Super Dia
(I HAVE NEVER FELT SO RELIEVED)

Embarrassed was an understatement for how the candy senshi was feeling.

Serandite had saved her...sort of. Okay, so she was technically safe from the swinging metal balls of death but not by the swift boot of the General herself. The knock had sent her forward and out of harm's way, but not without costing her dearly - she let out a wheeze as pain began to burn within her chest. At least one rib was bruised (as well as her ego) but she was alive.

Serandite had left her ribbon with Tourmaline, who was hastily creating a tourniquet out of the fabric. The beautiful silk was staining red, but there was no time to think about how much her arm hurt or how stupid she felt. Alkaid and Serandite were running ahead and the longer she lingered behind, the further away from the prize she distanced herself from. Her delay was costing Tourmaline and Grendel both precious seconds as they stayed behind to attend to her. It probably would have been more of a heartwarming moment if she hadn't felt so humiliated.

Her cheeks were scarlet, but thankfully the darkness of the Labyrinth kept her shame hidden. Her injured arm moved to cradle her aching chest and the super senshi shoved herself forward just as Tourmaline finished tying her knot. "I-I screwed up, okay? Lesson learned. Look before I leap, whatever."

Others were ahead but her legs were only scratched up at best, more than capable of returning to a decent speed in attempts to catch up. She avoided eye contact with the Guardian, certain there was vast disappointment in his stare and instead took off after the others.

Well, until she heard the first whiz as it shot by her head.

Darts. Oh, fudge.

There was no grace in her approach to missing the Flying Needles of Probable Death, the young woman dashing haphazardly in a zigzag pattern. It seemed to work well enough, though a wayward dart or two somehow managed to lodge itself in her long waves of cotton candy pink.

Apatite, clearly, had seen way too many Indiana Jones movies.

Captain Quartz

The abrupt metallic thunks of sound that signalled the agents ahead encountering some new obstacle filtered back to Quartz, but he didn't initially know what they might be -- just that they were some fresh danger. All-One, scouting ahead, provided the answer:

"Darts --

Bullets --

Things that -- fly -- "

This was nice information to know, but didn't really provide him or Schörl with an advantage in getting around the things. The assault was on them as soon as they arrived, like it or not. He didn't like it.

Quartz was a tall man, and built for muscle: the amount of constant rushing and dodging involved in evading traps like these was more challenging on his body type than, say, tiny Ceraskia's: he could try to be fast and he could try to be agile, but there was nothing he could particularly do to make himself any smaller than he was. Still, he did his best to hurry, since there was nothing else for it, and not to get hit: and though he wasn't doing spectacularly at it, he'd narrowly managed to avoid getting caught by any darts at first.

Then, without his noticing, one of the darts that clipped his long trailing sashes caught the fabric instead of just tearing through, and then snapped into the wall. Quartz didn't expect it, and staggered momentarily, off-balance, to tear the dart and the fabric loose from the wall -- but in doing so, had to throw his other arm up over his face to block another dart that nearly caught him in the neck. It drove into the flesh of his forearm, buried deep in his skin, and he hissed.

He managed his way past the obstacle, yanking the dart from his forearm, and began a slow, difficult effort to loose one of his sashes and hopefully get it knotted around his forearm just below the elbow to slow the spread of any potential venom. It was difficult in the darkness of the Rift, with only his teeth and one free hand to use to try and fashion a secure knot. He wasn't sure whether Schörl or Ceraskia would tarry long enough to help, or if they'd choose to forge onward.

Grendel - Guardian Cat

As Sailor Dia charged off in a childish moment of shame, the cat pinned his ears with irritation and concern. "Thank you," He muttered to Tourmaline, appreciating her for doing what she could to try and assist.

There was no time to wait, though. The small cat raced after the senshi in question, his eyes narrowed with concentration. That was when he heard the soft fwip of something flying--and yowled with surprise as he twisted out of the way of a myriad of darts racing towards him.

His tail was bristled with shock, and he leaped at Sailor Dia, sinking his claws into her hair so she couldn't get away from him so easily. He scaled the mess of hair until he could perch on her shoulder, growling against her ear. "Don't be reckless! I did not awaken you so that you could get yourself killed! You're too important!"

Corrupt Ceraskia

A gentle hand at her side, urging her forward, and the senshi turned to flash her general a grateful smile, only to realize it hasn't been her soft touch, but that if the acsebded General, Alkiad. Pale cheeks darker subtly, dark lips murmured a word of gratitude, but Ceraskia wasn't sure what else to say, nor was there time to mull it over.

The group continued forward, and the dancer along with it, ignoring the sting at her shoulder blades. She follow weed the glittering trail of Quartz and All-one as they raced ahead in longer legs, diving head long onto cross crossing fray of flying darts, because there there was no timing to consider here, no logical means to increase her own odds, only speed would see her through to the other side, and she had that.

She slowed, briefly, when both captain and general paused, ready to race back, but loathed to give their mistress another body to worry about--and that very nearly happened anyways, a dart whistling past her left ear and leaving a thin cut on her delicate cheek. Instead she darted through to the safety of the other side of the trap, and lingered there anxiously for the two to make it through as well. Only then would she care on.

Captain Amethyst

Hearing Kitalpha's shrieks as soon as he crossed the booby trapped floor, Amethyst turned around and saw the corrupt senshi who had fallen as a result of a mistimed jump on her part. Not the type to leave someone down and behind like that, he backtracked a little to try to help her up, his eyes giving her a cursory look over to evaluate her current condition in light of the injuries she had just sustained.

"You alright?" Couple of scrapes and cuts. Nothing terribly serious though the gouges in her back might give her some trouble depending on how deep they were. "If you need help patching up the wounds on your back, come look for me at the infirmary later. Just try to keep up for now alright?"

Satisfied by the fact that Kitalpha was going to be fine on her own, he gave her a smile before heading deeper into the maze. Arriving at the next obstacle that consisted of countless darts that were shot out of the walls, he paused for a moment to catch his breath and check out the situation. Seems like there was no way around this short of teleporting himself across and risking tiring himself out prematurely versus making a dash for it.

Deciding to go with the latter option, he took a deep breath to psyche himself then very simply ran as if his life depended on it.

Noctua winced at Alkalid's pressure on her side, but said nothing. Instead, she accepted the encouragement. So she... wasn't alone? She watched the cracked soldier pass her, so familiar in form and yet... so strange. She'd never seen someone so lined and strange. Noctua made a note to find this soldier later and find out exactly what she was. For now, she leaned enough weight on the nautical senshi that she wasn't limping slowly, but instead hobbling more efficiently.

This hobble, of course, turned into something a great deal faster when Noctua heard something whizzing past her ear. To her left, a small, thin dart stuck fast into the stone wall. She cursed in a low voice, the first time she had spoken since coming to the nega verse.

Noctua wrapped herself as best as she could around her new companion, attempting to take the bulk of the barrage as they made their way through. Hopefully, she thought dimly, she had done something helpful other than become a living pin cushion. Noctua pulled a few darts form her arms once they were safely across and slipped off of the other soldier and against the wall.

"You need to go," she said groggily, pain washing over her in waves. "Don't worry about me. What's the worst that can happen?"

Captain Tourmaline

Words of comfort and reassurance lingered on her tongue, unspoken due to the fact that the moment she parted her lips to say them Dia was up on her feet and taking off again.

Tourmaline huffed, dusting herself off before taking chase. She pulled her crystal out to consult the map , trying to figure out what they were up against next. When she saw nothing she shot out ahead, racing forward and ---

Narrowly missing a dart to the face.

Tourmaline skidded back, spring green eyes wide as she stared at them for a moment, trying to figure out the pattern before cursing, loudly as she sprinted forward. Her new coat and boots seemed to do the trick in shielding parts of her that had once been left covered and she seemed satisfied enough that she could ignore the nicks and grazes as things that almost happened, but obviously didn't.

Lt. Prasiolite

She felt like she was lagging behind, but maybe that was just because her back was killing her. Still she trudged forward with the others, her thoughts still slightly murderous as she thought about the possible scarring from the damn metal ball.

The thud of a spike flying out of the wall and across the room, hitting the other side startled her out of her thoughts, more flying out at an impossible speed. She jumped and she ran. She honestly didn't think she could run any faster and was surprised she could run this fast. She only knew that the idea of one of those possibly skewering her was not on her bucket list.

Forget whatever it was they were supposed to retrieve, let her just make it there.

Ascendant General Alkaid

Darts were not as scary a thing as swinging, spiky death balls. The last of Alkaid's reservations slipped away and she found herself surging forward, pushing herself on long, graceful legs toward her goal. A dull thud in her arm grabbed her attention and as her bright eyes dropped, she saw a needle point lodged between the plates of her arm.

A small frown pulled her features as it was quickly plucked free, leaving a thin, snaking wisp of black smoke billowing from the puncture in its wake.

There was no time to waste considering it, so she continued on..

General Serandite

A jolt ran through Serandite as she heard the all too familiar voice of Alkaid calling her name- her name. Although that wasn't the factor in which Serandite slowed down, wincing as darts stabbed through her sleeves and what was left of her silk ribbon. She felt the metallic impact hit her squarely in her side, red oozing out from that area.

Oh god, she hoped these weren't poisoned.

No, Serandite's attire was partly a factor, a large target to be pinned down by several darts. A pained grunt from the General sounded as she tore her sleeve from a precarious dart, a struggle with her small frame. Even a small delay was deadly, as proven when several other darts sliced against her skin. She barely managed to avoid another direct impact, tumbling through the foreseeable end, with much more wounds than she cared for.

She (hopefully) would have time to talk to Alkaid later, excitedly, but for now, she was out of breath and bordering on a little too much blood loss for her taste.

Darts?

An unpleasant revelation while wallowing in dim twilight, where sight was hindered for dodging. And the way full of others as well. Quartz, with the glitter of All-One and all the hold of his uniform, was at least easier to see than some. Then the glitter of him in the tail of her eye vanished with the sounds of the darts.

She whorled, gripping her cape and Barbary in the motion to banner out cinematically. A try to slow, redirect, impede the darts as a makeshift barrier between Lazarus, herself, and more darts. Crouching Officer, Pincushion Lion.

Until they could both lunge forward again with the scent of more blood. "Keep moving!"

It was worth noting how Prasiolite, Alkaid and Amphitrite sailed through the darts; be it luck or talent, they were an impressive sight to behold. Still, Alkaid managed to steal the lead and she was already nearly at the next obstacle before the other agents had really cleared the darts. Grendel and Serandite were next, still doing impressively. A good few agents were getting close to catching up—most notably Amethyst. Amphitrite and Prasiolite.

Some were not so lucky; though Schorl had drawn back to try and aid Quartz, both they and Noctua were struck each by a single dart.

Toxins immediately began to flood their system; the darts were small, and the poison seemed to be geared more towards multiple darts doing a target in. Thankfully, only one struck them, and the effects were short lived; they might feel disoriented, dizzy, fatigued or loopy. But they were alive!

The next obstacle almost seemed to take pity on them; strange pillars, precariously stacked, speckled the length of the hallway. They were stacked so high it was impossible to see the top of them (especially not while running), but to those that took a second to observe the scene they might have noticed an occasional splatter of color—a splash here, a smudge there. You can't quite see what's on the wall at the end of the passage but there seems to be something on the wall.

But you have to get their first—and watch out for the rocks on the ground, and the strangely poorly constructed and haphazardly stacked pillars.

General Ascendant Alkaid

Bright, quick eyes assessed the situation looming before the Ascendant and despite her eagerness to be done with the task at hand, she had no choice but to pull back and approach this next obstacle with more caution.

Nothing about those haphazard pillars seemed safe and moving too quickly across the rocky terrain was foolish. With her face set into a narrowed focus, she let all thoughts of her fellow agents disappear. This was the first area that did not have an immediate, obvious threat - but it still made her uneasy. Things could not be so simple here.

Alkaid slowed to pick her pathway through the area very quickly, with the growing sensation of danger looming overhead.

Captain Quartz

Quartz did not have time to linger and lick his wounds in miserable peace -- not only because he was poisoned and might need treatment, but because his General hard ordered him otherwise. Keep moving was the task du jour, and he forced himself to do just that -- even though his arm was vaguely throbbing and his head was starting to swim. He would keep moving. It was the only option.

The people ahead of him seemed to be making their way through this newest obstacle -- a precariously built corridor lined with looming pillars of badly stacked rock. If he just followed their lead, he could probably stagger his way through, which was all their group was trying to do -- and, he suspected, was about all he was capable of.

They went forward.

Turning one corner, vertigo hit him like a horrible wave. He stumbled, hurrying to try and catch himself . . .

. . . but to no avail, as his weight struck hard against one of the pillars.

There was a heavy, rocky crunch somewhere high up, like something just sliding ever so slightly. Then everything seemed to happen at once.

There was a sudden, confusing, ferocious buzzing as All-One deserted him in all directions, zipping away to safety. The whole pillar began to fall, and Quartz reached out unthinking to grab Ceraskia, next to him, and shove her forward into safety.
