Watching as she dug out the notebook, he crossed his arms while she wrote, leaning back in the chair to the point of tilting it. He rocked the chair on it’s precarious axis until she lifted her head again, apparently checking her work and going back to cross something out or the like. Dropping back down, he leaned forward so he could see her handiwork and read silently to himself.
“If you’re sure…”
He reached for the bowl and the other fork gingerly, lifting it in a toast of sorts in her direction before sticking his fork in.
“Cheers.”
He took a bite, tolerating the veggies, but oh hell yes it was warm and that made it so good. Originally he’d meant to say thank you and introduce himself and all that civilized jazz, but dammit he was hungry! And when he looked up at her she turned towards the clock. Whelp, if they were in a rush…
A spoon might’ve been a better idea for this, but a fork could shovel just as well. Bowl-to-face, he greedily sucked down as much chow as possible, as quick as his mouth was able. Tasting it wasn’t really happening, but what he was picking up was making him quite the happy camper. His tail dusted the floor merrily as he dug in, taking another huge mouthful before lowering the bowl.
To see T’kani, apparently, looking at him. With his cheeks completely full of food… and the bowl mostly gone. Crap.
Lowering the bowl quietly to the tray, he actually chewed this mouthful and rather slowly at that, feeling his face burn in embarrassment. Swallowing, he grinned sheepishly.
“S’good. And uh… thanks. I’m Noelan.”
And this, this was stir fry. He didn’t want to keep eating in front of her, but he looked down and there was only a few forkfuls left. Maybe two if he heaped them. His eyes flickered up to her and then back to the remainder of lunch, and oh well decorum was already blown anyway. He quickly scooped up the last of it, stuffing his cheeks again.

She could only stare as she glanced back from the clock to the hungry wolf, who was midway through inhaling the stir-fry. It was good, but...wow. She had never seen someone who ate so fast before, or had such a big mouth. He was kinda short for a Grimm though, so maybe he was just...growing?
Blushing slightly at the thought, she shook her head slightly to stop them from progressing too far. Which was good because he seemed to notice that she was watching him a few moments after.
Smiling innocently at him, if only because she had no idea how to react to him without getting herself into more trouble, she tilted her head slightly at the his name. Nolan? She thought for a moment, watching as he finished off the stir-fry, then gave him a short reply; a small waving gesture followed by spelling out his name, mouthing the response as she did so. “Hi Nolan!”
She didn’t try to have a more complex response, as she wasn’t sure if he would get the gist of that one anyway. There was still the hope that he would just understand somehow, but it wasn’t a problem if he didn’t. She wasn’t saying anything too important right now, though she did have the idea of saying something more...suggestive, just to play with him.
That would be for later though. The cafeteria was slowly clearing out, which meant there was only a bit of time left before they had to part ways, and she still needed to slip him that note somehow…

The bowl now sadly empty, he tossed it back onto the tray and did his best to chew in at least a more dignified manner while she waved at him. He got that the hand gestures correlated to his name, but couldn’t figure out more than that. Yep, definitely needed to stop by the library after classes were done for the day. Swallowing, he raised his paw in return with a short flick of a wave.
“Hey T’kani.”
And now he wasn’t sure what else to say, only the pressure of awareness that he should say something more. Noticing the ebb and tide of the student body, he looked up at the clock himself. Just about time to roll out. Heh, this had definitely been the oddest lunch hour ever, and somewhat awkward too. It’s not exactly like he could say ‘talk to you later’ without it seeming… well, insensitive. His ears flicked in thought, and decided that honesty was best policy, really.
“Thanks for the replacement bowl, would’ve been a sad day if I didn’t have lunch. So… what now?”
Well, no one ever gave him any awards on tact, for sure.

Her face brightened and she smiled back at him as he seemed to catch on to the greeting and returned it; even if it was only a little progress, it was more than he had known out in the quad. There was still hope for this boy!
She frowned slightly as he also realized the hour was almost over, but she had been trying to push him along for this very reason. Perhaps not expecting him to inhale his food without tasting it, but if he was going to waste the meal she got him, that was his own problem. At least he seemed thankful for it, and she replied in kind with a smile on her face. “You're welcome.”
Not bothering to answer the question, she stood and grabbed her bag while fishing the folded piece of paper out of her pocket. Looking at the tray with the empty bowl, she made no attempt to hide that she was placing the note next to it, with the goal that he would focus on that and not what she was about to do. With his attention hopefully diverted, she leaned over to him and gave his cheek a soft peck, though she stretched the definition of ‘peck’ as her lips lingered for a few moments longer than was customary. “You shouldn't eat cold stir-fry, you'll get sick. I've got studying to do, but you can come over if you'd like. #08-0504”
With her task complete, she stood and walked in the direction of the hallways, running her hand across his back lightly as she passed. She had done her part, now it was a waiting game to see what he would do next. He had her dorm room number now, but if he didn't show perhaps she'd see him in the quad again? Both were acceptable outcomes, in her opinion.

Her mouth was moving again, and though he focused on the way her lips moved the first word was lost on him. Actually no, both were. Crap. At least, he thought there was only two words. There seemed to be just one pause there. Ugh, this was frustrating, and he hated feeling like he either was too stupid to get it or being toyed with. Though if she were messing with him he suspected the punchline would’ve landed already. Resisting the urge to rub his face, again, he settled for crossing his arms as she got ready to leave. Ugh, that meant he’d have to get back into the fray himself and still felt socially drained. The rest of the classes were going to suck.
Sighing, he tilted his chair back again while she rustled about. Huh? She had something in her claws. Watching with interest as she leaned to deposit the slip onto the tray, he was reaching for it when the briefest of alarms went off in his mind as a shadow cast over him. He didn’t even have time to turn his head fully before something warm pressed against his cheek. Flailing as he tilted back to far, he threw his weight forward and the chair thundered down onto all four legs while adrenaline from the near miss coursed through him. A light caress against his back, as if to steady him, and he whipped around towards her, eyes bright with anger.
“WHAT THE F-”
All mental processes ground to a halt in mid-mental rage as a he finally registered what had actually been pressed against him. And how long. Touching his cheek gingerly where her lips had lingered, he looked up in shock but she already had her back turned to him as she walked away.
What. Just. Happened.
Noe’s glance darted back and forth, feeling lost and very confused. No way that was an Imp thing, that was definitely a T’kani thing. And T’kani things meant crazy, he was sure. Or this was a very, very elaborate set-up. But no one was pointing and laughing, a few random glances his way, some even questioningly at his startled expression for sure, but not the ridicule he would’ve expected from a prank. By the time the thought crossed his mind to simply catch up to her and ask she was already quite gone and lost in the crowd. Rubbing his face curiously, he turned around slowly, picking up his bag in a daze. He’d apparently stomped on it when he slammed the chair back down. Crap. Well, nothing really breakable in there, honestly. Shaking his head, he couldn’t quite seem to get his thoughts into order, and that’s when he noticed the note again. Completely forgotten these past few moments, Noe eyed it suspiciously before reaching out to snatch the folded paper.
Torn from a notebook, it was clearly T’kani’s handwriting, and he snorted at the first line. The rest had him choking on air though. Was… that her dorm room number? She was inviting him up. Today? Whenever? Why? What the hell? She was playing with him, had to be. No one just… did stuff like this. Right? Oh hell, what did he know about dating. Or… whatever the heck this was. Flirting? Teasing? Harassing the loner kid? The last seemed most likely to him, honestly. Yea, he could show up at her dorm and there would be something recording him when… something bad happened.
His mind jumped to what other bad things could occur and he quickly turned red and shoved the note in his pocket. Nope. No way. Though she did flash him… But no! She probably had a roommate or two. Unless…
Nope. Not only was that so incredibly unlikely AND NOT TO MENTION BIZARRE and not exactly something the campus smiled on whether or not they were all seniors or just even the two of them and he’d find out if the stripes were a matched set and WHAT THE HELL WAS HE THINKING, NINE.
Leaning forward to put his head in his hands, and somewhat obscure a rather embarrassing view, he rocked himself back and forth and took slow breaths to try and calm himself down. Way down. Scooting his chair forward until he was sitting at the table again, he leaned forward and promptly rapped his forehead against the hard surface, just to the left of the tray. Hopefully there was barely anyone left to notice his humiliating display, but Noe wasn’t about to raise his head to see. Maybe this was her plan all along, get him to act crazy. Ugh. This had ‘bad news’ written all over it. So why was he debating actually going to her dorm after classes ended and he stopped by the library?
Dammit. (FIN?)
