“Only really important in front.” He answered. In the back it wasn’t a needed thing, he’d never worn one in the back of a car, only if he was in the passenger or drivers seat. He even would lay down in the back seat and fall asleep - all normal. It was even common to see children moving about or walking around in the back of a car - if you could see past the tinted windows of course. Shifting a bit, snuggling in closer, the food settled in his lap as he figured the discussion was over...though it did seem something else different between cultures.

He knew there would always be something new he’d find out about, something else that was different, but he never knew when or where such a thing would crop up. It seemed this seat belt thing was the next thing that was different between the cultures and might wind up with them talking about things?

Terry shook his head with a frown at Seung’s response then eyed the other for a moment. He was almost afraid to look up how many deaths from car accidents happen in South Korea if that was the attitude everyone had over there. He gave a sigh then shifted so he could buckle the other up himself. “It’s important no matter where you are in the car. You are just as likely to fly out of the car in an accident from the back seat as the front seat at the very least.” He didn’t mean to lecture but it was certainly something he wanted to impress the need of safety. Terry made a mental note to talk to the other about seat belt safety and see if anything else about car safety needed to be discussed.

Blinking open his eyes he stared up at the other, but didn’t complain or comment. It was odd being in the back and having a seat belt on, something he’d never done actually. “Or be trapped.” His cousin had been in the back and without her belt she’d been able to get herself out of the car her parents had been driving home in with her. They hadn’t been able to get out but that wouldn’t have helped anyway, or he doubted it. Maybe the belts had added to the injuries. He hadn’t heard anything about it from the doctors at the hospital that night, but he’d been busy with Eunkyung and comforting her.

He wasn’t looking to argue over it though so didn’t say anything, and didn’t remove it, he just settled back till they got to his block. That was when he sat himself back up straight, ready to unbuckle as soon as he could and hop out of the car.

While Terry could concede that at times seat belts could end up trapping a person or adding to their injuries depending on the accident, the pros tended to outway the cons. “That’s why it’s a good idea to have a knife somewhere in the car that you can reach just in case.” He said, thinking to the two his parents had hidden in each car, one for the front and one for the back. Terry looked over at Seung, glad the other wasn’t taking it off at least but decided to show him reports on studies of how seat belts were necessary even in the back seat.

He gave a small sigh then pressed another kiss to Seung’s head before the other sat up and dropped the subject for now since he didn’t want to fight about it either. “So are we going to be watching the show on tv or do you have any recorded?” He asked to change the subject as they got closer to the other’s house.

“On tv, have it saved there.” He answered, glad for the change in topic. Sometimes the differences in culture seemed to cause little...arguments that weren’t really arguments, but they were a bit more than a simple discussion as well. Other times the differences weren’t so...important, well they were important but not in the same way as the other things were. He wasn’t sure how to exactly say things, how an argument was an argument but not...because it wasn’t a simple discussion at least not when compared to most normal talks they had. Was there a way to more...properly describe it? A term for it? He didn’t ask but he did wonder.

“Won’t be on now - time difference. Record some to watch later...time change makes it hard to see at proper time.” The time change was a big thing, very big, it impacted a lot when it came to tv or talking to family and friends back home. It also meant ordering anything from there took a lot longer to arrive as well. Some things they had to get family to purchase and ship as well.

As the cab pulled to the curb he got out, holding the door for Terry again, the cab driver was giving the price for the ride and this time he didn’t go for his wallet. He knew it was something he didn’t let Terry do often enough...but he was the older - it should fall more to him. The thought was pushed aside as he held out his one free hand to the other, offering him a hand up and out of the cab.

“That’s nice, always convenient to have a show you like to watch saved.” Terry said with a smile, also glad that the other easily took the topic change. They hadn’t really had a fight just yet, not really. All they had was slightly heated discussions at the most which was fine with him. While he realistically knew that they were bound to have a fight sometime over something, he would much rather that they worked things out before any topic’s got to that. “Makes sense. I keep forgetting to ask or look up, what is the time difference between South Korea and here in the States anyway?” He had certainly meant to look that up a few times when he was looking up other things of Seung’s home country but usually the topic’s ended up distracting him before he did.

When the cab came to a stop Terry unbuckled and payed the driver, giving a brief smile over to Seung for not turning it into a race. He didn’t mind when the other paid for things, he really didn’t, but sometimes he was more inclined to spoil him. He also knew part of it was probably thanks to wanting to help Seung save up his money after having helped him look through different scholarships and such for college but he couldn’t help it. Once the driver was paid he took the offered hand and got out of the car. “Thanks.” He said with another smile.

Nodding his head to the others words, he saved a lot of shows and had to really. The time difference made it where that was now the normal thing around his house. He was, hearing the others questions, surprised Terry didn’t know. The other had looked up a lot of things, things which had surprised him, while he’d been away on vacation. To not look up the time zone difference was...shocking. “Fourteen hours ahead.” He answered. It was a big difference, it made communication very difficult as well as tv shows and other things. At first it had been very odd, and difficult, to get used to when it came to those things. Often texting people when it was...inconvenient or just when they were sleeping. It wasn’t such a good thing but after some time his family and himself had gotten used to things.

Nodding his head he smiled gently. “Welcome.” Tugging the other after him he approached the apartment buildings front doors and pushed them open before stepping inside. The entrance to the building was nice. A small room with a slightly smaller side one, with a few chairs and a side table or two and a coffee table. On the first floor there was just one door to one single apartment and that was owned by the buildings owner. It was from that door which an older gentleman came with a package. Calling out to Seung as he made his way toward Seung and Terry, box in his arms, he was explaining how it had arrived earlier for him and he’d signed for it for Seung.

Handing their dinner off to Terry he took the package and bowing, even though the man was clearly not Asian, Seung thanked him and holding the box to his chest he headed them toward the elevator where he pressed the button to call for the metal box that would take them up to his apartments floor. Already knowing the contents of the box he was happy to see it had arrived, it was from a cousin of his. Inside were various products he missed from home and was either out of or hadn’t had since the move, save for the short holiday time back home.

“Ah I see.” Terry nodded when Seung told him the difference. It was certainly a difference and he could easily imagine all of the troubles that could come with switching that far. Anywhere from talking to family and friends, to simply watching a show could easily become a hassle. When Seung started to tug him along he went willingly and peered around at the building, having never been there before. It looked like a nice place and he hadn’t heard the other complain about it so far. The inside was just as nice he decided before they were flagged down, or well Seung was, by a man with a package.

He took the food when it was passed to him so Seung could grab the package and gave a polite nod towards the man. When the other was finished he went along with him to the elevator and peered at the box in Seung’s arms curiously. “Is it something you were expecting?” He asked, figuring it was so seeing how Seung hadn’t looked surprised but pleased when the box was first shown.

Looking up from the address on the package he nodded his head once, smiling. “Yes, from family. Some things can’t order...so have them buy and ship.” He answered while the doors closed and the elevator headed them up to the correct floor. “Cannot buy some foods and drinks, even market here for us doesn’t have all.” The market for Asians didn’t have everything, it didn’t cater to just Koreans or just Japanese or Chinese. It had items familiar to them all which meant that in order to fit everything...it didn’t have everything he was familiar with and missing. Plus not everything he enjoyed could be found back home all in one market either. So he had ordered certain foodstuffs as well as some other things, some new socks as well.

When the elevator stopped, the sort of stop which always brought his stomach to a sudden lurching falling feeling, he stepped out as the door slid open with a ding sound filling the empty hallway. With no one else around the walk down the hall wasn’t so bad, as sometimes neighbors asked him things, asked for help, or just wanted to talk. Sometimes the short, and simple, walk took longer than it should. At least the neighbors were nice though.

Pulling his keys out, from the one place he kept everything, he slipped the right key into the lock when they arrived at the proper door. Turning it to unlock the door he pushed the door open with his hip as he turned the knob. Calling out a greeting as he moved aside to let Terry inside before toeing off his shoes. Hearing a call back, his cousin, he let her know he had a friend over and they would be in his room watching tv and having dinner. If she hadn’t eaten yet he would lend her money to call for Korean take out or something else if she wanted it, she had been trying a lot of chinese food and other foods since moving here.

“Cousin is home.” He said turning his dark eyes on to Terry to explain. “Thought she was out.” And he had but it seemed to not be the case - oh well. “Will show you while eating?” He offered while stepping further into the apartment. The living room was decorated in white and cream with leather furniture, a big screen flat tv with a small apple tv seen under it on the small tv stand which housed just the apple tv box and a dvd player with remote for it all. The coffee table was low to the ground and glass with mats on the floor around it, for obvious reasons.

The dining room was connected to the living room, as they were really just one large room, so the distinction was just some empty space and then the dining room table and chairs, a flower arrangement in a vase at the center of the wooden table, and a light hanging from the ceiling above it.

There was a small door by the entrance which lead to the coat closet, and where shoes were stored when they weren’t being worn, like rain boots, snow boots, and other such things. Opening that door he pulled out his house slippers and grabbed another pair they kept for guests. He had, at some point weeks back, thought of Terry and picked up a pair in his size. Explaining to his family that they were for a friend who he might eventually invite over. Now he brought them out and laid them on the floor for the other. “For you, just you.” Seung explained, hoping the other understood they were his, might as well write his name on them - no one else would wear them - ever.

Package in hand he shuffled, in his socked and slippered feet, across the living room and to the kitchen which was the next room, right behind the living room, with the entrance to the room on his right. Stepping in for a moment he popped open the fridge that was right there. “Drink?” He called over his shoulder smiling.

Terry just nodded as he listened to Seung’s explanation. It made sense that some things wouldn’t be available here as they were over in South Korea, he just felt bad for whoever had to pay the shipping fees. As the elevator came to a stop and Seung started to walk out, Terry followed behind him, and looked around the hall. There wasn’t much to look at besides doors with apartment numbers since no one else was out so after only a minute he was paying more attention to Seung rather than his surroundings. When they stopped at a door and the other started to unlock it, Terry was sure to memorize the number just in case he came back later without the other as a tour guide.

He moved into the building when Seung held the door open, hearing the reply to the other’s call out so he wasn’t surprised when the other man said it was his cousin who was home. “It’s fine.” He said with a small smile. He was curious about her, hearing a few things here and there from Seung so it didn’t bother him that he most likely would get to meet her. “Sounds like a plan to me.” Terry followed Seung into the apartment, looking around and taking it all in. “This is a very nice place.” He said with a smile to the other. He was surprised when Seung said the other pair of house slippers were just for him but he glanced around to make sure the other’s cousin wasn’t near by then gave him a quick kiss on the cheek. “Thank you.” He said then changed into them and followed the other into the kitchen. “Yes please, just go ahead and pick something.”

He had caught how the other looked around, and figured the reason for it. Once in the kitchen, with him looking for a drink, he let his eyes drift up to the other for a moment before speaking as he continued his drink hunt. “Cousin knows about me, so does sister, figured it out on their own. “Don’t know about you but won’t tell parents, haven’t about me.” So he was safe with his cousin finding out, though he would prefer her not knowing he wouldn’t go out of his way to keep it from Eunkyung - he trusted her.

Looking over what was in the fridge he pulled a green bottle for himself, an aloe drink with pulp in the bottom of the bottle, while for the other he grabbed something a little more...tame and normal from what he had been seeing in the normal grocery store. Offering the juice drink to Terry he closed the fridge and leaning back against its brushed metal surface for a moment. His dark eyes looking over the other as a smile tugged at his lips. “Show you my room than I go bathroom to change.” And remove the face products he had on, and put to use the ones he used every night. Pushing off the fridge he lead the way to his room down the carpeted hallway, enjoying the plush feel under his slippered feet as it was nicer than a solid wood floor - softer and cushy.

Pointing out the bathroom he went to the next door down the hall, a slight turn in the hall, and he reached his door and opened his door. While the living room and dining room were white and cream in color, and the kitchen was an off white color and pale blue, his own room was cream and dark red - a very warm and comfortable feeling.

As it was still nippy out at night he had a fake fur blanket on his bed, under it a sheet of a pale gold color, the fur was a cream color while his pillows were done in deep crimson colored pillow cases. The wood in his room was a nice medium color as well, nothing too dark or too light. On his dresser where all the silver picture frames he had and one still stood there - empty and waiting for a picture...one of Terry.

Terry gave Seung a smile and a nod, glad he didn’t have to worry as much as he would have had Seung’s cousin not know about him and be comfortable with his preference. “I’m glad you have a few who support you then and that I won't end up getting you in trouble on accident.” He had heard of way too many stories of families who couldn’t accept their children to not worry after all and from what Seung had said and implied before, his parents would fall in with the families from the stories. “Thank you.” He said, brushing his concerns away as he took the offered drink from Seung. He looked over the juice then nodded at the rest of what Seung was telling him.

“Want me to stay in your room or in here while waiting for you?” He asked with a gesture to the kitchen and living room area’s as he followed the other out into the hall. Terry looked to the door where Seung pointed out the bathroom was to make a mental note of where it was then went back to paying attention to where the other’s bedroom was. When the other opened the door, he peered around the room then gave Seung a smile. “It looks very nice and relaxing.” He said as he looked back at it, taking in the different picture frames on the dresser.

“Mmm, her and sister figured it out on their own….and asked me.” Or rather they’d confronted him about it and he’d confirmed it, after they’d let him know that he had their support and silence. It had been a whole thing really but he was glad for it - glad they knew. They were the only people who did know actually, as none of his friends back home even knew. He knew, like most, that the younger generation was more open and accepting but people still didn’t come out - it simply wasn’t done. So even if he felt he shouldn’t have to worry about his friends knowing he still would never tell them, it simply wasn’t important enough nor was it something he should share. They didn’t need to know, it didn’t concern them.

“My room is fine. We will watch in my room.” It would allow for his parents to come home, when they did, and them not to perhaps walk in on anything they might question. He doubted anything would happen, aside from cuddling which would be a fairly normal and ok thing, but he didn’t want to risk anything really.

“Is nice and comfortable.” He said nodding his head and motioned to his bed. “Food can go on dresser, you can eat if you want while I go to bathroom to be washing up.” He said pressing a quick kiss to the others lips. “Make self comfortable.” And he left the other to enjoy himself as he went to the bathroom. He’d grab a change of clothing when he returned to his room. He wanted to be quick in the bathroom and he had much to do, so he would cut down on time in the bathroom by changing in his room in the closet.

Terry listened with a nod when Seung explained that they had found out. “I’m sure that would have been a rather surprising confrontation until everything was explained to say the least.” He gave the other a sympathetic smile and brushed the back of his hand across Seung’s cheek. When he had come out to his family he had been nervous even with knowing they would most likely be fine with it, he couldn’t imagine how the other must have felt when he was confronted out of the blue with very little reassurance. At least it had turned out well for him in the end.

“Alright then.” He said with a nod, understanding the unsaid reasons to go with the said ones. “I’ll wait for you to be done before eating, a meal is always better with good company.” Terry said and kissed back before watching the other leave. When Seung had left to the bathroom he turned back to look around the room. While he fully planned to sit on Seung’s bed and wait for him, he could admit that he was curious about the other’s bedroom. After a brief look around he moved over to Seung’s dresser to look at the many pictures, smiling to himself at how happy the other looked in the ones he was in. While some people were a bit familiar from the other’s video’s, other people he had no clue about which didn’t surprise him. His eyes glossed over the empty frame, briefly wondering what picture Seung would put in that one, then his eyes caught on a slightly opened drawer.

He wasn’t one to snoop, honest he wasn’t. But it was open and he could see something that looked medical in origin and seeing how he wasn’t sure if he trusted Seung to look after himself medically… well he opened it after a moment to see what it was. To his surprise he found a supply of epinephrine pens, all up to date, but he couldn’t remember seeing the other actually carrying any of them on him. He lifted one up and looked it over thoughtfully. Seung had told him that he was allergic to nuts and if he was bad enough to need the epipens then he really should be carrying at least one on him at all times. After a moment of thinking about it, he shut the drawer and tucked the epipen away in one of his pockets. If Seung wasn’t going to take care of himself then he would do it for him. That done he moved over and sat on the bed to wait for his boyfriend.

It had been a stressing, and nerve wracking, confrontation. He’d been worried one, or both, of the girls were going to tell his parents. Knowing how his parents would likely react, or at least having a good idea, he had been worried about it. The talk had ended well though and both kept his secret, not that it meant he went and told them he was dating someone or anything else. He wasn’t going to go and suddenly involve either of them in that part of his life, not beyond them knowing about it. Smiling against the back of Terry’s hand he pressed a kiss to it before he’d headed for the bathroom to get himself ready to enjoy some tv and good food, though he wasn’t sure how good it was yet.

The time in the bathroom was spent removing the makeup he wore, after removing his contacts and putting them into their case, and then various things were applied to his skin. Allowing for each to absorb properly before the next was applied to his skin, there was a system and order to it all and it worked well, as he kept his hair from his face with a clip. Once he was done his hair was brushed out quick and with his glasses being slipped on he headed back to his room, unaware of what Terry had found in his dresser draw.

Still in his day clothing as he drifted into his room, which did include the medical bracelet he wore at all times, he went to grab some bed clothing from his dresser. Underwear, ankle socks, shorts that reached just above his knees, and a too large t-shirt. His door closed, as he’d closed it upon re-entering his room he didn’t figure Terry would mind him stripping down in front of him so without warning - that’s what he did. Stripping himself down to nothing before he started to pull on clothing, his back to the other he did keep looking over his shoulder at the other, dark eyes watching carefully.
