This is a concept I wholeheartedly support, so I'd like to pitch in as well! I had been dumping stuff into my mule account and I started throwing together outfits to sell to try to move more stuff, and I realized some of these were pretty awesome outfits. For me, it was faster and a fun challenge to make them, and I did learn some things. I hope its okay to share, although I'm sure this is stuff that you've already know!

-Flooded market affect. Nothing drops prices faster than everyone suddenly having an item and trying to get rid of it. I usually try to take advantage of post-grant market conditions-like events and holidays, and scoop up those items while Gaian's are fighting to under bid each other. I also keep track of what RIG's are dropping in LK, and will start buying those when they get stupid cheap. I also watch what's on sale in the cash shop, when CI's that generate bundles go on sale, the items and sometimes even the bundles start getting cheaper.

-Give recolors a chance! I know many people have strong opinions about them, and I'm not debating whether or not they should do recolors, just that when they do, it does give an opportunity to get a great item at a price that can be more affordable.

-Check out the outfit store. Sometimes you can get bunches of stuff reduced, or get multiples of the same item (to create the whole look) for less than buying individually.
