General Obsidian (take 2)

Cinnabar's reaction earned a toothy grin from the general, and he looked thoughtful for a long moment. "Well," He said, "Then I'll plan on making that our second date." He chuckled, apparently unconcerned with the very real threat she could offer before turning his attention back to the senshi at his side.

"Did you bring marshmallows? He asked seriously, looking almost wistful. "I'm all about that marshmallow goodness...." He paused for a moment to casually flip off Lieutenant Angelite before returning to the conversation with Sailor Hydra. "Totally would. Haven't met a pair of boots that doesn't like me."

Right. Okay.

He tossed a wink her way at the request. "Sure thing. Just means you'll owe me a favor..." Obsidian prowled past her to finally join his lieutenant and the other one he didn't know. "You know," He grunted as he hauled a particularly impressive rock out of the way thanks to his Chaos-enhanced strength, "It would really suck if these all fell on us right now. Just saying."

Lt. Coffinite

Coffinite really had no idea why the others were fussed by the darkness; however, admittedly, he hid in shadow and his shop's attic often enough now that he was used to the dark - blessedly, the crystal glow was not too bright for his eyes, and all he did was hitch a breath slowly before hearing Labradorite's question, and he grimaced.

"With something this unsteady I highly doubt it can sustain traps of that magnitude." Coffinite drawled, managing not to snarl. It was a true question, and a good one, but the Half-Youma wasd entirely not in a mood for others - his patience, in his case, was thin today.

The half-youma began moving after the others with a slow, paced gait trying to mind his step, and seek fingerholds in the walls; means to climb if needed; he doubted the others truly could climb as easily in an emergency, and so, he drew a pack of tarot cards from his pocket, idly beginning to shuffle them as he moved and humming, eying the others detatchedly, occasionally examining cards and humming. It was likely he would had done a reading if he felt more inclined or stopped, but, in his case, he did not try. Instead, he simply engaged in shuffling and reshuffling, a means to release his irritation.-

Corrupt Sailor Hydra

Despite herself, there was a flare of some emotion she didn't quite recognize in her when Obsidian's attention shifted from her to the lady with the tail and scales (Cinnabar). Immediately she pushed the strange feeling down, chalking it up to nerves and excitement because - this was her first big excursion since corrupting.

Plus the lady with the horns was a terrifying, but totally awesome, sight. The little senshi couldn't help but wonder if the lady had always been that way or if something happened to make her that way.

Maybe she'd ask another time.

Still, the girl with teal hair probably stared at the youma-general a bit too intently, whoops.

Did you bring marshmallows? The redhead was back to paying attention to her and immediately her gaze snapped over to him when she faked a pout and snapped her fingers. "Drat! I knew I was forgetting something," she heaved a sigh and shook her head. "Obviously I need to be better prepared for spontaneous bonfires." Briefly she wondered if the dragon lady could breath fire, that would be cool.

"Depending on the favor, it would be worth it." She shrugged almost skipping over towards the pile of rocks they needed to move, choosing one relative her size and only slight magical strength, tugging it free after some struggle.

Lieutenant Aluminte

Domeykite confirmed what he was thinking and Aluminte just shook his head, chuckled mildly. He appreciated that the slightly shorter man didn't bother trying to lie to him about the whole thing. At least if they were walking into a trap or danger there was someone at his side.

He appreciated that.

Most of their traveling was in silence, few muttered words exchanged between them as one or the other would comment about the change in the crystal's colors, the way the cave illuminated itself before they hit the wall.

The infrastructure looked weak, like it could crumple at any moment but -

they couldn't just stop. They had to keep going forward so, with a sigh and a glance towards the man beside him the lieutenant stepped forward, grasped at what looked like rocks that should pull free without causing a landslide. Of course, it was more difficult than it looked so he looked back at Domeykite and arched a brow. "Little help please?

Half Youma General Cinnabar

He was unrepentant, as expected, but he took her growling with good spirits. When the dark haired lieutenant at his side advised her against encouraging him, she merely smiled and lifted her chin, equal parts challenge and acknowledgement. When the other General turned his attention to the corrupt at his side, she turned hers to his other companion.

“We haven’t met before, and I saw you staring. Cinnabar, to put a name with the… everything.” The General said as she pulled a hand from her pocket to gesture at all of herself.

The roughness of the path they traveled forced her attention away from the people she traveled with for a time, but Cin navigated it with ease despite her tall heels. The strangeness of their surroundings caused her little concern, but when you were used to the Rift, there wasn’t much about Negaspace that came as a surprise. It was just another oddity that surrounded their Queen and as her soldiers, what did they truly have to fear?

Eventually, the group came to a fall of rock and Cin paused to study it, even as other moved to begin clearing the way. This was the place, the power that radiated from behind the rocks made that clear. All they needed was a space big enough to pass a body through… it seemed easy enough. The General moved forward to lend her hand to moving the large stones, half of her attention on the ceiling in case it decided to up and give in on them.

Haymitch

They were on the hunt for a crystal. He really liked shiny things, to be honest. They weren't as good as his letters, of course, but they were pretty to look at! Not that this crystal was just for him to stash away in his bedding, of course. No this was a very important crystal for a very important lady.

Metallia herself had asked them to go find this crystal! The Dark Lady! Not that... Haymitch had ever seen her, course. Not for any specific reason; he didn't think most anyone got to see her to be honest.

"Yes! Io-ma!" He grinned, tail wagging.

He was lifted then and let out a meow of glee. Haymitch settled onto the youma's head, patting him with his paws. "So high! I could send so much mail with you as my ride! Faaannnnggggggite can I have your youma? Please? Pleasaaassssssss?" Look, his legs were short and stubby and he could only go so fast when everyone else had mile long legs. And the youma seemed like the best place to sit for now. Left everyone else able to use their hands, and when Haymitch had to dig in his claws to stay attached, it wouldn't hurt an actual person!

Any normal cat probably would have gone for an actual human being, but Haymitch wasn't exactly. Normal. And not just because he could talk and fire beams of light from his forehead. When you're a stray and live above a post office, sometimes you get a little. Weird. Especially when the old ladies that work the front desk feed you their grannie candies that you're pretty sure are laced with something.

The rocks were problematic, but there wasn't much Haymitch could really do because... kitten. He could try throwing letters at the rocks but he didn't have any on him and... yeah. Besides they could handle it for him! Yeah! Cause he was a kitten! And a cat! And a kitten-cat! He could also just use his tiny body and climb through the rocks. If he bothered to look at the whole place for longer than 'oo shinies!' and 'oooo glowing fungus' he might have been more help. However, Haymitch was not exactly... observant in any helpful sort of way.

He kind of wanted to lick the glowing fungus and the shiny rocks...

No, focus Haymitch! Focus! Your cat mom has told you to focus. You are trying to ride a youma of all things! Trying to consider what the fungus might taste like - he really hoped it was cotton candy - was not going to help move the rocks or find any sort of crystal!

He couldn't even argue he was trying to come up with some sort of cool Mau tech; Haymitch was about as literate about technology as the little old front desk ladies at the post office were. Which is to say, not at all. So he waited to see if Fangite would allow him to ride the youma, and if not, he'd just trot along and squeeze through any spaces he could. Maybe move a pebble or two. Maybe.

Ooo pebbles to play with....

Makemake - Corrupt Senshi

Turning back was not an option. The little corrupt senshi would not accept failure. With a determined look on her face she set about with the rest of those who tried to move the rocks. It worried her though - what if the thing they were sent to find had already been crushed long ago by such falling rocks? What if what they sought was burried beneath other stone and rubble... What if it turned out to be more of an archaeological excavation than a simple grab and go? What if they got burried alive?

Okay, Makemake gave pause and shook her head vigorously at that last thought. Nope. No dieing today. Not in such an inglorious way.

Captain Jet

Jet followed behind Cinnabar and the others, watching as other Generals, Captains, and Lieutenants made their way to the cave. So their mission was to find some crystal. That seemed easy enough. Easy if others kept to the task and didn’t fool around in the process.

He rolled his eyes at Aquamarine’s comment about coming back to haunt him if he died.

“You already drive me to insanity,” he pointed out as he picked up a few more crystals on his way to the opening and started his way down it. He doubted that this task was going to be easy, but hopefully it wouldn’t be so difficult that they would risk getting injured in the process.

Jet stumbled on some of the rocks that were loose on the path, and reached out to grab onto the wall to support himself. He groaned miserably, wondering how he was going to keep up with everyone. Even Aquamarine was getting ahead of him. Most of them were gathered, moving rocks to clear the way, and Jet was lagging behind, sniffling and coughing and being gross behind everyone else.

He paused to lean up against the wall to catch his breath and rub at his nose again, watching with watery eyes as the others moved rocks.

This sucked.

Lieutenant Domeykite

For the record, Domeykite hated physical labor. One broad, pale hand slid back through his dark hair, tussling it as he blew out a long sigh for emphasis. Nothing about this seemed at all smart. Did following orders mean possibly being crushed to death?

He frowned and shook his head. That wasn't an answer he wanted, actually.

With said frown still plastered in place, he stepped up beside Aluminite and reached out to haul up his own rock - hoping against hope that he wasn't about to lose history's worst game of jenga ever.

"This is stupid.." he hissed under his breath for Aluminite's ears alone, annoyed, "it's going to cave."

Lieutenant Bloodstone

Bloodstone watched over his shoulder as others started to head their way down the cave. It was dangerous only if they weren’t careful where they stepped, or if they roughhoused to the point where they disturbed the resting stones. It had been a while since anyone had been down in the cave, so as long as they were careful, they should be fine.

Not too far behind him, he could hear the red haired general talking to Hydra, but he couldn’t hear the actual conversation. He didn’t want to interfere if she seemed not to mind the small talk, but if she needed help, he was happy to assist anyone who might need it. Despite the perpetual dour look on his face.

Reinerite seemed to be holding her own, and he was grateful for her focus on the task at hand. Kainite, on the other hand, seemed to be more trouble than he was worth, though Bloodstone dare not mention that out loud to Aurostibite. At least not in present company. And he was sure the General was well aware by this point.

Quite unfortunate.

For the moment, Bloodstone stood back and assessed the surroundings while the others worked on getting some of the rocks cleared away. On their way down, he could have sworn he caught sight of something strange, but as long as there wasn’t an aura, he knew it wasn’t a wayward youma they need to worry about.

Bloodstone frowned as the rocks were shifted and moved out of the way.

“Typically something is used to reinforce the walls and ceiling,” Bloodstone spoke lowly to Aurostibite as the others continued to work, although now he was watching their progress with growing concern. “A rock burst may be eminent if we’re not cautious,” he warned. If the weight of pressure on the surrounding rocks suddenly caused the walls to fail, they may all be in danger. The energy released would be more than even they as Negaverse officers could handle.

The rocks were unstable and it became clear just how dangerous it was when the digging resulted in Reinerite and Aluminite dislodging two very unpleasant bowling ball sized boulders that rolled right towards their feet. Ultimately nothing was lethal, but if they didn't move it was likely they'd have some incredibly sore toes. Smaller rocks shifted and rolled, threatening the group with a rock slide—but Angelite and Obsidian managed to get their hands on some of the more dangerous rocks before any damage could be done. It was a group effort, and things likely would have gone much worse if so many people hadn't been carefully tending to the wall.

Eventually, they managed to make an opening large enough to climb over—and even better for them, the cave seemed to be supporting itself.

The wall of rocks gone left the room open for them to explore.

This opening was immediately more interesting than the rest of the cave had been; it had its own special glow—likely because it seemed like a hundred different crystals were growing out of the cave wall. They seemed to come in all shapes, sizes and colors. There was a strange energy flow—something powerful prickled onto their radar.

Metallia's crystal was here.

Only, it could have been any one of the hundreds of different shaped crystals that protruded out of the wall.

Someone had be a crystal expert—or very lucky.

Quote:
There are crystals all over this part of the cave, and judging by the spike in powerful energy, one of these is the one Metallia has tasked you to recover! Unfortunately…there's really no telling which one it is. You're going to have to pull them out and hope that you find the crystal you're looking for before the cave loses stability.

Lieutenant Aluminite

With Domeykite's help, Aluminite managed to dislodge a sizable rock that promptly rolled at his feet. A yelp escaped him as he jumped back, unfortunately for him he was not quick enough and only spared one foot from impending pain. His left foot, thanks to his shitty luck, stuttered and the rock skimmed his big toe and he hissed in a pain, swallowing a string of curses between gritted teeth.

Okay, why was it never his day when he was in the Dark Kingdom?

He exchanged a glance with his green haired companion after peering through the whole just big enough for them to side through. "It could have collapsed but it didn't," he pointed out, desperate to look for any sort of bright side. The taller man swallowed hard, bit down on the inside of his cheek, inhaled sharply then nodded. "Alright, let's do this," he declared stepping through the opening.

He could feel that whatever they were looking for was in the room but - there were so many options how the hell was he supposed to know what to grab. "Well, might as well grab one right?" He mumbled, making his way over towards the wall and attempted to pull a crystal out of the wall, using his fountain pen weapon to stab at it.

General Obsidian

In retrospect, he maybe should have let some of these big rocks slam into some of the more annoying members of their little group.... but that would have looked pretty poor on him. At least Angelite was pitching her weight and helped him manhandle some of the larger rocks. He made an approving sound at her, pleased by her efforts.

Then they walked in on a ******** s**t ton of crystals.

"Done." He murmured to Hydra, clearly distracted at the sight of so many crystals. It was impossible to exactly pinpoint where the pulse of Chaos was coming from.... but hey, he wasn't about to sweat it.

Reaching out, his gloved fingers closed around one that caught his eye in particular, and he gave it a savage yank.

Corrupt Sailor Hydra

The corrupt didn't know what to expect as the rocks faded away and left them an entrance, but she should have guessed that room full of crystals would be it. Anything else would have been too simple, too easy and the teen was learning that nothing was easy when it came to negaspace.

She stepped forward cautiously, head tipping back so she could take in the sheer amount of crystals that decorated the walls. There was a pulsing inside that drew her further in, separating from Obsidian and his lieutenant (Angelite) as her heels clicked against the stone and she ran her fingers along the wall and the various crystals that adorned it.

She looked back towards the entrance, searching for her general (Aurostibite) whom she'd knowingly left behind her, hesitation creeping along her spine as she continued to walk. Her expression twisted into something of concern before she settled on a crystal she thought might be calling her name.

Then she tugged, throwing her weight into dislodging it.
