She was enjoying the feeling of the water caressing her belly, so she wasn't really paying close attention to what Prim was doing. When she finally stopped to focus her attention on him, she saw his wings outspread, and she marveled at their beauty. Once again she mused about what her life would be like if she had wings. That thought quickly flew away as a small wave hit her, and she fought to keep her footing. She could swim just fine, but she didn't feel like fighting the pull of the tide, or the waves. She saw him step up onto dry land and knew she was almost there.
Once on the sandbar, she was able to shake the water from her body and take a moment to look around. He obviously spent a good deal of time here. Foliage was sparse, but that was to be expected on the small spit of land in the middle of the water. It was surprising that any trees could survive at all. She wondered if the small island flooded at high tide, so she asked him. "Does the tide ever cover the island?"

Satisfied that she had made the crossing safely he began to wander toward his windbreak his attention still on her. He watched as she studied his small sanctuary, hoping that it wasn't a disappointment to her. Unfortunately if it was she was stuck there now as there really wasn't any other way back for her other than how they had come. And he didn't want to think of her trying to swim back in the falling darkness. When she asked about the tide he was obviously very pleased with her curiosity. He didn't try to hide his pleasure as he answered. "Very rarely. Maybe once or twice a year. I call it my cleaning days." He chuckled at his joke. "It tends to sweep away the various debris that accumulates around the edges here. Occasionally it will even bring more wood that I can use to add on to my shelter." He had reached said shelter and was using a bit of magic to smooth out the sand where he planned to have them sit to watch the star show. He wanted her comfortable for the time that she was going to be spending with him. The thought that they were now virtually stuck together here for the rest of the night sent another thrill through him.
Just as he was surveying his work with satisfaction the first star blazed by overhead. Unlike the meteor showers back on the earth, the ones here were much closer and brighter. Many of the falling stars lit up the sky as they passed. The reflections of the light on the ocean waves danced across the island. He quickly looked her direction to watch her reaction of the ocean's light show.

His answer to her question put her mind at ease. The last thing she wanted tonight was to be overcome by the tide. Swimming was not something she particularly liked to do, but she could hold her own if she had to, and make it back to shore. She watched him prepare the sand by the windbreak and when he was done, she walked over and lowered herself to the ground. None too soon either, as the first shooting star flashed across the darkening sky. A soft 'ooh' escaped her lips as she watched its reflection off the water. "It's beautiful Prim. I don't think I've ever seen anything like this before." She smiled at him, waiting to see if he would come sit beside her. The water was calm, but there was a slight breeze blowing in off the water, and she was anticipating the warmth of his body sitting next to hers.

He watched with satisfaction as she lowered herself into the spot he had prepared for her, admiring the grace with which she handled the soft sand. He felt a warm satisfaction bleed through him at her awe of the spectacle. He had known that a strong mare like her would not have followed him out here on a whim if she hadnt actually been looking forward to the starry spectacle that he had promised but it was still reassuring and pleasurable to know that it brought her joy. "It's not the only beautiful sight out tonight." He commented softly. "I'm glad you like it. But it's only just starting. Watch . . ." He directed her attention back to the sky. Carefully he lowered himself next to her, boldly laying close enough that their sides were touching. He figured if it made her uncomfortable she would either move away or say so. If that were the case he wouldn't push it and return to giving her space. However, he hoped that wouldn't be the case. Of course there was the fact that she had followed him, a stranger, to a secluded place. That said quite a bit in itself about how comfortable she was with him. He quietly shuffled his wings around a bit trying to find a comfortable spot for them to rest. Normally he had them tucked in but with the way he had lain against her it made it a bit awkward to try to put them that way. Finally he folded in the one on the outside and delicately let the other drape gently over her. While he had been trying to get comfortable the number of stars flying past overhead had steadily increased to the point where there were now several a minute, the light show from the last just having enough time to fade before another lit the sky. He knew that eventually at the peak of the shower, about an hour into it, there would be multiples in the sky at a time. He let out a satisfied sigh, looking forward to enjoying the show with her next to him.

It took him a bit to position himself in such a way as to be comfortable, and she was half tempted to give him more room, but she was enjoying the sensation of his body next to hers, and when he draped his wing over her back, she felt a wave of warmth flow through her body. The stars were beginning to streak across the night sky in larger numbers, and she wished she had been able to tell her glory members about it, so they could witness the spectacle as well. There was no telling how long a wait there would be before they would have a chance like this again. She wondered what he meant by "not the only beautiful sight out tonight". Could he be trying to compliment her on her beauty, or was there really something else beautiful that would make itself apparent as the night went on? She leaned into him as she turned her gaze back to the sky.

He felt a warm deep throb of satisfaction course through him as she leaned into him. Prim felt a satisfied smile take up residence in his lips as he gazed up to watch the stars. He had been a bit apprehensive about how she would react to the familiarity of his wing across her back but he clearly had had nothing to worry about. Despite his intentions to watch the star show he found himself spending more and more time gazing at her instead. Watching the play of light shimmer across her coat. Gleaming in her mane. Sparkling in her eyes. She truly was beautiful as he had so awkwardly tried to say earlier. The starlight gave her a fae quality. The moving highlights and shadows making her appear as if a creature of cosmic origin. "Have you ever . . . Honey Danced?" The words just fell out of his mouth. Why would he say that? Of course trying to take them back would sound even worse. " I have. Once. I could show you. " He was torn between two parts of himself. One part was horrified that he would push something like that on this mare. The other. . . Was truly curious about her reaction. He thought quickly to think of something that wouldn't make it seem too forward. "I mean, you don't have too. But, I bet it would be beautiful under the starlight." Oh, his mouth. He should just stop.

There is was. All her waiting and wondering were at an end. She was so relieved when he asked that her answer took no time in coming. "No, I have not, but you are right, it would be wonderful to dance under the stars tonight. Show me how Prim. I'm your willing student." She extricated herself from under his wing and stood up, turning all her attention to him, totally pushing the star show in the night sky from her mind. She couldn't think of another male she would want to dance with more than him at this moment.

He was so stunned by her quick response that he was struck momentarily speechless. He just stared at her in awe while the stars continued to shoot by overhead. After several breaths he shook himself from his stupor and heaved himself to his feet. He briefly touched his muzzle to hers. "Alright. It's like this." And so he showed her the honey dance. Showing her how together they made patterns across the beach. Soon his mind had turned away from all of the nervousness and awkwardness that had been plauging him all day and he danced carefree. He felt as though, that together, they were no more than just another pair of stars shooting across the sky, shining brightly.

She had never experienced anything of its like, and she stored each moment of the dance away in her memory, to be relived in the days to come. She looked forward to what the dance might bring to her, and hoped that Prim would be a frequent visitor to the Glory should they be blessed this night. They danced late into the night, and the star show ended long before they dropped to the sand in exhaustion. She was just about to ask him if he would join her in the Glory when overhead she heard beating wings. Looking up she saw one of her Glory members. "Prim, something has happened. Leela would not have come in search of me otherwise." She stood and walked over to the female and listened as she gave her the news. Returning to Prim she said, "I must go immediately. The Queen has called all Glory leaders to a council. You are welcome to attend if you wish. I fear what she has to say is going to effect all in the Wood." She made her way down to the water and walked in, not knowing if she would have to swim, or if she would be able to again, bridge the distance on foot.
