"What is it, Lawrence? You just said you were a part of Jan. A part. A part of a whole. Like, say....a limb." To which he glanced at Jan's missing one and looked back up.
"So as long as Jan is here, then he can stay. As long as you are aware and admit he is here, that you are a part, then he can stay. That's what I'm saying."

His patience, what little there was of it when it came to frustration had run out.
"Jan is a mask. A silly voice and a set of lies I put on Melvin. That is all. Jan is not here he was NEVER here." he reverted to his manner of speaking without the accent and mannerisms, the claws still summoned.
"That is the way things are, that is all that will be admitted. If you cannot accept /that/ then you are telling me to leave and that you are delusional and require time to come to terms with your delusion."

He considered Lawrence leaving but it was him leaving that made things worse and unsafe for Jan. If anything, being here gave Jan a safe place to live, a reminder of who he was and the comfort of their home. It could benefit him more and Melvin disliked the idea of sending Jan off to some other room. Some other person. Rodney was here too and maybe could help. The very least Melvin could do was warn him of what was going on.
"Maybe. Stay here. It's more your style. I have other places to sleep, but I'll be back." Lawrence in the meantime could eat and help Jan's body grow.
Melvin moved to go find his backpack. He couldn't be here and make love to this other person. Just because it was Jan's body, it wasn't his heart. He wished ******** could make him see the light and cure it but he knew it wouldn't somehow.

He raised a hand. "Melvin. No." And it went against every selfish bone in his body, every part of him that said stay where things were nice and cushy and reap the benefits of the situation but he shook his head. "No, this is your room as much as mine. I wouldn't feel good being here and not knowing where you were, given what I've told you."
He shook his head. "I haven't earned any of this." And he hadn't, having been storing up his own pay and a lot of Melvin's for some time and letting Melvin foot the bills.
"Let me leave."

He paused, feeling a nagging agitation at whatever this all was. Turning, he repeated these words back. "No, this is your room as much as mine. So yes, you've earned it."
He didn't want Lawr wandering, but he seemed like he wanted it a certain way. Didn't he mention Jan ran to the jungle because he wanted things his way?
"No. If it's going to be this way, I guess we just both stay here. Even if things are what they are right now." For now.
If it meant putting up with Lawr to ensure he wasn't with someone else where he could get into more trouble or hurt Jan's body, then he guessed it was just how things had to be.

Lawrence gave Melvin a very exasperated look for his comments. "Staying here." he said flatly. "Both of us."
He set his mouth in a thin line and stood up to his full unimpressive height. "Well, I could do that. In the same room, the same bed. Just as it is right now. With no sex or contact. Just. Roommates. If that is what you want. I am perfectly happy to get out of your way though."

It wasn't what he wanted. None of this was what he wanted. It was like Jan was still lost in the jungle, wandering lost and with every possibility of getting hurt in some unknown way. Yet this time, there was just some evil twin walking around in his place.
He checked his phone and breathed out. "Yeah. Sounds like a plan then." He was tired and worn, and moved slowly to the bathroom. He needed a shower and he still hadn't eaten all day.

Lawrence grimly watched him go, not sure how he was handling it at all other than with denial and finally desummoning Butch. That was it for now it seemed like, though he didn't think it was over at all.
He picked up his bag of popcorn again from where it had fallen and sat down again, it was better than having to live somewhere else... probably, though nothing felt resolved at all and he knew even now that he would be up against a very frustrated libido before so much as the day was out.
