With weeks passing by since the bank heist, Central city was as normal as it could be for a red streak protecting it. Even with all that time passing, he was still worried about the man that they called “Superman”. If he wanted, he could do much more then just take out a building. No one was sure what he was capable of doing.

A trail of electricity raced through the halls of Star Labs, making it’s way to the Nexus, or the main room of the facility. As soon as it made its way into the room, the electricity had disappeared and Barry stood there in the end. With a coffee in his hand from cc jitters, he sipped a little of it before placing it down on the desk.

He directed his attention from his cup of coffee to the Flash suit that had been displayed in the Nexus, he approached the suit slowly. With a minute or two passing by, thinking about how being the Flash changed his whole life. He walked back over to where he had placed his coffee, taking another sip of it, before entering the room where the cosmic treadmill had been stationed.

As he stepped into the room, he exhaled before walking onto the machine. Placing his hand on the screen to start up the exercise, adjusting it a little to get to the speed he wanted to train himself at. Before he began his run, he zipped into the Nexus to grab the boots off of the Flash suit. In a second, he was back in the room with the cosmic treadmill.

He swapped out his sneakers with the friction proof boots, he didn’t want another pair of shoes ruined. Everything was set, and he was on the treadmill. Starting at his normal pace of speed, he wanted to keep training each day so he could finally be fast enough to beat the man in yellow.

"Gideon." said Doctor Wells, as he held his hand down firmly upon the white podium. "Show me every article from the Daily Planet, Gotham Gazette, Central City Citizen within the past month. Search for 'Superman'." Harrison took a step back and put his hands up behind his head, he was panicking. "Over 100 of the newspapers articles have been scanned, Doctor Wells, more recently so to do with the destruction of parts of Metropolis that have been attributed to 'Superman'." Taking a deep breath, Harrison brought his hands to his face, and exhaled. Turning back to Gideon, he spoke through his teeth. "Thank-you, Gideon--" before he could finish, his eye caught footage of the Flash, Barry Allen, entering S.T.A.R. Labs. Harrison pressed his hand down once more on the podium, and ended the communication with Gideon. He turned around to his wheelchair, lifted and hastily put on his black half-rim glasses, and quickly left the Time Vault before his whereabouts was requested.

Slowly navigating his wheelchair around the Cortex of the building, he sat and stared at the suit of the Flash. People would come to love this suit, see it as a symbol of hope, of heroism. Harrison stiffened his brow, and tightened his jaw. He took this minute to think about how the Flash changed his life. Snapping out of it, Harrison caught the sound of constant hum of the treadmill, and the ever increasing speed of a rhythmic speed that was Barry running. Moving towards the window of the treadmill room, Harrison took a minute to watch Barry whilst staying unnoticed. Finally, leaning in towards a microphone, Harrison spoke. "Mr Allen" he said, giving Barry a gentle nod, "I believe you have broken your previous speed record on the treadmill." He smirked from one side of his mouth, and raised an eyebrow. He was impressed how much progress Barry had made in such a short amount of time. Raising his right hand, Wells signaled for Barry to come into the main part of the Cortex.

As Barry came out of the room, Wells turned his chair around and gave him a big smile. "You should be proud of yourself," said Harrison, as he leaned on the left arm of the chair. "Thank-you, Doctor Wells" panted Barry. Harrison continued to smile at Barry, but his smile eventually faded. He was thinking about Metropolis and it's Superman, he knew what this was the beginning of. Harrison held his head back a little, and raised an eyebrow. "Forgive me, Mr Allen." he began, "But I must know, you've seen what's happening at the moment in Metropolis, yes?" Barry replied with a nod, and said "I-I, yes. With their hero? Superman?". Wells saw an opportunity in what Barry just said, and took it. "Hero? Barry, listen to me. He isn't a hero. You're a hero." said Wells, as he clasped his hands as tightly as his resolve. "That man is careless, do you believe that for one moment he even thinks about all the people he has killed? Innocent people he claims to protect lie dead. Barry, ten years ago, you had to go through the unthinkable. The man in the yellow did that to you - he did that to one person. This, 'Superman', as they've taken to calling him, imagine how many men, women and children he has killed. All of them; fathers, mothers, brothers, sisters, sons and daughters." Harrison turned his wheelchair around, with his back to Barry, and gave him a side glance. "I acknowledge how many people I hurt whenever the accelerator exploded. I don't pretend to be something I'm not. It will haunt me for the rest of my life, and people rightfully hate me for it. I was beloved just as much as Superman at one point in this City, we were very much alike - the difference being I don't have powers, I don't have that arsenal of weapons thought impossible. So ask yourself, Barry, do they really call him 'Superman' because they love him? Or is it because they fear him?". Harrison could tell from Barry's face that he had ensnared him. As he was leaving the Cortex, he shouted to Barry, "This city is proud of you, Mr Allen. If you happen to see Mr Stone, please send him my way."

Superman looked down surveying the streets flooded with crowds of people doing their daily routines whether it was grabbing a cup of joe, getting the kids ready so they could take them to school, or just trying to relax in overwhelming traffic. He closed his eyes listening to all of the voices remembering a time where it overwhelmed him to hear everyone's conversations. A trial he'd eventually get through in time. Slowly he reopened his eyes before taking off into the air like a speedy bullet. Up ahead he could see a plane dancing and swaying in the turbulence, constantly buffeted by the increasing wind. As he flew by the plane he could see the passengers elated by his appearance. He flashed a quick smile followed by a nod before he continued on his way. The day was bright, young, and peaceful, a characteristic that was rare for Metropolis especially since the arrival of Superman. His presence had the effect that garnered good press and bad. Usually the bad was created to stop him as they believed he wasn't what he was made out to be. They wanted him slain for no other reason than that they couldn't contain him. He wasn't something that could just be used at their beck and call. Superman wasn't here to participate in wars. He was here to be a sign of hope. It was just unfortunate that others did not see it the same way.

Flying, he closed his eyes and soaked in the sunlight, feeling strong and refreshed as the bright rays of light penetrated into his bare skin, recharging the solar batteries in his cells. Superman had been embracing this moment of peace and quiet when a cry of help caused him to tense and turn around alert. His eyes were poised then, quickly as he darted off to find out what the conflict was. Superman was back in the city flying low in clear day for all to catch a glimpse of him whizzing past them. He moved like a blur to the normal eye and eventually there he was hovering with his arms folded at the cashier. "What happened?" he asked in a calm voice. The female cashier was panicked and scared telling him, "He came in and held us at good point. Said if we didn't put all of the money we had into the bag he'd shoot us. We did everything he asked and he still shot my Dad. Please Superman you have to save my Dad, please." They pleaded. Superman's facial was displeased at how another human being could do something so horrible. He tightened his jaw before zipping into the store where her Dad was and flying at a hurried pace to a hospital. Upon arriving he lowered down to the ground walking into the emergency room carrying the man. Patients and Doctors stopped what they were doing to see the Man of Steel himself at first stunned. "This man needs help. He was shot during a store robbery." the Doctors were in awe but a man's life was at stake so they quickly snapped out of their wild gaze and hurried with a stretcher to take the man from Superman and wheel him off to surgery. They thanked Superman who in return nodded, zipping off now with a different facial expression. It was a face showing displease and mild anger and for good reason too.

Of all the voices, noises, and chatter he focused on the footsteps and breathing of one person. Superman tracked that person going fast as possible snatching the man by his collar raising higher into the air. "You almost killed man..and for what? Money." he said no longer needing to pursue the man because they were now in his grasp. The man was beyond horrified. Not only did Superman have hold of him but he was up more than 20ft in the air. "Y-You don't understand man. This cash, I-I needed i-it real bad o-r-r some really b-bad people were going to be c-coming after me. It wasn't a-anything personal, I swear. I only shot the old man b-because I needed to make sure he wouldn't chase me." Superman listened to his story growing more agitated. "So an innocent man almost lost his life today because you got into bed with the wrong people? What if that were your father? Do you realize your actions today could've caused that young girl's entire life to change? Do you even care?" Superman asked sternly, his voice raising with each question. "I-I'm sorry, I swear it. I didn't..." he tightened his jaw this time lowering down below where the Metropolis precinct was. "If you ever pull anything like this again, I'll find you and it won't be pretty." he said lowering down to the ground giving the nearby officers the perpetrator. They thanked Superman as he flew back up into the air. It didn't take long before he arrived back to the store where outside the young lady was locking up so she could go seer her father. Superman landed behind her, "I believe this belongs to you and your father." he told her. She turned around then very happy to see that the money was retrieved after all. Crying tears of joy while she thanked him over and over. Superman smiled before departing one last time. He rose higher until he saw the Daily Planet. He needed to get back. Clark Kent was probably needed now as is.

Man Of Steel Superman

Barry H Allen

Billions of thoughts pulsed out into the depths of space, their psionic echoes like a beacon for the four vast fish-like creatures that burst themselves forward through space. Most worlds they came across were only in their developing stages, populated with usually around a few measley morsels around the hundreds of thousands to lower millions. Rare were the populations that had reached the higher ranges. The psionic echoes they were giving off was like blood in the water. The ravenous monstrosities moving with the utmost haste.

Upon reaching their destination, they splayed about all five of their vast tendrils, spreading out among the planet from far above. By now it was safe to say that they would be discovered. After all, if this was a developed, and surely it had to be if it's population had reached such staggering heights, than whatever devices they had that passed for deep space scanners would surely be going by now at the arrival of four massive signatures.

The Neural pathways of the creatures were on fire as they searched the world for prime targets. Either large areas with a massive populace or those filled with individuals of a "Unique" nature that would help to spread their influence. One such location was the city of Beijing, china, located on the eastern hemisphere of the glove. It's high mass population would prove instrumental in founding the ground works for their armies. Another such location seemed to be London, Europe. Equally desirable for it's location and connection to several other cities and surrounding countries. The other two searched even more thoroughly, looking for cities that would more than benefit their hunt.

And there they were. Scanning the mind pulses of the world's populations, they found just two such cities. One, home to a man, an alien not even from this world. A man that could bend steel and shoot fire from his eyes, these were just barely touching all that he was capable of. The other was home to a man that could faster than the eye could track, as swift as the lightning. These would be the lynch pins to their assault.

Their scanning complete, the four monstrous creatures went about their work. Hundreds of thousands of pin prickling sensations encompassed the lower parts of their body. Smalls slits spreading open across the entirety of their body, and allowing for smaller versions of the creatures to shoot forth in batches of thousands. Each one the size of a hand. They were durable creatures, easily capable of withstanding the heat and force of orbital re-entry. They shot forth through the air, entering the atmosphere like shooting stars and heading straight towards the cities of Beijing, London, Metropolis and Central City. It would appear like rain at first, until they arrived closer and closer. Upon landing, each creature would find a suitable host to latch onto and assert the will of Starro's Hivemind over their own, supplanting it and placing the original mind in a complete state of bliss.

And upon doing this, they would take control of all that fell to them, converting the fallen into a mass army of drones, and slaying or converting any that would resist. The more powerful the victim, the greater the asset that they provided.

Such was the way of Starro.

There it was the big kahuna itself aka The Daily Planet. Superman had his sight set on the daily newspaper building when his attention was drawn instead to the sky above him. Though, even with his perfect vision he couldn't make out what was coming down from the skies. At first he mistook it for rain but as it neared closer more and more he saw that wasn't the case. So he started to fly a little higher curious of what was falling into earth's atmosphere. Slowly about to come face to face with the parasite of some sort and before he could fully react it lunged onto his face. Superman tried his best to fend off this unidentifiable foe but it was too late. Whatever the parasite was, it'd already latched itself onto the face of Superman. His struggles lessened more and more as the alien life form made a home on his face. Until he just floated there, unmoved with his arms down to his sides.

Now a new eye formed from the star like figure. And then in the blink of an eye the Champion of Metropolis was off. Quickly, as he began to use his heat vision slicing buildings in half. People below pointed at the first building in complete shock and fear as it came sliding down crumbling to the ground burying the residents of the first floor. The controlled Superman watched before speeding off to cause more trouble.
