"Sorry for the interruption " he said quietly taking queues from her voice. "I was wondering if you could answer a question. " there was a paused as he unconsciously turned to look toward the door that lead to the deeper research levels, phantom screams echoing only in his mind. "If I were to take a feather and blood sample of a meta, would it be possible to customize a collar for them?" He asked bluntly.

Kae listened, leaning forward in her chair as she thought of the question at hand. "Yes. I can make a custom collar for a meta if I have a blood sample. Though, the time it would take to make it would be highly dependent on the age of the meta, the type of powers the meta has, and how strong those powers are." she retorted without empathy for the situation, despite it's ironic and peculiar reflection of a meta asking to make a collar for another meta. However, Kae already had a feeling why and who it was for. Sighing she spoke again, "I'd suggest bringing me the sample right away and I'll expedite the making of her collar. Aided by Zira, I'm sure if anything I can have a pretty good temporary one made until I can finish one that would stop all of her powers." she narrowed her eyes, talking like it was business as usual and that she felt no heart in the matter to simple rip away the one thing that made Metas who they were, willing to stomp out their powers without much question. "Is that what you want?" she asked in a softer tone, trying to at least leave the option to him. Kae could close herself off from the emotions that could effect her actions, but she wanted make sure he understood what exactly he was asking of her.

He never said they were a her so how did she know?. //so there are still people who remember// he thought to himself as he looked down at the feathers still grasp in his hands lifted slightly so the drop or two of blood would fall into the pinions instead of the ground.
"That is what I was looking for. If I were to say yes what would you want in return, current not a favor for a next time? " he said quietly thinking only back at the person in the cell. Humans used the collar out of fear....but when they had someone locked up who didn't even show the least amount of it for themselves or another ...and when questioned said they waited there willingly?
Everything in him wanted to avoid her as if there was something wrong...but there were people here he had to protect. So asking Kae Broken how to make a tailor made collar for a meta might be foolish, it also wasn't something new to her it seems, just something that took a lot longer to make.

Kae paused, she hadn't even thought about asking for something in return. Stupid. She set the device back down on the desk, leaned back in her chair and closed her eyes. What would she want? Anything she would actually want, they could not provide her, or she had her own ways to get what she needed. Maybe that's why they hadn't even bothered to ask her to join them, they had literally nothing to offer her to make her stay if she decided to leave. Everything she contributed to Mara and her team was mostly out of her own kindness magnanimity. What could she possible ask for? Kae thought on whether to decline having anything given in return, but she knew she couldn't just waste the opportunity. Even if it was used in a less than usual way, at least it was used. Or so she had convinced herself.
She opened her eyes and leaned forward in her chair, her voice calm and intent, "Go to dinner with me.." she listened for his reaction, she wanted to see what he was say to her request, even if it was outright denial.

"Dinner?" He sounded suprised and actually took a few seconds to run any bad scenarios that could happen for accepting but none came mind. "Sure, tonight or another day? Do you have an idea what type of food you want to eat or have it be a surprise?" He said sounding genuinely confused but not at all put off. No, it just made him wonder why Kae was still here making collars for Mara and now him...when she could have gone home after her visit.and why just ask for a dinner? He didn't have many resources and almost no saw in the base unless he wanted to start sporting a collar around as well..but dinner? Huh.
Collaring a meta..he was asking for that in exchange for dinner. Put that way it seemed wrong....but he still couldn't shake the feeling of wrongness when he was with Blaise and the way she had easily danced around Kage...also being Andy's sister..she did have some type of desire power as well? . It wouldn't have been something Mara would have allowed without more poof...but if Kae sends her the collar he doubt she wouldn't use it.

Kae blinked for a moment, genuinely surprised he obliged so easily. She had honestly expected him to get mad or at least outright decline her request, but here he was already asking when and what kind of food. "Tonight is fine. I don't have a preference on food. So just surprise me." she answered. "I'll start work on a temporary collar right now that I can give you tonight when we meet up. I hope that's okay." she seemed hesitant herself. She searched for something else to say, but couldn't quite think of anything. "I suppose I will see you tonight then..." she was already gathering items from the desk to start on the new device right away.

"No, that is fine. I'll pass by the lab and get the samples back to you with a solution kit for the blood. Then I guess I will see you around 6pm? " realizing they didn't set a time but he could change it to earlier or later. Most of his afternoon would be free while he waited for Tri to get better and he could possibly get the collar to Mara before he left...and bring her back something to. She was well?..but she was on forced recovery or vacation as she put it.

Kae seemed to smile, "Then its a date. " she hesitated suddenly. Something that usually was just an offhanded comment, caught her attention to what it would insinuate. Shrugging she smiled once again and held the phone in her hand now. " Well, i guess I'll see you at 6 then ... "
