"We're going to have to work on your sense of adventure, Wonderboy." Katrina nudged his shoulder gently with her own before taking the cookie from him, giving him a moment to get his board settled so that he could lead the way back to his place. The walk back was mostly uneventful. James managed not to trip over his feet, the sidewalk or anything else along the way and the cookie had helped tone down her hunger enough that she could just enjoy the company. For all that she enjoyed people she spent very little time actually interacting one on one with them and the change was nice. Kat had sat down on the stoop outside of his apartment to finish off her latte while he put his board away, eventually setting her cup down beside her as she pulled her phone out to check texts and status updates. Prissy had reblogged a few things on her Tumblr account and posted a few pictures that made it look like she was at work-- At work and on her phone. Danny was going to be so mad at her... When she heard footsteps she glanced up, flashing a smile at her companion. "Ready?"

James was admittedly, incredibly glad that Katrina hadn't like, wanted to go inside because frankly his apartment was a disaster. There were papers scattered across the entire living room, with a seemingly endless pile of open books blocking every foreseeable exit outside of one obviously carefully made trail leading into the hallway.
The kitchen had a sink full of dishes that he really needed to do but hadn't found the time despite running out of bowls for cereal. His bedroom was worse, with clothing littering both his bed and the floor. What was doing laundry?
James clearly didn't know.
He disappeared into the dimly lit, relatively cramped, thing and tucked his board against the wall and he might have ducked into the bathroom to fix his hair slightly before he popped back out and grinned down at her. "Ready."
He held his hand out for her, to help her up because yes, that was the only reason.
"Okay, so when we get to your bike I'm probably going to have to like, work really hard to keep from crushing you. Or like. Taking up too much space. Have you seen my limbs?"

Katrina slid her hand into his, pulling herself to her feet with his assistance while flashing him a smile. Without putting too much thought in it she left her hand in his as she tugged him along to make certain that he was following her back to where they'd left her bike parked in front of the CatFe. "You'll be fine, Wonderboy." Kat wasn't sure how reassuring her tone actually was considering she was once again trying really hard not to laugh at how anxious he seemed. "Honestly, all you have to do is relax. I mean, I'm not going to stop you from holding on to me while we're riding, because that's probably going to be the best way to make sure you stay on, but..." Was she teasing him or was she serious? Her eyes were dancing as she glanced up at him, corners of her mouth twitching as she tried not to grin. "You aren't going to crush me-- At least not any more than you did either of the two times you've landed on me. I spring back pretty well. Nine lives and all that."

James slipped his fingers between hers when she didn't let go and didn't say a word about the very casual, obviously platonic, hand-holding. It certainly didn't keep him grinning as they made their way back to her bike. Holding hands was just - it was nice.
"Oh, I'm holding on to you," he blurted out without even thinking about what it might imply. "I mean - I don't want to be the reason we crash so I - uh - I'm gonna hold on to you. If that's fine?" The tips of his ears were reddening as he just dug himself deeper and deeper.
"If me falling on you counts as you losing lives then well, you're at like seven lives now, that doesn't seem like great odds. I'll probably stumble a lot." Even in his attempts to appear smaller and to shrink, James was as tall and lanky as ever.
"Have I mentioned I think it's really badass that you've ride a motorcycle?" Because it was, and he might've been a bit in awe over it.

"Do you know what you need, Wonderboy?" Katrina turned as she let go of his hand so that she could walk backwards in front of him. She kept her eyes on his face, trusting the expressions on his face to warn her as to whether or not she might walk into something while they kept pace. If she did stumble she at least hoped his reaction speed would be quick enough to catch her without sending them both down to the ground again. "A leather jacket, a good helmet and a little bit of adventure," she was grinning as she spoke, still lightly teasing him. "It'll be like Grease 2; smart, adorable guy goes badass and learns to ride to catch the eye of one of the sassy girls. Not-- Not that you need to be a badass to catch my eye. Not that you aren't one. I mean, you went bull riding on a flaming bull and you're worried about a motorcycle? You'll do fine. Promise.'

She let go and he tried not to let the disappointment show when she looked at him. "I might have a jacket and, at the very least, a sense of adventure," he replied, trying to play along with the light, flirty banter.
"Does that mean you're going to take me on adventure Kat?" James liked adventures, even if he'd been a lot more hesitant about them as he had been in the past. Too much risk for such little reward. Of course, James' adventuring had been pre-space and temporary death so.
"I don't want to catch the eye of a sassy girl. Just one." He said bashfully, both hands in his pockets now that they weren't holding hand with his shoulders hunched slightly. "I mean - If I've already managed to catch her eye."
It was probably too soon for all of this but, Kat was funny and nice and she didn't seem to mind that he was all limbs and awkwardness. But, she was probably teasing him and that was fine too. It was nice to do whatever they were doing regardless of what came from it. "If you say I'll be okay, then I trust you."

Katrina laughed, spinning back around on her toes as they approached her bike. It was a light, happy laugh; a girly laugh. She wasn't sure whether or not to believe that he was actually flirting with her, or if he was just as good at playing the word game as the other members of the Pack were. If he was a writer there was a damn good chance that he was better at the word game than anyone else... But you can't fake adorkable shyness, can you? The young woman took a deep breath, shaking her head at herself as she unstrapped the helmet from where she had secured it. It would probably be a little bit snug and the cat ears sticking up off of the top might have been a bit much, but she was going to insist that he wear it for safety-- At least until she picked up another one in the event tandem rides became a thing. "Stick with me and we'll go on all sorts of adventures, Wonderboy." Kat flashed him a wicked grin while pressing her helmet into his hands before sliding onto her bike, waiting (im)patiently for him to join her. "Food first, though. I'm starving."

James took the helmet tentatively, it wasn't really his style and he'd rather she wear it but he could sense a disagreement on his hands if he argued. So, he took it and just looked at Katrina with a cat helmet, really? look.
"That's what I get for picking a cat cafe rather than a standard place," he joked, carding a hand through his hair before he toyed with the straps of the helmet and slid it on. "What do you think? My style or should I keep looking?"
It was easier to just go with things when they were just people and not, well, negaverse agents fighting evil or whatever. Besides, he liked spending time with Kat so far and he was, secretly, really glad that Prissy hadn't crashed.
He'd take the pinkette to lunch or dinner or whatever another time. James had, selfishly, wanted to get Kat to himself for a little while.
He was careful of parts as he slid onto the bike behind her, carefully sliding his hands across her stomach and holding her firm but gently. "My life is in your hands Kat."

Katrina had shrugged at his assessment of her helmet, giving him a ' wear it or stay here, I'm getting a burger either way' look until he put it on. "Totally your style," she laughed, reaching up to tuck her ponytail down the back of her jacket so that it wouldn't be flying in his face the entire time they were riding-- If he even opened his eyes to notice the scenery, at least. He seemed nervous enough that he might just be the 'close your eyes and hold on' sort. It took her a second as he settled before she started the bike up and she tried to convince herself that it was to make sure that he was comfortable and not because she was finally the one blushing. Katrina took a deep breath, holding it for a moment before starting her bike up. If he was going to trust her with his life she'd at least be sure to make it fun.
