past of his mistakes and current pain. Why did he think he was more trustworthy than one of his close teammates? or were they close at all? Zaku was a ball of contradictions and trying to figure him out only seem ensnared you deeper.

Pulling his focused away from his thought he started listing key points, not sure how many he would remember but already forming menomics until he could write it down somewhere.
1: Zaku was a Haven survivor.
2: was raise by someone called Silver who was used to keep his compliance and loyalty in Haven.
3: Zaku has a voice ability to ..."convince" others.

Haven being run by psychopaths ... like always.

4:Haven experimented on her, Zaku finished killing her
5:All recruited metas died
6:Run by guilt and wishing for better
7:Still blind to the fact that the teens are killing and bringing unwanted attention.

Tri blinked a little when Zaku stopped, his own face impassive as he studied the muse. He was not so cold or hateful of him, for the story not to touch him in some way, a small part of him wanted to... reminded of a certain white hair meta. Yet there was really nothing much to say and a lot to think about.

To kill someone you love to save them.... To even be forced into that position. That pulled at him more than anything else while realizing Zaku did care for those metas he pulled to their death and those death he was causing now. Except.... Zaku was to hard to read to figure out in any sensible way because he was not sensible at all.

Moving toward the window he opened the blinds and looked outside. "Going from what you said, everything you've done has been because of guilt and anger at Haven" he said mildly, without a hint of pity in either his voice or face, keeping Zaku in his peripheral vision. "Then why are you so focused on the governments instead to hurting Haven itself? " unable to explain why they didn't try to show the conditions at haven.. the more human like metas that have been injured. Tried to get support among the humans to push for what they want instead of just moving directly to getting rid of representatives.
